  1. I have the TWR metallic pads from repco. Doing hills runs, standing on the brakes into each hairpin down a hill, they get very very smelly, a bit smokey, pedal gets a bit softer, and they might lose 20% of the power to fade, and at the end of the run I have black wheels that are too hot to touch, on slotted rotors.

But they stop when cold, and were cheap, unlike a pad that never fades, so when I drive to work in the mornings I can actually stop fast when road cyclists and kids jump in the way. A bit of fade is a good price to pay for not having some tool splatted on my windscreen.

However, I have not done much reseach on brake pads, just everything else. So I'm sure theres a pad out there that has say less than 5% fade and works decent when cold.

  2. Don't need these anymore, was going to keep them but it makes no sence having 14inch as well as the 15 inch basketweaves that came on the new car, can't change tires around...

    So Forrrr Sale.

Dunlop Formula 901's. These are Direzzas before they called them that, and because I have Direzzas on my current car I can tell you that they both feel the same and suit the e30 perfectly yumyum

Anyway, will offer to you all on here first, if there are no takers they get taken to Trademe..

Gave them a blast with the waterblaster, 1 of the wheels is slightly yellowish? (Top left in shot) Hard to understand why, and one wheel has a wee bend in the lip, got it like that, no troubles balancing.

Kerbing is very mininal, and 2 tires have only just been scrubbed in, and 2 have a bit of outside shoulder wear. (Summit Rd + not enough front camber) But still so much life left. Pics of one of each of the differently worn tires.

Anyway that's my pitch. PM me full individual full size pics.

Wanting 600. Just cause of the tires :)

  3. Even if I hid my number plate, anyone could search the net for the 10000 other posts I have made online with that same username, find my real name, and find out the cars I own.

The only solution is to not post pictures, but what kind of enthusist would that make me...

I know the consequences. But I thank you anyway, really :)

  4. I got the Redline MTL and 75W90 from BNT on Waterloo Rd, there is a branch in town as well. They have the whole range there pretty much. Gearbox really does sync up much faster and the diff just works like it should ha.

And I believe I was totally responsible today, spotters were place to watch for anything coming and the corners were ones that didn't have 400ft drops off the edge. And the car is quiet, and I certainly don't 'lap' on Fri and Sat or make a mess doing burnouts in town.

And will definitly take it to the Track.

  5. After spending Friday night and saturday under the car putting on slotted rotors and better pads, flushing the gearbox with kerosene and refilling with Redline MTL, filling the LSD with Redline as well, aaand bleeding brakes and clutch, it was time for a extra spirted drive.

Realise I definitely need a full suspension package and AKG bushings all round. Way too easy to out drive this car. And managed to catch crazyarab on the way home, what a tidy tidy tidy M3, love it. Told him to check Showroom later on today for this ha.

    Some piccytures!

    Include..

    [Took away the pictures, sorry]

    sigh

  6. Nicest paint I've seen in a long while. Perfect condition. 2 pics for you to enjoy. Waited a little in case the owner was in the house it was parked outside, hoping they'd see my Mtech and come chat ahaa.

Gave me a fright on the way home, so stunning in real life! Pics don't do it any justice.

    Owner on here??

  7. Oh hell yeah it's way way way nicer than the old one. That had been thrashed and put on 18in chromes when I got it. It was very very cheap though. Still have all the goodies from it. Going to test fit the tesstarossa style sideskirts on this new car soon, might look pretty damn good. The old kit is a Kamei one.

Got your number saved Sammy, this weekend the car will be on stands but next weekend will be a go for sure. Could bring the camera and get some worthy pics too :D

    Thanks all

  8. Since having seen the car in real life and commenting about it's niceness, I'll just say it's even better in those pics especially, Great girl man.

Hmmm my gf would be keen for something like this, I just text her, she'd be close to rivalling your girl :D :D

  9. Well hey. I mostly just lurk around on here, but I'm heavily into my e30's. Name is Henry. I got in contact with Riley through here and have been for a rapid scenery fly by in his car. Also met another member Maverick, who I got my new car off in Palmy. And a great guy called Sam with the best condition e30 I've ever seen (blue, leather, 4 door) who flagged me down 2 nights ago and we shot the breeze about our cars ha.

    I used to own this:

Until I was sitting at the lights on Bealy Ave and a foolish old woman hit me at 65kph. I bounced into my friend who had JUST bought a S14 Silvia 4 days beforehand, who bumped into an e36. (His headlights were smashed, radiator pushed into engine, bonnet folded up a foot, and the e36 didn't have a mark on it! Tank)

Had to hold the steering wheel at a large angle to drive straight after this, still was stable and tracked well though, turned left hand corners much better than right. (4 wheel steering effect)

Front is just as bad. The other pics of the whole thing are on my portable HDD.. Long story short, been working in WA this year. Came back. Wanted another e30. One much more rare and prestegious. Here it is:

What's on the cards for it you may ask? First off, I'm as far from a boy racer as you could imagine. But I love driving extra spirtedly. And 2nd gear and the lsd know that already on the drive back from Palmy..

Just today fixed the windows which weren't moving. I can know breath in the almost summer heat here.

Put the ///M back on the correct side. Much better.

Full fluid change this weekend. Everything that is wet will be renewed.

New brake master cly, it's rooted.

Put my rebuilt brake calipers in from the last e30 (had rebuilt them 2 weeks before BANG)

General Tidy up, fix up stone chips mainly and other niggles.

    Future plans include:

    Big Brakes.

Ground Control coilover set up. But with Vorshlag camber plates. SuspenionTechniques sway bars. Urethane all round of course.

Rebuild engine next winter. Too many k's and lovely smoke on start up (Valve guide seals, I know.)

Exterior, nothing. It's perfect. Maybe a re-spray in graphite schwartz metallic.

I hope to keep this forever and keep it as close to standard as possible with out being a car with body roll or brakes that fade. Maybe a very light turbo just to get the 80's single cam engine up to speed with newer cars..

But hey. That is all, I'll be posting a little now that I have a BMW again aha.

    Cu

Pics taken on a Canon 450D on the way home from work today. Just read about the calender you are putting together. May have to get some pro shots in the next few days...

  10. 325 bucks, only 1 person bid yesterday, you are a fool if you didn't bid. Tisk tisk.

I knew the net had to be out somewhere! Oh well the only thing I'm concerned about is having less money when I get to Aus in a week. Might just live off fish and chips till first pay haha. I sold the box cause when I get back I'll be buying an e30 again, but it won't have an m20 in it. Just a screaming v8 :D
