Nice! Is that price with or without paint?

I'm probably looking at getting this going in the new year, the car needs some low before it'll pull these off! Could be keen on those Swift steels, how much for a set? Also, I think the new VW beetles came out with 16" stock steelies.

I went to Elite Wheel Co in Chch today to see what's up. $120 per wheel widened, bored to correct centre and offset corrected to fit the width of 8-8.5" that I wanted. That's with an existing wheel to start with, probably a BMW mini 15" or Suzuki swift 15" Word is he'll shave the price with multiple wheel sets wanted.

I made the fairing over the weekend, picked up an offcut of black perspex from a plastics place, the saw operator was the only one there so got it for a $15 cashie. A hacksaw, some files and a few beers later had the shape done. Bent some brackets to the right angle, drilled a few holes and a couple of trips to mitre 10 later I had the right sized bolts. A trip to para rubber sorted the rubber extrusion I needed for where it sits on the roof. Attached it to the rack today, sits quite well. Took the car for a blast out to the country and it didn't fly off and kill anyone so bonus there. I kinda wish it had a matt finish but I'm pretty happy with the outcome anyway. I'll take some non-cell phone photos when I get round to it.

Cool, I'll give Elite Wheel Co down here a call. Was thinking around 8" or 8.5"at this stage, 19" seems a bit excessive haha.. The Mini wheels seem legit, but the centrebore is off, re-drilling's an option but is it dodgy/legal? I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to spacers, the offset on the Mini steels are ET45, e30's are 25 aren't they? What's the deal with spacers are they expensive or require cert? apologies for the n00b questions but I've gotta start somewhere!

How do those swift rims fit around the brakes? Offset's a bit different isn't it? I'm looking to widen the steelies and get them powdercoated like these > Done right I reckon it can look rad!

I'm after a set of 15" or 16" steelies for my e30, but I'm finding it pretty tough (if not impossible?) to find them with the correct centrebore. And i'd far perfer 15's or 16's over the bmw 14's. Wheels off Suzuki swifts, and a few Honda/Toyota have 15" with 4x100 and similar offsets but with a smaller centrebore. Swift wheels are 54mm i think. Is it possible to bore out these wheels to fit the e30, and if so, is it pricey? Cheers!

Haha yeah that was pretty much all I did at intermediate. Big sheets of the stuff seem pretty pricey from bunnings etc. Didn't want to buy a sheet and snap it on the first curve, did that enough times building models for uni. Havn't looked into pricing from a plastics joint yet I'll do it this week. If its rediculous I'll have to bust out the jigsaw.

I put my bmw roofracks on my e30 today and want to make a fairing like the ones that came with the Thule 555's back in the day. I cut out a cardboard thule fairing off a template I got off vwvortex to see how it would fit, but it seems a bit wide, and a bit high since Thule 555's sit alot higher on the roof. Think i'll have to customize the shape a bit. Anyone on here tried to make a rack fairing for an e30? Or any places in Christchurch you could recommend for taking the template/cad file to, to get it cut and shaped outta perspex? Cheers Here's the said template and racks. (shitty phone photos)

Finally got round to tinting my rear indicators. Pretty stoked on the look.

Cleared a blockage in the sunroof drains , debadged and then rebadged.

yeah I was thinking the same, because it would seem pretty ghetto to try and mask the rear valence off and try and paint it as is.. maybe I'll just re-do the black. but having said that I like the look of matching lip/skirts that I did while pissing round on photoshop Ha I haven't tried the Hornby mitre 10 I'll give them a go. Could be keen on those springs in a month or two Mark if you still have them then. Cheers for the tips guys

Hi, I'm looking to tint my rear indicators red (I've read the thread in the DIY section) but can't find that 'plastikote glass tint' anywhere in Christchurch! I've tried Mitre10 Megas, Placemakers, Bunnings etc and half the guys in Repco/Supercheap have no idea what im talking about. Anyone know where I could pick some up in Chch or online? Also, thinking of painting my front lip and sideskirts on my e30 Touring white to match the body. Are these parts easy enough to take off and paint? Obviously looking to match the paint but if that's not possible with aerosol can anyone recommend some paint and where to get it from? White as in the pic below cheers!

Picked my my first BMW over the weekend after my love affair with VW ended with a fail. Is a '89 e30 touring with an msport 325i + e36 gearbox. Apparently its got an msport chip too Pretty stoked on my first BMW, have always loved e30 tourings and basket weaves! Apologies for the crappy phone photo i'll try to take some proper ones soonish.
