  1. CheersThey're Superlow King Springs. Mags are 17". Car originally had M tech Suspension so standard low springs were not going to bring the car down much more than where it was originally sitting. Thats why I went superlow.
  2. Have just lowered my car with super low springs. Lowered approx 40mm. Im pretty happy with the look of it. It drives and handels far better than I thought it would. Have added some before and after photos for you comment. Cheers
  3. To be honnest its more of a scrape to the underside somewhere in the middle of the car rather than the car bottomening out and slamming down on the jb's. I think its more cosmetic damange to the underside of the car rather than any major structural damage. Just gotta keep away from those dam jb's
  4. Going at it at an angle dosn't work. They're the standard shocks in there
  5. nah man, that's pretty rough Ive spent alot of coin on my car, not gunna wreck it with a couple of spray bombs from supercheaps aye!
  6. Well i ended up putting super low springs on the car. Looks really good in my opinion and the quality of the ride is far better than I thought it would be. Now there is about 10mm tyre-guard at the front and the rear guard covers about half the tyre. Approx 135mm Ground to sideskirt clearance Only prob is than I now can't go over judder bars! The car is bottoming out big time somewhere in the middle of the car. I cringe everytime I hear it. Photos attached
  7. While back in Hastings for the Weekend I went to see the old mans friend who a panel beater/painter. He quoted $600 + gst, but for me $350 (mates rates) Pretty happy with that price
  8. Hi Just wondering if anyone has painted their bumpers and side skirts to match their car? There is not alot that really has to be painted. Wondering what an approximate price would be to do his. Anyone in Wellington want a perk job Cheers
  9. Cheers 3 Pedals. Ill have a measure up tonight. Im looking at puting some low springs on the car this weekend but unsure if it's going to lower it very much. I DONT want to go super low and affect drivability of the car! The rear seems to be sitting in at a fairly good height. Approx 30mm between top of tyre and top of guard. The front is more like 60mm between tyre and top of guard.
  10. Hi all Can someone please please help me out here. I have a 95 E36 318is coupe with M Tech suspension. I have just put some 17" mags on it and wish to lower it. My questions are: 1/ Do I have to get a different set of springs because my car has M Tech suspension or will standard springs for my year/model car be ok? 2/ I dont want to over do the lowering of the car and have the arse draging on the ground making it a right royal pain for everyday driving round town. If I put just standard 'low' springs rather than 'super low' on the car am I going to see any difference in height? Basically what im getting at is, does M Tech suspension differer from standard suspension in an E36 in the way of ride height of the car? 3/ What brand of springs does everyone think is the best? Brand, code number etc? Your help and commpent are greatly appreciated Cheers
  11. CHEERS FOR THE COMMENTS GUYS. SOUNDS LIKE I MADE THE RIGHT DECISION LOWERING IT NEXT WEEKEND! WILL POST SOME PICS OF THE PROGRESS.
  12. Hi All Well my mags just turned up and I had to put them on straight away! Thought id post some before and after picks. Am I right in thinking that it needs to be lowered a little and probably 35% tints? Would like to hear your comments and any other suggestions? Cheers
  13. Yep, as above. As long as its single din you'll be fine. Goodluck
  14. Hey, just removed my fact headunit from my e36. You just have to keen unwinding the little allen key screws untill they are quite loose. You have to unwind them quite a way. Once done just wiggle the headunit a bit and it should just ease out. Goodluck
  15. Hi I just installed a pretty nice alpine head unit into my e36. Went in a treat and looks real nice as it sit qute flush with the dash compared to some cheaper headunits. Just used wiring looms to suit the model/headunit and it takes anout 15mins! If you going to replace the front factory component speakers its best to talk it thru with a car stereo salesperson. There is not alot of depth down in the kickpanels and they will know what'll fit in there. Rears - just leave the factory ones in there. No one ever talked about rears plus they're not too bad. Subs - up to you what you plan to do there. Id get a pro to do the wiring and set up. Save you a bit of time and agony
  16. Thats a pretty clean install mate. Nice work. Good to see all these options! Would like to see if anyone else has any more great ideas
  17. Curryinahurry - where are you located? Where is A1 tinting because thats a pretty good price!
  18. Just been to german plates and seen the replica NZ plate. Honestly, whats the diff between them and the euro plates from personalised plates nz? How can the feds tell? and has anyone been told to remove them or been fined? Cheers
  19. 19's and super lows! man that must have looked pretty mean! Think I might go super lows. Had a look at a few cars on trade me with 17 and 18's on super lows and I didnt look too out of place. Thanks for the advice mate
  20. Cheers The mags are 17" hypersilver. Its a hard decision as once I have the springs on the car, they can't go back! If I go putting super lows on the car with 17's will I get guard rub and trouble going over judder bars etc? I want the car to look like its been lowered but not so low that its rediculous. I want it at a nice height. Can anyone speak from experience? Cheers Brett
  21. Thanks all for the welcome. Just brought some mags for it today, so slowly getting there. Here is a very very quick amature photoshop pic of the mags on the car. Now have to decide if I should go low or super low springs? Any input and advice would be appreciated. Cheers Brett
  22. Hi All Im new to Bimmersport so thought id introduce myself. I recently brought myself a NZ new e36 318is manual coupe. Pretty wrapped with it as I was looking for a tidy man is coupe for a very very long time. Its absolutly mint condition 2 owners, 86k and got it for what I reckon was a steal! Planning on doing a few mod's to it. Nothing too over the top thou. Genuine BMW mags, lowering it a little, 35% tints, and some nice sounds. Would like to hear some comments, good or bad. All will be taken onboard Cheers Brett
  23. Hi, great to see some options for sub and amp setups. Ive been looking round for a while but struggling to find anything decent. Can I ask how you managed to cut the mdf so tightly to the curve of the boot. Looks real nice mate. Well done. Thanks in advance
