Yeah that can work. Then go through all of the sanding grits 80-3000 and then use a polishing compound on the end of a drill or polishing machine of sorts. I can help if you want to get it done professionally know of a cheap place

I think thats been the problem, 5x120 fits commodore so lots of our decent wheel stock has gone through the buthole of trademe and out the otherside. Both my sets of LMs where in similar order when I got them and I restored them both back to mint.
The only redeeming factor is you can get them for cheap when they look like this.
Nice work on the resto.
Thanks. Yes i agree but also with the massive influx of replica/cheaply made wheels lots of the quality damged wheels are coming back around and with a new appreciation of genuine wheels especially on the euro scene are getting repaired and restored.
Ive done a few wheel over the years and its almost been for the fun of it most dont even make it to the car haha but its worth it because more genuine wheels make it into the market

Im not sure how exhaust will sound. Its kinda just for shits and giggles its costing nothing but the $80 muffler and i still have 2 other stock ones and if its a real nasty sound which i figure it will be ill just use it for track days etc lost a fair bit of weight from baffling
If you have any suggestions on how to improve sound on a budget id like to hear them. Was going to wrap the perforated pipe?
I have plans for a proper exhaust system this is purely for the fun of it

Hey another slight update brought a few stock exhaust and i wanted to gut one and see what it sounds like and before you judge me i will have anoth stock one to revert back to if it sounds like crap they were very cheap so it doesn't matter either way.
Not finshed yet (on holiday at the moment) just thought id post what ive done.
I went thought 3 cutting disc and a big rubbish bag of what looks like hair. Only removed baffling from chambers 2, 3 and 5 may do chamber 1 depending on how it sounds

Hey guys, just wanted to share some picture of a set of BBS LM wheels I've repaired. Such a shame to see nice/rare wheels forgotten and sometimes scrapped. So I gave these a new lease on life.
Wheels were very curbed, bent and a few flat spots, so I stripped them apart, gave them a good clean, soaked bolts and cleaned them with a tooth brush.
The curbing (missing chunks) were welded back up and some small cracks around bolt holes were welded up and redrilled. The flat spots in 2 wheels were then removed and all wheels were made true again.
The excess welds were machined back. Then finally, finished polished.
I had to find a full set of center caps which was quite tricky and expensive. Long story short, I ended up buying another set of wheels and using the caps and then selling on. Didn't paint the centers as a new project came up for my M3 and didnt have time to paint but would have painted in the original silver had this gone ahead.
Hope you enjoy!
