  1. Hi all,

have my old 2002 motor getting in the way - if someone wants to make an offer then please do so, if not it will go into deep dark storage :)

Also have a bunch of parts including manifold, brakes, interior bits, some glass, rear touring seats, headlights, kidney grille etc etc if you want any of it and are willing to take all of it (and you have a 2002 to use it on) then you can have it - otherwise it all goes to the tip, trying to stop the garage looking like a wrecking yard :)

  2. Awesome project, I bet its bloody fast. That engine looks the business.

But whats up with the guards? In some of the photos they look like they dont line up with the doors that well.. maybe your doors need shimming?

Good spotting - the doors are PFL door that had the mouldings filled in, that needs pulling out to line up with the guards, then the doors need to come out a mm or so to sit 100% flush. the aerodynamics havent worried me too much yet though :)

  3. Fricken awesome, how could you sell that?

    Love the wheels.

Where did you get the tail lights from? Theyre mint. I've only seen them in US/UK. Is there an NZ supplier?

Imported myself 2 sets from Germany.

  4. Hi all -

Took some photos with the M3-ish body and skirts.

Thinking of selling it now, have some other cars waiting to be re-powered, and I tend to lose interest when something works! Although I change my mind every time I get in and drive it :)

EDIT: FYI im a crap photographer, and the bonnet is only jacked up because the new turbo is a little bigger than the first one, doesnt quite fit under (just in case you thought I was a ricer) :)

  5. The same as the 318iS on 20 psi hah. Badass.

Dont think I am brave enough to twist the whistle knob up to 20 :)

Originally we thought it was overboosting to 10~11 but that was because the wastegate pressure feed melted and we never actually checked top boost after that. So I know it can take at least that much so will go and have a bash at the track then try the bigger PSI wastegate spring and put it back on the dyno.

  6. I assume thats rear wheel HP, do you make your own ECU or did you just buy something.

Be pretty interesting how far you take the power output, i still like the Alpina B10 twin turbo with approx 360hp @ flywheel. How is driveability etc?

Yes rear wheel HP as per dyno sheet, and with my own ECU hardware, so it was as much a test of that as it is of the motor!

What is my approximate flywheel HP anyone know a good conversion for the bmw/m30 setup?

  7. Awesome looking build mate!

But why two intercoolers? Seems quite unnecessary with a GT35R. Remember all that space takes time to fill up and time constitutes as turbo lag. Mind you its not going to be too bad seeing as the turbo is BB and your not exactly shy on the displacement side.

Cant wait for the videos! Keep it coming.

You are not wrong, it probably is a tad oversized. I do get fantastic intake temps though, and the pressure drop isn't really a concern with the low boost I run. Once she is tuned properly I will get a feel for the lag issue, at the moment its already a handful to drive

  8. Custom RS? The 10.5" shells only came on 15" rims

They look to be re drilled centres, so what part number are they? Not 197 or 212's?

Yes Custom RS's, were 17x7 and 17x8 5x114's, I re-drilled to 5x120 and used 3.5" outer lips on one pair, left the others standard and repainted the centres. runs 235/40 fronts and 275/40 rears

  9. OK, finally a few updates (excuse the terrible photos)

    - 5 stud e36 suspension

    - BBS RS 17x10.5 & 17x8's

    - E30 M3 guards - fibreglass

    - fibreglass boot & bonnet

    - Garrett GT35R BB turbo & 50mm external wastegate

    - wilwood 6 pot calipers & 330mm rotors

    - fixed back seats with head restraints

    - revised front and rear coilover set

    - front and rear strut braces

    Think thats it?

Been for a few more tuning drives, really starting to put a smile on my face now. Next is dyno time...

  10. what sort of spring rates are ppl running in their E30 M30 powered machines?

Not loving the kings action in the front. Already broke a coil off one of my rear king springs so they have been replaced with some B+G springs. (only have rear set)

road or race, coilover or standard? I run 800 lb rear / 600 lb front currently but I think that will change soon now that I have gone to the e36 suspension setup.

  11. howdy all,

The E30 335ti has undergone its next round of upgrades, so some spare bits are being sold off.

This includes my blue vinyl Jamex seats (they were the dogs proverbials back in the day I had them made) as I have gone to fixed back seats.

The rails were modified to a level which passed certification, seat mount areas made of decent steel. Worth heaps alone even if you wanted them to put new seats on:
