  1. Club is always a full day, national is mostly half-day, with the odd full day available. https://www.tracktime.co.nz/ also do full days on National, i'm doing the next one on Wed 4th Sep.
  2. Yep. National is usually run around 9-10 times a year. They do the odd full day too.
  3. I did the club circuit just to be able to do the National. Club is a bit too slow and boring. Nothing to be nervous about on National, just start in the slow group and get some seat time. 🙂
  4. I was on the National getting hassled by all the race cars in my sh1tbox P11. Saw your car at around 8am, want sure who the owner was and was in a bit of a rush for a 🚽 😅 Next national is in November which is ages away. b13e28fb-c036-4bae-a491-29538f0b1c68.mov
  5. Saw the 337 on Sunday at HD. Looking minter!
  6. Buy with confidence, James changes the oil in his cars probably more than his undies and never takes them to redline.
  7. Best to get an N47 powered car that’s had the timing chain job done already.

  9. I have the Hartge back boxes.
  10. Pull the lower rear seat base up and see if there’s signs of original black paint there.

    Project E39

points to evidence of some gorilla using a BFH in the past to try and separate the Balljoint.
  12. Looking at options for getting a 200kg engine on a pallet sent to me from Napier. Any recommendations on a company to use?

    Sold.

Arms $100 for the pair - $old. Shift Knob $old.
  14. I've been doing track days once a month at Puke and intend to until closedown.
  15. It puts a price on the post or it gets the hose.
  16. You even get fake non staggered style 65’s!
  17. I’ve got my M5 on their classic cover package and there’s no where in the policy about mileage restrictions, for 5 years now. They do low ball each year for renewal in value which is annoying and an extra $100 for a valuation to get agreed value. Had a claim on the X3 recently for Fr bumper damage and it was quite painless. While the work carried out by their choice of shop was good, I found things in the engine bay not re-installed properly. I wasn’t given a choice of which shop did the work. Have been with state, ami and tower over the years. Have only ever made 3 claims including the recent X3 one. AA hands down the best. The rest can ggf’d.
  18. Where there’s a will there’s a way.
  19. @Blackie Have you considered this?
  20. Compared to Mtech I the 540i Mtech II suspension gets M5 front shocks, lower front springs. Progressive and taller rear springs with different shocks to accommodate. Ride height is 10mm lower. Don’t quote me on this but I think swaybars are slightly stiffer too.
  21. Car as a service bullshit.
  22. The starter motors must be beefed up to cope with all the extra work, I haven’t really heard much at all on early failures in bimmers with stop/start tech.
  23. Echoing @Olaf ‘s comments. Loving the F25 30d. We average 8.6l/100km and a tank lasts about 2-2.5 weeks. Ours is msport nz-new but with standard suspension. It is a tad harsh over sharp bumps with the RFT’s but it’s not a deal breaker. The 20d is a little lack lustre, you’d struggle overtaking up a hill easily, which is my benchmark for performance. The 35i is nice but I could see us having to fill up once a week. Compared to the 30d the 35i is quicker from 100km/h onwards when i was test driving.
  24. I've been trying to chase an annoying rattle coming from the engine bay when giving it some jandal since I bought this car in 2015. I had literally been through everything I could think of including opening up the engine, checking timing, bleeding lifters, compression test etc etc. It turn out the rattle was coming from loose exhaust manifold nuts FFS. lol. Of the 4 nuts i could access on bank 1, 2 were quite loose, and one wasn't even finger tight. I still need to check the other 4 nuts but for now the rattle has completely gone. This is a very good example of troubleshooting from the most complex and expensive part first and working your way back to the easiest and cheapest, which is very wrong. I feel like a F*cking plonker, but at the same time I'm very happy!
