Sweet, thanks guys. So I dont need to drop the oil out or anything silly like that?
-
Hey everyone,
So my E30 (M20B25) had a slight oil leak.. always has, never worried me too much cause it wasnt big. Then it started getting bigger, until tonight I found a huge puddle on the floor of the garage! Turns out oil is leaking through the oil sensor in the side of the block (according to my Bentley manual its the oil pressure sensor).
Im replacing the sensor tomorrow. Is there anything I need to do or know before I go rip sh*t and bust and pull everything apart? Just want to make sure I do things properly.
Cheers in advance!
Jason

I found this out the hard way when I had my shocks replaced professionally, got stung a wee bit for the excessive labour! But they did give me a slight discount as they werent expecting it to take so long

Hey guys, I saw a silver/grey Mtech1 E30 today. The plate was E30 BMW or BMW E30 (cant remember which way round) It was driving through ngaruawahia and turned off SH1 at the BP.
Anyone on here?? Or does anyone know about it?
It was a very cool car!
Cheers, Jason

I met up with a few guys on the weekend and we took a few photos. Are you still accepting photos for the calender? Im just waiting on the last lot of photos in the mail on a memory card. But we would be keen to get some in. The photos are of an E30 sedan, an E30 convertible and a E30 Touring. Thought it might be good to have a photo of three main variations of E30. Your thoughts?
Also heading out this weekend to take some more of just my car after i clay-barred and polished the crap out of it! Whats the cut-off date to send photos in??
Cheers, Jason

Hey everyone, I dont know if this is the right place to do this but what the hell, shift it if I'm wrong
Being an owner of an E30 I am constantly requiring spare parts. Regardless of what it is I need, Mosen Euro Parts in Hamilton has always been able to provide me with what I need. They are a BMW dismantler, so have all sorts of second hand parts. So anyone in the Waikato that needs anything BMW, give these guys a call. They are great to deal with, the prices are good and they give great advice.
Thats my 2c of who is the best place for parts in town!
Cheers, Jason

Hey Matt. I think its the sump. Is this taken into account when measured at VTNZ or wherever you do cert??
Have a look at the pics of my touring in the showroom, the sump is exactly 100mm off the ground.
-
I agree, they are something different!Haha, the Touring is a nice vehicle to drive and be seen in though, something about a being a wagon that takes the “BMW driver†perception away!
Would be hard to replace.
Nice E30Zone Avatar BTW.
Thanks I'm glad I'm not the only one that has seen those photos!

That is true, like I said. It would go for the right price.Everything is for sale at the right price.
My thoughts exactly!!Where are you finding e46 tourings for 8k ?
-
Ask around, people on here know my car. They will tell you what they think..as i said tho Will pay the money if its mint , really keen to find something before newyears
I wouldnt let her go for 8k though. Hit me up when your desperate for a wagon
-
Not really looking to sell, but would let it go for the right price
-
As far as I know Apex isnt selling his anymore..
What would you give me for mine?
-
Cheers for that, interesting stuff. Id be really grateful if you did find that book.
-
Thats not such a bad idea.. Sparked another one in my head too, my Mum works at the AA - is there anyway she could find out?Could try sending the LTSA an email?
-
Is there a way to find out how many were imported?i have never seen a breakdown by country, ussually just lhd or rhd euro and american models
-
Thanks for that, I know of 3 in Hamilton including mine.I know of 7 (including mine) on BS, then I've seen another two driving around Auckland.
I have searched a lot and can't find any build number or import numbers?
Ive searched around alot as well but cant find anything..
I saw a really nice metallic green one at Mount Maunganui on saturday.. anyone on here??
To be annoying, I only want to know how many manual 325i Tourings there are.. Sorry to you 4cyl guys 4 sounding like a dick, I'm not intending to sound that way if thats how it comes across!
-
I'll owe you something if you find out how many of mine were madeI have it in one of my books @ home as to total production figures per model of E30 anyway. One of my E30 manuals.
Would be good if you could find out how many in total from different countries.. SA UK and Germany (or wherever the hell they were actually made!).
Do you know how to find out how many actually came to NZ?
Cheers mate!

Hey Everyone
Is there any way to find out how many of cars of each year/model were made? Or any way to find out how many were brought into New Zealand. I have a 1988 E30 325i Touring (genuine manual).. It came in from the UK in 1994. I want to know how many are in New Zealand and how many were made? Basically I want to know is my car as uncommon(sp) as people say.. Thanks people!
