  1. Its likely that a wire has fallen off the sender...

Remove the sender unit and crimp the wire back on should fix it.

Hi my bmw owners, sorry but have a slight problem with my e36 2.8i. the fuel gauge ,has all of a sudden stopped working, and it now shows empty . i am assuming 1 of the sender units have packed up .Also if i buy a new 1 are they both the same, could i use it to replace either 1 . Any info would be gratefully received . Andy

  2. Hi Guys,

Just noticed this car sold quite quickly on trademe for 17k, did someone on here buy it http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=360323570? Was wondering which cars more "valuable" between mine and his...

Mines a 01, 330CI Motorsport, NZ New, Manual, Full leathers, Xenons, 83km in Schwarz.

I'm contemplating about selling mine later this year, would be good to know the market price.

    Cheers!

  3. You can adjust the door latch.

Open your door and pull out the big rubber boot below the glass. There should be an allen head screw there which you could adjust if I remember correctly.

Its been i while since i last played with mine so i can't remember exactly - but let me know if you need pics or something.

    Cheers

  4. Hi,

I'm in the process of changing my shifter to a short shifter on my E46 coupe. I've disconnected the shifter from the lower shift selector rod, but I'm having trouble removing cup and ball bushing from my shifter.

I've read different articles telling me to rotate it clock wise or anti clockwise, i've tried both, but its still stuck :(

Does anyone know which is the correct direction to spin it from inside the cabin?

    Cheers,

    Andrew

  5. did u get it sorted. basicly there is a cheat for this that does not involve leaving a naked blub tied up under the bonnet, that can rub onto wires plastic etc and can over heat. the trick is basicly a resistor and only costs a few pence, and the meathod is to solder it in between the positive and return just infront of the bulb holder and that feeds the correct resistance back to the lcm and tricks it to thinking all is ok.

the only bad thing is that if the led side light fails you wont be told on your dash, but leds last for years and years so u should be good.

    Hi, thanks for your reply.

What resistance would you use? Would this be a high power resistor?

    Thanks,

    Andrew

  6. Hi,

Just had some panel work done on my E46 door, and the wing mirror was taken off in the process. Now I've got the car back and the mirror won't swivel left / right, however it works fine tilting up and down.

Would anyone know what could be wrong?

(Yes I will bring it back to the panel beaters if I can't sort it out easily myself)

    Thanks :)

    Andrew

  7. Hi guys,

Recently, my e36 323i has developed a vibration from the rear wheel when performing a low speed turn.

It is intermittent, I seem to notice it most when driving slowly for example going through a round about, and it seems to happen when I am turning left (I think).

The vibration feels a bit like something is grinding.

Anyone has similar experience and ideas about what the problem could be?

    thanks!

  8. If you are dead serious, I could be selling mine.

2001 330 CI, NZ New Motorsport, Schwarz II, MANUAL, 80km, full sports leather interior, xenon lamps.

But the price will reflect on how rare this car is... send me a PM if you're serious, and willing to offer some real $$.
