Hey. Very nice!! I have been watching this for a while. Where are you placed with price? These things are worth top money all day long, the reality being that people don't seem to be paying top money for them.....
Im back in NZ for the month of February so at the end of the month if someone is interested its a good time to twist my arm.

I can have a quick look at it for you. But just to give you a basic indication of condition. I'm not taking wheels off etc.
Who here's from auckland and would look at it for me?

I have a tidy E39 2003 530i for sale.
yea I figured, dont know was looking at the neighbors benz and found myself on the fence, thought maybe I should ask what others though before I gave it any more thought.
a friend was going to buy his wifes red GT wagon or whatever you call it that hes got on trademe, but hes looking at the black m3 now. the m3 evo is worth it but I cant justify spending more then 10K on a 10 - 20 year old used car. so just thinking to get a regular mspec car which would have some grunt and nice handling. I cant stand most newer bmws past the e36 and maybe the e38 and e39. Personally kinda hate wagons. I have one and hardly ever drive it unless hauling a months stock of food from town. Should have gotten a ute or truck instead, all my neighbours have them.

This one was LHD but was converted to RHD in jap.
Its a Japanese import, and apparently....
"Japanese people love cars and love Exotic, European and American cars off which 90% are all LHD.
The higher end Euro and Exotics are all guarenteed to be LHD while some off the smaller models such as 3 series BMWs and C Class Mercedes will be a 50/50 mixture off RHD & LHD. In Japan you can drive either RHD or LHD."

Yeah I have looked at this one. But it's super rough and has some issues with the engine at idle. It clearly hasn't been looked after! Btw, if has a two bar!
What about this one? higher km, but nz new evo

This had a full mechanical done on it last week and for some reason the guy didn't buy it... The owner told me there was nothing major wrong but...!? I'm looking for an E36 M3 and would rather an NZ new but thought I would get this one checked out. So do you still think this has had a transplant?? I see it was built 96 but first registered 98.....

I had a look at this. It's not to bad on the outside but has had a cracked subframe at some stage and has since been repaired. Also it sounded like there was some serious wear in the diff. You may aswell spend another 2-5k and get one that is farrrr tidier!!!
Hey guys,
Stumbled across this on trademe and thought I would gather your thoughts?
Looks to be pretty tidy.

Unless anyone here has one for sale around a similar price
Cheers

Did you look at it?

The fact you are asking that question tells me you should probably take a mechanic with you or arrange to have it checked by BM workshop/other bmw specialist. In place of that, there are many good pages that outline what to look for on the E36's in general. Just remember....it is an old car and it WILL have things wrong with it. Don't nail the guy because the centre console is worn etc . Let me know how you go. I am very keen to hear.

Haha, your a bit slow on the uptake Gavin. If this was what I was after I would have already bought it! Its certainly late model and nice!
If I were you I would take a look and get an offer in asap. Funny how all the M3's online are automatically asking 20ish K from point of listing. It would seem that the sellers believe the year, K's and quality have no relation to price.........but the fact that not one of them has sold would say the market disagrees......
Best of luck Gavin!

This looks to good to be true and I would almost guarantee that as soon as you email them they will tell you there is "a lot of interest and you are more than welcome to get car checked out bit if you want it then it's best you pay a deposit and then I will hold it for you" I could be wrong but it sounds like the same add I read time and time again when I was living in the Uk and bought cars.....

I went down the road of looking for an M5 and looked at this one. It's actually in quite good condition and the current owner is a really good guy who has looked after it....history wise...who knows?? I completely agree that the E39 M5 is one of and IMO the best saloon. But they are also money suckers and for this reason personally have resorted to the M3. But I'm fortunate to have had a good E 39 530i which by the way is for sale..... I'll tell you what though, that blue M5 that was online a few weeks ago.....WHAT A CAR!!!

Don't worry about Blue 540i, he's a bit special! I think is car may have fallen of the jack stands while he was working on it....... But their is some sense it what he's saying....somewhere...
I too am looking for what you are after and it is a situation where people are sitting on them for now.
Just hold out and you will find one. I know a guy who picked up an Avus blue one in October of this year.
Good luck!
For years i have been searching for my dream car and still searching to find the right one. I am after an E36 M3 Evo.. in Cosmos black or Estoril Blue. If anyone has one or knows of any around could they let me know? Been wanting one for so many years
