Oh my god, didn't even think to ask them!
Used to work there! should be able to get a pretty good deal
$50 from Parts connection BMW Manukau. Aftermarket plastic, but is made to fit, and looks like the real thing. I have one in mine.

Could you please post a pic, unfortunately don't want to spend $180, but could do the mesh from supercheap until I can afford $180.
Cheers
Shorty
If you can't find an insert just get a sheet of mesh from supercheap auto, does the same job! I can post a pic with mesh it if you want to know what it looks like

Hey guys,
So after selling the mesh from the M3 (motorsport) front bumper off my car, I didn't think I would be buying another E36.. Anyway, now have a motorsport E36 now, and the bumper doesn't have the mesh in it.. Does anyone know where (or have) the mesh pieces for sale?
Thanks

How cool would it be to have our government cruising around in HSV clubsports though!
To be fair though, neither the Commodore nor the Falcon are made in limo spec anymore.

Actually sad to see that mine only made it into the background of the photos
nice to see my dads mini into the photos

Agree!! should be part of licence test. Also I think it should be compulsory to be able to put petrol in your car (My mum still doesn't now how - she always gets the attendent to do it) and also changing a flat tyre should also be part of licence test - it amazes me how many people don't know how to do it.
I would have done the same as the van in my work car, just never in my BMW.
Should have make parking a compulsory component in driver licence test.
AND
If you can't get into a parking space within 20 seconds, clearly you are incompetent to park in it. Give it up!

Cheers will give this a go. I don't have proof that the car has been running. But the guy said that he got the 2nd hand engine put in, drove it for a wee while then the auto trans started slipping so he parked it up and left it for a few months.
mmm,
ok so it has had another motor installed, and I'm going to asume it hasn't been running.
1) turn it over by hand, batt disconnected, see that it isn't seized
2) it will not crank ...
check all conections, check that the earth strap is connected, check the wiring to the starter, clean battery terminals, clean all earth straps
( as we don't know what has been done to the car)
3) actually fit the good battery ( that you have tested) to the car, most jumper leads are no good
4) check for power at the starter
give this a go and then report back
cheers

Not really sure what its worth, but if you are interested in it make an offer
It is still in the car at the moment, so can be seen and heard running probably for the next week or so, as it will have to come out sooner or later.
Just out of interest, what do you want for the engine?

Hi all, hope you had a great xmas.
I did, managed to get my car back ready to strip for parts, will add some photos to the for sale section.
And I picked up a 1998 E46 318i sedan for super cheap..
The car has had a second hand engine installed, and not long after that the transmission apparantly crapped out. Which is fine by me as I will convert to manual if the trans had died.
Went to pick the car up yesterday it is a complete mess, needs a lot of elbow grease, and it had a flat battery which had been disconnected.
Took dad and his 5 series, a spare charged battery, jumper leads and a jumper pack.
connected the charged battery, lights come on.. no start.
Used all other methods mentioned above... no start.
All the lights come on, air con, radio etc all work, so there is definitly enough power. Yet turn the key and the starter motor doesn't even try to kick it over.
Almost as if the engine has been immobilised. The central locking doesn't work, not sure if the battery in the key is flat or whether that is another issue as the red led on the key flashed when i pressed the button..
Do I need to reset something? Help Please
