  1. Did they give you your money back? Under the Consumer Guarantees Act they have to either fix the problem or give you your money back. Obviously the springs are too low so they should have put another brand in, or taken the springs back and given you your money back.
  2. 3words and 3 words only...... BOTANY MOTOR WORX!!! edit for spelling

kind of backs up my advice I tried to give in these old threads huh? http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=20284 http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....showtopic=20108 Good luck selling them you shouldn't have any problems!
  4. All I have is these pics at the mo, and they are both 17's.

  6. what about one big oval/rectangle tip rather than the twin tip?
  7. +1 and leave the diffuser how it is with the black insert
  8. As I said earlier take it back to Mag and Turbo and get them to remedy it. They cannot back out of it, if you simply asked them to lower your car. They are obliged by law to fix the problem as they have illegally lowered the car! Tell them that they have failed their obligations under the Consumer Guarantees Act. Also go to your local Citizens Advice Bureau and they will be able to help you out with the relevant sections of the Consumer Guarantees Act. Good luck.
  9. If they are on 205's now my guess is they will be on a 7" wide rim. It is all stamped on the wheel anyway so will be easy to figure out. The 225's will go on the 7" rim but are more ideally suited to the 8" rims.
  10. 205/60/16's and 225/55/16s are the SAME size. IE the overall diameter is the the same.
  11. Welocme to Bimmersport, awesome looking car!! Being an M3 there is probably not a lot that you can do to make it hadle any better.
  12. very very cool......... now I just need to convince the wife that we NEED it
  13. Haha very true. I wonder if he can name the tyre that the Direzza superseeded?
  14. How is that of any help to the original post? And who said that? If you are going to make inflammatory statements like those above please back them up with proof.
  15. Hi Ray welcome to Bimmersport! It sounds to me as if you have 'scalloped tyres'. This will be the cause of the whine and unfortunately the only way to cure it is to buy new tyres (see your friendly forum sponsor. hint hint ) The easiest way to check is to run your hands from the front of the tyre to the back on the inside and outside shoulders. It will feel like a scallop shell ( hence the term scalloped tyres). You should be able to feel the bumps. It may also pay to check the manufacture date on your tyres as older tyres go hard and become more prone to scalloping. Hope this helps Johno
  16. I don't know about others but I am getting sick of your "holier than thou attitude", and you continually running down other people's vehicles. $1000 spent on a pair of Bridgestones is not "cheap" tyres. Maybe in your world $1000 is a drop in the hat but to the majority of people $500 a tyre is alot of money. and............ quoting in MPG?? what is wrong with that, I know plenty of people who still prefer to use MPG. I don't understand your logic sometimes????????? How do you get to MPG = "thrashed English Import"???? I am not going to go into a meaningless and pointless debate with you so will just say my piece and move on.Mods feel free to give me a warning if I have breached any rules, I am not going to say anymore EOR
  17. I would say that the seller has his facts wrong. Those wheels will not be a +10 offset, probably more like a +40 as they need to be quite high to tuck under a Legnum's guards. I don't know where he shops but $500 for a Nankang? and $5k for the wheels alone????? I sell the new Goodyear Eagle F1 for far less!! To quote a great line from a brilliant movie " Tell him he's dreaming!"
  18. I agree it is a safety issue, hence why I said get the tyres replaced as soon as possible. Mike has still not given us the exact specs of the wheel so until we get them from us it is all speculation as to whether or not the wheels are actually incorrect.
  19. looks like they only work if you don't have EDC. Both the 7's I have had, have all had EDC as standard.
  20. Great to hear that it is all sorted now Mike. I would suggest you look at replacing those front tyres as soon as you can.
  21. HAHA - your nickname is not Bunsen Honeydew by any chance is it? We can guess all we like about the likely cause of the problem but until all the info is given to us I guess it is like picking at straws. The wheels may be off a 7 series, but I am also thinking that the tyres may be too tall. We will just have to wait until Mike gives us the correct info and then we can accurately diagnose the problem. You are 100% correct in saying that changing tyres to a smaller diameter is not the right fix.
  22. Hi Mike I have been reading through this post and looking at the comments that have been made to TRY and help you. Some of the advice that has been given seems to be helpful while some of it is complete rubbish, or to use a favourite word form a certain member; Muppets! To be able to help you accurately we really need to know the following: 1. The size and width of the wheel and the offset: eg as Spotswoode said 17x8.5 ET(offset) +13. This will be marked on the inside of the wheel so you will need to take the wheel off, as Nick suggested. 2. The size tyre you are using eg. 235/45/17. We really need the complete info on the tyre, not just the width, as the aspect ratio is also important in determining the overall height of the tyre. 3. Whether or not the front and rear wheels and tyres are the same all the way around. What did the pre-purchase inspection say about the condition of the front shocks? It looks from your photos as if the tyre has been rubbing when turning which suggests that either a- your shocks are worn, or b, your tyres are too tall. If you can supply me with the information asked for above we will be able to give you an ACCURATE assessment of the problem and how best to solve it. cheers Johno
