unfortunately we only have adobe reader so can't copy it, wil have to think of some other way
  2. be wary of going too low. A mate of mine had an E46 coupe and wanted to go stupidly low. He ended up with a $6k bill to pay because by going extremely low he put too much stress on the rear subframe and ended up ripping the bushings out of the floorplan!!

silly little asian people sent the pic through on a PDf file with about 100 other wheels. I have no idea how to save it and then load up here, will try and get them to take a photo and resend to me in jpeg format. rough description, 10 spoke wheel in hyper silver with machined dish looks to be about 50mm. cheers
  4. lol at the crowbar, that and a hammer are the 'best tools' in a 'real' mechanics toolbox haha based in Penrose and in New lynn on Saturdays, welcome to pop in anytime. send me a txt on 021-729494 or click the wheel and tyre sponsors link, will take you to our website and you should be able to find contact numbers there cheers Johno
  5. Offset is 100% correct then. Unfortunately you can't safely change offsets on wheels. I have come across this problem before and it is not the tyre rubbing on the guards, it rubs on a little plastic thing at the back of the rear guards, and sometimes a tiny bit on the very back of the guard, only happens when you lower the car around the 45-50mm mark. very easy to fix. Have you had a wheel alignment done at all on the car? Sometimes the alignment can be a bit out which can also contribute to rubbing. With your size wheels and tyres it shouldn't rub. 225/40/18's perfect size pop in any time we have stores in New Lynn and Penrose, I am based in Penrose and we should be able to fix your rubbing pretty quickly cheers Johno
  6. 35 et will do it!! when you want some wheels give me a holla, we have 20's in stock that we need to clear
  7. it is strange that they rub on the front especially on the outside. how low is your car? Being 8" wide and running a 225/40 you really shouldn't have any issues with rubbing. Have you checked the offset of the wheels? they should be between 35-45. Are they genuine motorsport wheels or replicas? Genuine wheels on an E46 run a higher offset from factory so if anything the should sit in further. If the car is not lowered at all it sounds like you may have a 5 series offset wheel on there.
  8. whereabouts in Aucks are you/ maybe I could pop out and have a look sometime. The offset should be stamped on the inside of the wheel near the 20x8.5. You will need to make sure the spacer sits snugly on the hub. Are your wheels multi stud or just 5x120? If they are multi stud you may need to cut the head of the studs in half to make sure that the top of the stud sits inside the bolt hole. hope that makes sense? I have been down this path before with bolt on adaptors and know the pain (especially to your wallet) that it can cause cheers Johno PS what make and model wheels do you have? maybe I can track them down and find out the offset

have just found a 17" dished wheel that will bolt straight on 17 x 7 at 30et from one of our suppliers. We are just about to do another wheel order to will put a pic up tomorrow to gauge interest
  10. wouldn't jump to conclusions quite so quick re emissions rules, parliament breaks up in 2.5 weeks for the year, and nothing has even remotely tried to be passed into law.
  11. ps what size and how wide are your wheels?
  12. what do you mean by sitting on the coilovers? Do you mean the wheels are hitting on the inside strut? Or are the tyres hitting on the bottom of the spring plate? If they are hitting on the inside of the strut your best to get new wheels - spacers are prob going to give you a pretty bad vibration, and open up a whole new can of worms. If buying new wheels is not an option check the offset of the wheels if they are around 35 they will be for 3 series, if they are around 15 they should be the correct offset. If they are 35 you will need the bolt on spacers. Make sure they are hub centric ie fit snugly on your hub without any gap - need to be 74.1mm diameter. I am not sure if the adaptors come with a 74.1 or 73.2 centre, if they are 73.2 you will have to get them machined out which is going to add more cost! You may be able to get away with no spacers at the back, however they will sit a long way in. Let us know how you get on with the offset check. cheers Johno

spacers are not illegal if they are either fixed to the hub of the vehicle or fixed to the wheel itself. Fixed means attached so that can not come off, ie they should be screwed or bolted on. Remember also that you will have to run longer studs as well.If your spacers are attached the car STILL requires an LVV cert to make it 100% legal. As said above it is a bit of a grey area and some 'friendly' WOF outlets may let it through.
  17. drives fine on the 22's just a tiny bit of rub on lock on the plastic guard liners on the front.
  18. we have a silver 735 in Hamo at the moment. It is silver with black leather and has already been lowered. We really want to sell it though so will probably be put on a nice set of replica 19's.
  19. ride is fine - more rubber than a 225/35/19. The whole idea is for it to attract some attention outside our shop. We were going to lower it but decided not to as when we go to sell it it will be put back to standard, and lowering these things takes a loooonng time. You have to remove the back seat, parcel tray, blind etc.
  20. when we go to sell it we will prob put a nice set of 18's or 19's on it, but for the moment its all about the bling!!
  21. yeah 22's tend to stand out!
  22. some of you will love it..................... some of you will hate it.................. but it sure as h*ll attracts a lot of attention!!

HI Blairthose wheels will definitely not work on your E30. They will hit the inside struts and the wheel will not turn once bolted up. I currently have wheels in stock that will work, although they are 16's not 17's unfortunately. We also have a shop in NP that can help you out, PM for details. cheers Johno
