might I suggest 225/35/19's front and 255/30/19's rear, should help fix the 'rubbing issue'

You can put up to 19x8 wheels on a Ti, but biggest we tend to recommend is 18". Lowering springs is relatively straight forward, however if you put E36 sedan or coupe springs in it will not lower it that much - I am pretty sure the Ti is lighter in the front than an E36. Keith aka Suspension will be able to confirm this. Hope this helps some more

be careful this guy has heaps of cars in stock that CAN NOT be registered. Maybe this one is a fresh import? I was looking at one he had earlier this year, and he was quite evasive when I asked some 'reasonable' questions regarding compliance and registration. If you do try and re-export, then import you will still run into all sorts of trouble. There are minimum lengths of time that a car must stay overseas, can be quite a headache.Best to do a whole lot of research, then go and see the guys at the IMVDA, very very helpful people.

bugger! I drove past it on Monday on the way back from Gisborne. It was on the side of the road at Ohope Beach. My partner pointed it out, but I was in a huge freight train of traffic and couldn't be bothered turning around to view it.

ok after much research, telephoning around and being constantly laughed at , I have come to the conclusion that you are better off buying new 20's or 22's! (from me LOL) It seems that the only 21" tyres that are available are 245/35/21 and 285/30/21 which was/is a factory option on BMW 7's. You may be able to find something overseas. Hope those wheels are really heavy cos it seems the only thing they are good for is scrap metal last time I checked alloy was $2.20+ a kg

haha it's amazing what a bit of looking does, I take it it is the silver 01 X5 sportpac which should have come out on. 255/50/19 and 285/45/19 factory which would indicate that it needs a 285/35/21. This is slightly closer in overall diameter than a 325/30/21, and probably easier to find. But it will all come down to what is available in this country, I hope you are sitting down when I let you know a price

I will have a look at work tomorrow and see what is available, I have a 21" tyre floating around at work but I am sure it was for a 7 series. Some muppet wanted it then never turned up and cos it was bought on special I wasn't allowed to return it. 285/30 sounds too small, we usually put a 305/30/22 on the rear, so that tyre would be way too small.It all depends what model X5 it is, so to give you a really accurate price will need to know year, particular model etc

maybe you need to slow down over the speed humps

you won't regret it, ours has done at least 200 cars now and still going strong

just be careful that is enough 'meat' left between the back of the wheel and the bottom of the stud hole. It has to be a minimum of 6mm from memory, any less and it can weaken the wheel and lead to all sorts of problems (ie wheel falling off), then the real shennanigans begins when the SCU determines what the cause was.... lawsuits etc etc etc

this one works heaps better than the small cheap ones. the small ones tend to wear the threads out pretty quickly as they are not really designed for lots of use.

For $140 you can't go wrong, we have the same unit at work and use it most if the time, heaps quicker than using the wall mounted unit. Can be a bit fiddly to pull the spring down evenly - wwhich is where the wall mounted unit kills it. As I said though $140 = BARGAIN!

Hi charliewill depend on the width wheel you are running. 18x7.5 - 18 x 8 35 et or higher 18x9 (rear) AT LEAST a 45et or you will get guard rub on the rear. I see in your other post you are looking for springs, I may be able to help you out, also with wheels if you need them, cheers Johno

I think you missed the point 3 pedals, charliec wants as low as possible, and I think secondly wants reasonable handling.I would agree with lidistick, get new shocks, if and when you can afford it. It will make a world of difference, it also makes sense to change them while you have got the struts out and putting new springs in. There are heaps of springs out there but would personally go for H&R or Jamex. Dobi's are crap but will probably lower your car the most, but will handle the worst. As for Kings.... seems funny but the two worst spring makes are Aussie.

with a 60mm drop you generally need shortened shocks too.

any panelbeater/car painter should be able to do it, I have had it done from $400 up to $1000 depending on paint type amount needed etc. My old 7 was about $600 from memory. It pays to call around ans prices vary hugely.

Trust me colour coding the skirts (and the bottom of the front and rear bumpers) makes the car look so much better, have done it to at least 5 cars now and makes the car look much sportier.

yep definitely my old car - glad it went to a good home, had a few muppets come round, and had hepas of people wanting to buy wheels or wanting to know where I got them from... blah blah blah.... I am sure you will enjoy it Chris, wil be great to see what mods you make to it!

not really helping guys, if you really want to change the wheels you can't go past a good set of 17's or 18's. Euro style wheels alsways look good but if bling bling is your thing....... go for that instead
