Sounds like head gasket, take out the spark plugs a check for water in the cyl bore.
-
Do you have any spark at the coil? If so, follow the ign system through to the point where it disappears (spark plugs do not like being drowned). If not, you will probably need to look at the crank sensor or ECU.

Engine management temp sensor can cause this type of issue. It is the blue/green one in the thermostat housing. It should have around 2.9K ohm resistance when cold, and this resistance should fall as temp rises.

Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this forum and made it so user friendly. Extra thanks to all those who we have been able to assist with their parts needs. Have a great Christmas and New Year, we will be closed until 11/01/10 but all go after that. Drive sober, stay safe.

Saw someone hit a parked car & leave a note but they wrote it in around 2 seconds. Had a look and sure enough it was a dummy, so I added the culprits rego and a contact number. I hate carparks.

No problem with having teeth drilled & filled, what p*ssed me off was having a numb face for hours afterwards. So have refused the injections for about 15 years now. During this time have had 2 PJCs and 3 or 4 fillings without drugs and when its over its over.

If your car has Motronic ignition (Disy on front of head) it may be the engine management sensor (Blue/Green 2 pin sensor in thermostat housing) They should have approx 2.9K ohm resistance across the terminals when cold, and this should drop as engine temp rises. -
Doubtful Repco would stock these anyway, as they are an MLS gasket.

Found - E36 Floating Rotors 286x22
euroitalian replied to volcanoblack's topic in Brakes, Suspension & Steering
Just heard back from the Zimmerman guys, and even allowing for freight, price would work out higher than the ones quoted above. Worth a try though. -
I have been told these tend to burn a little more oil if full synthetic is used as opposed to semi-syn. Whats your experience with this Glenn?

I run Spybot, Adaware, & the pay for it version of AVG with antispyware on Mozilla, never had a problem, but system scan was making applications so slow I had to add another 1/2gig of ram.

Also make sure when bleeding the system, that the heater is set on HOT.

Those are the guys that go broke and drag down their suppliers and other creditors then blame the economy.

Sounds like a bad contact somewhere, check & clean the battery cable connections from battery to starter and battery to earth. Definitely have the charging system checked, as it may be overcharging.
-
The clutch Pressure/Cover plate is also different from 3/84, so complete kit would probably resolve any conflicts.
-
I do not know which bearing suits that box but they definitely use different release bearings after 3/84. I can probably find either drawings or photos if this would help.

Most likely the belt is loose, or worn out & loose if it has been doing this for a while.
