Interesting. My 1st BMW was a E30 320i, and my 2nd and current one is an E36 325i... Maybe my next Bimmer will have to be a 525i
-
Has it sold yet? I may do an impulse buy... its fecking cheap tho it has a few km
-
How much for the blue bodykit?
-
Maybe too scared to drive it when they notice how much other people's 8 series are costing them to fix...
Saying that, I'd own it. What the hell else like it can you find for $40k!?
-
Are you Michael Schumacher, or could he just not drive? Because those Legacys handle okI took the 740 (4.4 V8) from Auckland to Gisborne and back, averaged 9.6km/100km and that was driving the car HARD though the gorge from Opotiki to Matawhai(?). With EDC on and using steptronic mode left many a car (even a guy in a legacy TT wagon - he was pissed off) for dust through the twisty stuff!
-
WTFE38 740i ... I'm not getting any slip on wet or dry fast runs up the Rimutaka Hill either.
how is this possible?!?!
V8 BMW + fast + Rimutakas should always = lots of smoke

I think the legislation was referring to exhaust emissions, not exhaust noiseI agree with threeoneeight, you can't crush a car on the side of the road, how many check points are operational at one time, heaps! So every checkpoint is going to have one??? Complete joke!
Another thing, the exhaust noise thing for a w.o.f is also pointless, w.o.fs are a safety check, if you have a louder exhaust than standard that's not unsafe to the vehicle, excessively noisey is stupid don't get me wrong but not unsafe!
Cheers.
A lil off topic but totally agree with bravo about further driver training. The most difficult thing I went thru to get my licence was reversing Dad's ute around a corner, and that was to get my restricted, not the full. I mean, cummon... Thats ridiculous. Is anybody else thinking licences from a weetbix box here?

Well I've noticed that the Pirelli P6000 M+S I had were supposed to be thrown away when they got to 3mm....
-
What???WOFTAM
-
Cool... about the only thing I got from there that I didn't know was the month of manufacture
-
The tyre rule is fair enough
Emissions rule is a bit of a nightmare to read thru... So glad I don't work for LTNZ!

nah I think stubbies and mullets are pretty much gone again ayeDont forget the only difference between a boyracer and a petrolhead is 20+yrs, i'm not far off that guys age and i'm not going to change my style for anybody. Especially as the younger generation are now starting to wear the same fashion i was wearing 20+ yrs ago.
dunno bout the boyracer thing tho... i seem to associate the term with modded jap cars, or the word "faggot" LOL...
Yes, I'm 20. And have a Jap car in the garage. And wear stubbies... but I'm different!

lol yeah seen a few of these around on the net. scary stuff!A mate of mine who used to live in S.A. had a flame thrower over his sills! Seriously!
the prob with weapons is that when you give the maggots what they're asking for and the cops get involved, the cops turn on you and sh!t down YOUR throat

haha "vajority"!!

WTF... 340i
i wonder how you say "f@&%ing mental" in German haha
-
LOL btw... don't try using no air filter at all. I tried that, and she kept conking out
-
My 2 cents...You got it, although the Pod may still just give you more noise after the pipe job because you will struggle to get a really good cold air supply and higher flow.
Pay more attention to the exhaust and you may get what you could get out of a pod but without the drama and noise - unless of course you want the noise in which case just cut the front out of the standard air box and throw the snout away, equal or better than most "performance pods".
De-cat, stick a coby in, and cold airbox
Ive done the de-cat and coby, but only using a pod
Im in a '94 325iA. Makes a nice rumble around town- no real ghey droney auto noise to speak of. Going hard, it sounds pretty mental, the way the gearbox shifts- like a manual being flatshifted. Wheee!
Not TOOO sure how much diff the CAI would make over a pod, altho most 95% of my drivings on the open road so probly not too much hot air under there to get sucked in
Tell ya what. I did the pod 1st- took her for a test, 5 people in the car, and she was still noticably faster. Then the coby, and just by myself she was a bit quicker again, but im not sure if the performance jump was as big as shoving the pod on
temp sensors just dangling there. doesnt seem to be confusing the computer by not being directly in the airflow- but a CAI system would have a place for the temp probe to go in so id advise that as your best bet
phew, what a flippin novel...
headers should be interesting may be pricey tho. I went for two very cheap and easy mods... didnt want to be throwing too much money at her to go faster
-
Well heres a starting point for you... de-cat and plonking in a coby resonator makes a nice difference (on my M50B25)Masny thanks for that mate. I shall have to investigate doing just that. Firstly going with the free flowing exhaust. Any recommendations?? As in bigger pipe dimensions or just free flowing mufflers???
agree with the high end of the m50... mines coby'd and podded, and the top ends great compared to the various z3's, 5's and 3's with 2.8L motors that ive driven
however...
that massive torque difference... mate, im a total 2.8 fan

hey there Ray
