  1. Yeh, I saw this one but it's a bit smaller than the pic of the car I am modeling off. One in my pic is like twice as big!
  2. lol so confused now... they do fit, they don't fit, they do fit, they don't. Ahh! Nick021 can't you just go down and chuck them on and see ?
  3. Cheers for the replies guys, will start to weigh up the options .
  4. Yeh like silver M6 . Your car/driving is amazing, I still can't get over how fast the laps were. Had such a blast in the passenger seat, extra bonus because your car is LHD so it felt like I was in the driver seat! Really appreciate the heads up, I had such a blast. I felt a bit left out though as I was pretty much the only "stock" car out there. Everyone else meant business! Also made me realize how much of a bad driver I am lol, I was barely keeping up with the 318's lol. Took some vid's, will post them up once I get them off the camera.
  5. Thats why you get deep dish BBS's Yes, I did take them to the track but it's not like they got curbed or damaged or anything. No fake sh*t here, original BBS from mag and turbo.
  6. That is always the priority... I always keep her in tip top shape. I am talking about what ever spare I have left .
  7. Not sure, will find out.
  8. Haha, any excuse for a road trip! As long as you foot the $500 petrol bill it will cost me
  9. Any ideas where I can find these? You know those spoilers that fit on the rear window.
  10. lol, well you do have the upper hand mate. You live in Auckland... If these were in Christchurch and I could see them up front AND they fit I really doubt I could hold back. I am still unsure... are you 100% certain?
  11. Can you please be a bit more specific ? Very impressed with hp + 1/4 mile times you are getting. I'm looking to ad a bit more punch to my 3.0 also.
  12. Not sure, come have a look anytime .
  13. Hmmm. I know it's already been extensively tuned and will always put a smile on my face when I give it stick. You know how it is though, always looking for more >.<
  14. Yep, forgot about that. Pre-purchase inspection is a must! best $100 you will ever spend (and don't do it at AA). Go to a BMW specialist, If you are in Auckland I would recommend either BMW... or Guido Locher from www.bmworkshop.co.nz he did a fabulous in depth inspection for me before.
  15. Edit: There is a set of mags I have my eye on so these are back on the market. Thinking to upgrade so the BBS's need to go first. 4x 235/40 Toyo Proxy Tyres included (still fair bit of tread), however some wearing on the edges as they have been on the track twice. Minor curbing on edges (nothing noticeable from a few meters back). I spent ages looking for these, extremely hard to find and cost an arm and a leg brand new (was quoted over $800 a mag from magandturbo). As some of you probably already know, I am in no rush to sell these so realistic offers only please. PM for further details.
  16. Yeh, I saw these... look sooo sooooooo sexy! Anyone know if these will fit an E36??
  17. Just curious what people out there have done to boost the performance of their E36 M3's and what sort of gains they achieved i.e. noticeable or not. I am talking about fairly basic mods (not turbos, supercharges or leaf blowers for that matter) . I was thinking of starting off with cat removal, however after speaking with the mechanic he suggested it probably would not change much (then again I really wonder what he knows about M3's.. as it seemed he did not really know what the car was). p.s. Car is completely stock.
  18. I had a good 325I for a while. Found a clean engine, kept it serviced and it stayed that way was very reliable for me. As everyone has mentioned, there are plenty of resources online but here are some things I came across in my old car. 1. Cloth interior wears easily, doors, roofs have a tendency to sag so don't be surprised if you see this. 2. Circuitry seemed to be a bit "touch and go" at times (especially break lights failing etc..), I also had an issue with the ABS unit. I constantly had to replace bulbs for some reason but that may have been due to the after market tail lights installed. But mechanically, it truly was solid and never missed a beat. Note: the Japanese imports have a Japanese transmission (automatics) and when they are cold the gear changes are a bit sluggish but should smoothen up as soon as car is warm, I was told this is normal. Nothing major really and it held up strong for the entire duration I had the car (and still is) as I sold it to a good mate of mine . Just BE SURE to find a good clean engine that has a service history and I am sure you will have plenty of stress free motoring. Unless you are really prepared to pay, I would not recommend a 325/328 auto as they chew through the petrol (manuals are not too bad). However, 318's are soooo gutless it's not funny so its really a matter of what you are after. The best model I would recommend is probably the 323 as it's got a bit of kick and won't sting your pocket. With a bit of searching and good luck, $4K should be enough to find a decent mileage clean 3 series. Good luck!
  19. Right, I am pretty keen but I don't have a fixed fire extinguisher in my car nor do I have "race" overalls. Are these an absolute MUST at this meet? We only had to bring race helmets to the on I attended last week. Anyhow, I will most likely show up regardless if I am going to race or not as it would be awesome to meet up with fellow bimmersport track enthusiasts .
  20. How much does it cost to become a member and whats the best method to sign up ?
  21. Agreed, I have driven this car and was actually pretty close to buying it at one stage. Thankfully I snapped out of it, there is something not right about it... certainly does not feel or look like it has 80,000kms on the clock! Took me about 6 months of serious searching to eventually find my baby. Keep an eye out, be patient and soon you will find a minta ! As jtomo mentioned, don't worry about petrol as M3's are actually surprisingly economical when driven normally (which can prove to be difficult ). If there are any M3's you keen on in Christchurch, I would be more than happy to check them out for you and give you an opinion.
  22. Thanks! Definitely a very fun track to be on. I am actually pretty keen to go again, what time are you guys going in next Friday? I will post once I know anything next time!
  23. Cheers guys, umm the toyos are not as good as my old eagle f1's but they seemed to do ok on the track.
  24. EDIT: Added eye brows ! Thats the front finished, plan to get rear spoiler / lip spoiler and rear windows spoiler to finish off the rear. Not too many mods since last time but thought I would share the progress none the less. I Installed angel eyes and replaced front brake rotors to aftermarket Brembo's. Opted to go with the "non slotted" model as they were like a billion times cheaper. However in hind sight (after my track day experience) I think throwing some money on the brakes is actually a VERY good idea. Maybe go for full blown Brembo break kit next time . Finally a good old wax and leather wipes for the interior. Shame the front facing photos turned out horrible (bad lighting) and me being a newbie at photography .
