If you are serious about it, I would just get a pre-purchase check from a BMW specialist (chch bmw perhaps). I did this when I was after buying a car in Auckland and was a great investment.

Oh so you only have one halo on each light?? Pic is looking good man
-
how much you looking to pay? I may consider selling my kick ass BBS CH rims.
-
Same boat as dylan, flick me a message if things get desperate. I am in the market for an M3 but my current price range is for the 3.0 models.
-
Good stuff, I would also recommend some eye lids and blue xenon bulbs all round (including spotties). They really set it off! Then it's just a matter of... Park lights on... Check. Headlights off... Check. Spotties on... Check. Meaaaaan looking bmw in everyones rear view mirror !

Bugga . I really doubt you can find a singe halo but if you do, I will be more than happy to help you install it. Have done a few now so kinda know whats going on.

awesome ! I was watching this car on trademe a while back (saw your profile pic), seemed real nice.

I have not actually purchased the damaged car yet Yuen but I am looking at my options. I agree with you guys, it would be million times better if the original M3 could be repaired but from the looks of it lets just say "shes buggered". I know that it will never be an original M3 with a swap, but it will be damn close... I will be able to get everything from the damaged car (the only difference being the shell). But I guess resell value and ROI (if you can call it that) won't be so flash, which is a big worry. Hmmmm, still keen to hear if anyone has attempted this before, or knows of someone who has! P.S. inside scoop: seems like the original owner bought it from a yard for 30k, had it for two weeks, no insurance and got drunk and smacked it into a tree / pole or whatever. Man, that just pissed me off seeing the car in a state like that especially when it got totaled because it's owner was a complete moron!

As most of you know, there is this damaged M3 here in Christchurch. I got it checked out by a reputable BMW panel beater and the quote to repair it was huge (over 11k) as there turned out to be a lot more damage than we expected. so I figured I should look into plan B which is... take everything form the EVO (running gear, brakes, diffs, suspension, computer, looming, dash & airbags, interior etc..) and chuck it into my car (93 325I coupe, auto). I know it might be a bit of a long shot but just before I go off and waste a lot of research time into if its an actual option, I figured it would be good to see if anyone has actually done this or knows it can be done. Cheers in advance

Mine is by far the best option ! just search "crzarb" on trademe.

Amazing car man, now all you have to do is stick on trademe for 50k+ and follow the trend of E30 M3's appearing from no where!

Good on ya man, great news! You had us all worried for a while there lol. -
Dude is a retard, and no one is stupid enough to fall for his scam.
-
What did the inspection bring up? Did they pick a faulty vanos?
-
Thats the sad thing, I don't recall doing anything to provoke them... I've been here for 13 years and thats the first time I have experience blatant racism like that.
-
Yep, sadly there is a lot of f**king scum around. Was cruising around Chch with some mates last weekend and some racist f**ks started to bottle our cars and yelling sh*t out like "We hate arabs", "Go home"... Took their plate numbers, parked up and called the cops. Cops arrive and tell us "You should not be driving around town at this time of night, you guys are just asking for trouble, sorry there is nothing we can do". I guess that's what I get for having a "humorous number plate". Seems like the only way around this is to kick the living sh*t out of them so they think twice next time.
-
Welcome ! Hope to see you around Chch.

http://www.maxbimmer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=95232 Now ^ That ^ is one sexy E36... But my all time fav would have to be "Jon Sibal's" wide body...

I did not imagine it would go up to 30K!! That number is just plain insane for a messed up car... But hey, someone thought it would be worth it.

I came across this Aussie article where they reviewed a mint 1994 M3 that had done 90,000 kms. They are trying to give prospective buyers an idea of what to expect from an aged M3. Most of the points seemed very nice however I came across a point of concern.... "we doubt you’d achieve better than around 7 or 8 seconds 0 – 100 km/h in normal conditions. " With 210kw, surely they are quicker than that (even if you are an average driver)... Article below: http://autospeed.com/cms/A_4007/article.html

So the car in question here is: E36 3.0L M3 81,000kms and in Auckland... I hope it's not the one from AutoLink cars ! ? -
probably cheaper to save up and just get an M3 . Unless you are going to do most of the work yourself.
