  1. Okay buddy will upload a few momentarily
  2. Haha yeah, I just had a look and realised the price difference between the two. So again, I'll reduce the pride for e36 only mtech 2 steering wheel in good condition to $90
  3. I was told yesterday that it does not fit e30 sorry buddy
  4. Have a bare block m50b25 vanos block that I was going to use, but bought the whole engine instead! It's in sound condition, but will probably need a bore as it has the typical 'lip' in the bore. Looking for only around $50 for the block. Pickup in Lower Hutt. Also have many e36 coupe parts so ask if you're interested!
  5. Price reduced to $125 for the steering wheel. Excellent condition e36 m-tech 2 steering wheel.
  6. Haha thanks again bud! Do it! No excuses. Unless it's money. Sell yourself on the street? Hah
  7. What's wrong with a crescent! Haha. I hate them with a passion but it's the only thing I had (except vice grips) that was wide enough to hold the cams in place when I tightened them Today was awesome. I finalised the prep on my head and block, wiped her down, installed the front timing cover and chucked the head on! It was good, luckily I had my girlfriends' sister to feed the timing chain through so it didn't fall into the cavity! I've never done a head, I couldn't believe the tightness of the head bolts for a relatively thin diameter bolt. Wow. I now see why they're only one time use! A few piccys. Overlooking it's unsuspecting victim... Looking pretty good in black.. Will give it a final sand and spray before it all goes into the Ti. Looking forward to the next few weeks! Turn key should be not too far away. And then time to attack everything else Have a good night all. Nick
  8. 4.4 too low ratio sorry buddy. I'm looking for at least 3.5 or higher, so I can at least drive on the motorway
  9. Haha thanks gents. She's definitely a rare breed, and gorgeous too which certainly helps Off to work now. Head on tomorrow. Have a beer for me!
  10. Got my cams in today. Again, super thankful for the pelican parts website rundown on cam installation. Had some help holding the cams at their 'sweet spot' by my better half. Pretty cool that she likes what I'm doing, and is the one who encouraged me to undertake this project! Starting to come along very nicely now. Am going to chuck the head gasket on tomorrow and follow the pelican parts tutorial for timing and VANOS install. Then it's a short climb to the finish! Planning on having the engine and manual turn-key in the next week or 2. Exciting! Then on to thinking about other things. Turbo, coilovers, better wheels, paint. Mmm. Have a good Sunday everyone!
  11. Thanks for that!!! I do agree to some extent. I see now that those diffs will be few and far between and makes much more sense to just do it now! If I was to get something like an e28 diff, would I be able to put my 318to rear cover on it, as this is the same as the e30 right? (E30 being a direct bolt in to the Ti). What would make me most happy for now would be the 318ti manual diff, which is 3.45(ish) ratio. That wouldn't be too ridiculous, and I just wouldn't smash the heck out of it until I went lsd
  12. I have an m-tech 2 steering wheel from e36 coupe for sale: in great condition, apparently they are quite rare. Would be looking for around $200 for it (have seen them on trade me for around 300-350 but that's a bit ridiculous I think). Can upload pictures. Cheers, Nick
  13. I will go LSD eventually but just want something cheap to tide me over until I start on the turbo business
  14. Looking for an e30 manual diff (3.47 or lower) and half shafts for my 318ti m50 project for as little as poss live in Wellington area but can also consider shipping.
  15. Thanks buddy. Yes, both Glenn and Crunchy have been super helpful so far, I have read a lot of Glenn's posts and he's clearly a guy who knows what he's talking about. Same goes for crunchy, his machines are immense and I'll definitely be talking to him more closer to the turbo stage I think the most I've done on a car before this is install a new ignition barrel and change a rocker cover gasket on a '89 corolla. Pretty big jump! But I'm a firm believer that if somebody has done it before me, there's not too many reasons that I can't do it myself! Cheers
  16. Thanks to everyone who is commenting. Again I'll say that this has been a huge learning curve for me, but I love it. Along with that I am thankful for the advice given by everyone so far. I a perfect world I would have every single BMW special tool, a shop and a lift to myself, and a nice big tool chest with space for everything. But as crunchy said I am doing the best with what I've got and where I can! Thanks
  17. Interesting! He must have kept exhaust and intake separate then or they wouldn't have fit... Haha.
  18. That sounds good buddy, sent you a PM
  19. Hey buddy, just standard blue leather seats. Am in welly too so freight would have been free!
  20. Hey buddy, how much for the small case diff?
  21. Thanks buddy! I've got the bug... Can see me taking this way over the top haha! Love what you're doing with your car too.
  22. Thanks Glenn. Awesome resource. I love what you're doing with your bastard child haha
  23. Hey buddy, thanks for the reply. I am correct in assuming the e36 diff is not just a 'bolt in' to the ti, but the e30 is? How did you manage that?
  24. Hello everyone I just want a quick yay or nay. I've had a look around but can't seem to find a definite answer. I am wondering if I can take the gearing out of my 325is diff and put into my 318ti diff. Some out there say it's a direct replacement, some say not compatible. Regards
