  3. Not logged in for a while, but have a modded 135i with some vids to share. Vs B58 Supra stage 2 tuned on e30 ethanol mix https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OOyhD5VhMUU Vs R32 GTR Skyline https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24jSVcYPyUg Vs JDM and a 335i https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5WgWnqrNe4
  4. hmm guy I talk to with a 135i has a pen mark too, just on one side. so seems like it might be a normal thing.
  5. A friend just had a PPI done on this car and they mentioned these marks on the left and right chassis rails. Are these normal factory markings? My identical model car doesn't seem to have them, but its also black rather than white and would be hard to see.
  6. I reckon try a 2009 ish Audi S3, will be similar to what you're used to in a much more refined package. Mmm whoops this is bimmersport not vask.org.nz ummmm 335i
  7. Car is SOLD and I got my 14k I wanted It sold a bit quicker than expected and I ended up with no car, so bought a cheap Commodore for 1300 as a run about.. good ole VT heh, Audi was sold off a few months back.
  8. This is my 2007 530i, LCI Motorsport, 104,800km japanese service history showing all servicing from new until late last year, first Reg in NZ Jan this year. I like this car, however I just can't justify owning it to drive 4.7k to work and back each day. ( I used to have a 70k a day commute, but changed Jobs). 5 Months remains on the Autosure warranty, no known issues. Vin Decode: https://www.etkbmw.com/bmw/EN/vin/decoder/CU35233/EN Looking for 14k, which seems to be a good price for the LCI in motorsport trim going by other cars for sale. Has the N52K engine which is 200kw, but without the hassles of the N53 Direct Injection engine.
  9. Turns out they only replaced the filter/sender unit not the actual fuel pump, had the car back a week now, smells really strongly of fuel inside since I got it back, i guess they let fuel spray everywhere when they replaced the part.. even leaving the windows down in the garage for days, then driving the car and leaving it locked at work for the day, you get back in and it stinks bad... idiots.. wish i had just fixed it myself, i would have de-pressurized the pump, or covered everything so that this didn't happen..
  10. Today marks 10 days since I took this to the mechanic to get this fuel leak issue repaired, they had parts arrive for it 2-3 days ago, but the wrong ones were sent (fittings were wrong) and now its waiting for an air freight shipment (another 1-2 weeks). (the warranty company wouldn't pay for genuine parts) . The new parts are coming from a place called http://www.speed.co.nz/page.php?pid=33 who claim to use parts that are of OE quality. I still don't understand why they need to replace the actual fuel pump, as the left (where I took the pic from) is a fuel filter of sorts, not the actual pump.. but who knows, because I have a warranty and the dealer I purchased the car from is paying the excess I left it to them to sort out. Its a good thing the old Audi S6 hasn't sold.. as without it i'd be walking to work
  11. I took the Metal Plate off the left side rear seat and found this.
  12. ideally I want a spare wheel kit like this for my E60, as long as it fits my E60 530i M-Sport http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-5er-E60-E61-Nachrustsatz-Notrad-mit-Bereifung-Pannenset-inkl-Wagenheber-NEU-/272598190768?hash=item3f781e4ab0:g:Ql8AAOSwYXVY0Dtl BMW Part Number is 36110308889 Yeah its just the space saver type, but that is all there is room for, I don't like having nothing at all and will being doing a road trip in 3 weeks time. If you can supply this, email me at impreza20k@hotmail.com or PM me.
  13. After a drive I park the car in the garage and close the door, if I go back out to the garage later on I can smell raw fuel. I have not noticed the smell inside the car at all.. the fuel cap could be to blame? it seems too easy to open when its done up and clicks.. but maybe its meant to be easy to open. Any common causes? i thought about that filter that you can access under the rear seat.. it has a metal cap over it, so could prevent the smell entering the cabin perhaps.
  14. Thanks, yeah sticking with what I know. The old one is probably a more reliable platform overall, but thought an LCI 530i was a safe ish option.
  15. Totally different cars, hard to compare really, the BMW is a lot more refined and quiet, still rides firmly being a motorsport model, but a good balance between comfort and handling to me. I find the steering better and seats better etc with the E60, at first active steering felt a bit strange but am used to it now. I would estimate that its a good 20% more economical on fuel than the 370 too, the newer 200kw engine seems fairly good on fuel, although its the N52 version rather than the more economical N53 version. I never really got attached to the 370 and do not miss it at all now that its gone, had it for just over 1 year and only ran up 10,000ks in it. It was decently fast, but still felt average handling wise when pushing it around corners. 6 Months ago I changed jobs and stopped commuting 80k a day to work and back, that was reduced to 9k a day with the new job, so the BMW will mostly clock up k's on road trips etc If i feel that I need to drive something quicker I can take the my partners Audi S6 for a thrash, although its the older 2001 model with the 4.2L V8 and is probably not that much quicker in a straight line anyway (No where near as good as the BMW on corners), but has that V8 noise. The Audi feels quite old fashioned and heavy / body roll etc on corners, although i'm sure a newer model S6 would be totally different. Not a big fan of i-drive, might look at upgrading it from CCC to CIC spec eventually and do my own retrofit.
  16. Hmm my LCI 530i E60 just has the N52K so no direct injection, still has the same 200kw rating.. but fuel economy figures are not as good. Still, i'm probably better off without that direct injection.
  17. Its been a while, I sold my E39 BMW 530i Motorsport around a year ago, bought a Nissan Skyline 370GT, which I have now traded on a 2007 E60 530i Motorsport (LCI Model)
  18. Shipping + GST on the total amount is probably 4k on top of that 10k for the car mentioned. I would assume they aim for 5k profit approx, of course once they pay staff and other expenses the true margin is a lot less than that. They also have to cover the car under the CGA for the first 3 months, which is why they push those mechanical warranties, as this is a way of avoiding any liability.
  19. Car sold tonight, to a nice recently retired gent that also has a nice E38 740i , its a sad day, I think i will come to regret selling it, but 3 cars is too many for me.
  20. Cars still for sale, I had someone look today. Here is some Hi Res Pics
  21. The internet tells me the VQ37VHR is more economical than the 3.5L, but not by much, used all 330hp a couple of times in the last 2 days..for the odd blast. The last 2 days I've driven it to work in much lighter traffic than usual, also I think the dash says 7.7km per litre, which is nearer what you said i think hehe. I test drove the sedan model you had, the handling seems a bit sportier with the coupe, probably has a wider track etc but not sure.
  22. hehe the fuel economy is probably the worst thing so far, not sure what i'm averaging, but around 12L/100k or so. But I got a fuel card for all my commuting recently from work, so I don't pay for it anymore, so thought, what the heck, i'll get something gas guzzling with some power for not a lot of money.
  23. Selling the old beast, as I decided to try Jap for a while in the form of a Nissan V36 370gt Coupe. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=1010388147
  24. Very Nice car, great daily driver and good that its been looked after previously. I was tempted to buy it, but still have not go around to selling my 530i, which is already my 3rd E39 hehe
  25. Back in 2009 when I owned it. Now http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/bmw/auction-988723456.htm Had a good shell that car and was the best handling e30 I had out of the 3. Its still got the nice hood lining, but when I owned it, it had sport seats that had been re covered with the original material.
