  2. Early ones are higher compression as well=more power but can be more worn as they are older now
  3. Thats really nice! bet it sounds great
  4. ^^ haha nice one Grant. Poor bugger
  5. Upgrade to 325i ones, i dont have any issues (yet)
  6. That's one awesome car! Something for us e30 boys to aspire to
  7. Its at the hub at NZEFI yip DHC do tuning
  8. Ben is a real good sort and has alot of knowledge on exhaust science, and if he does not no the answer he will talk to someone who does rather than just "bodging it" I fully trust him with my car, hes the only other person i let drive it when I'm not around (thats a big thing for me lol) Let me no when you want to hit the track ill tag along in mine
  9. Oh and you have to take me for a ride in it after lol
  10. Mate you honestly cant go past Rangiora Exhaust centre, BUT you have to tell them you only want Ben to work on it. He is a genius (not that you could tell by talking to him lol) when it comes to welding and is very very tidy. The other guys are good but not in the same league
  11. NZEFI in chch, i found them to be pretty good all round , not perfect though. But they do have a better rep than most. Also Ive been hearing really good things from DHC motorsport, Ive talked to them and they really do no there stuff
  12. Franks sister is looking at a NZ new 1 owner Red 2002 Motorsport facelift 330i at the mo, 4dr 50,000km not sure if its leather yet shes bringing it out to me tomorrow to have a good look over it, it will be check over by a professional as well but ill do the initial look over to make sure its worth looking at. Think they want around 30k with a warranty, sound like a fair price? Ill have more details tomorrow Thoughts? cheers
  13. Nice dude your really making some good progress, are you sure you want to stick with an m50 2.5 ? they really aren't that powerful unless highly modded ($$)
  14. Dam thats a good score
  15. Right after all your guys input and help, I'm going to stick with the original rpm gauge I really wanted to use it in the first place but it was really hard to find someone with more knowledge than me to help. But like Ollie said the factory one "will look 100 times better and will probably cost less" Glen has so kindly offered to help (what a legend and a great guy) he has an immense knowledge on BMWs and is a big help, will keep you updated with the progress. Thankyou to all Riley
  16. Ok so ive decided to do it myself and fit an aftermarket gauge in the factory spot, I want the shift light lol and its fairly easy to mount a new gauge Here are my options 1) Option one is nice, its cheap (me poor at the moment) $75bucks! will fit nice, down side 10k rpm readout but i can live with that, and its got a shift light 2) Option two is very nice but im guessing expensive? Autogage model 2300 anyone got mates in the industry that could hook me up ? 3)Option three my favorite but im guessing very expensive? ill try find some pricing, perfect 8k rpm readout and shift light, will fit snug to
  17. Just taken apart the factory cluster, and taken out the factory RPM Tacho I think I'm going to fit an aftermarket one in the same spot. Ive gotta get one thats close to 100mm wide or 4inchs to fit tightly
  18. The boys from parrotts here in chch said it would a total mission and as i don't have much knowledge on the auto electrical side of things im pretty confused lol. Ill check up on the link side of it, but ive talked to a few link experts and they have said to get an external one
  19. Thats what ive been thinking about, ive seen it done and it can work. cheers
  20. Couldn't hook up the old BMW Tach to the v8 quite gutted really as i want to keep it looking factoryish. So I've decided to buy an external gauge and fit that instead. As u can see i like the black gauges as it suits the car better 1) I like the look of this setup its clean tidy and affective, and the rpm gauge does not read to 10,000rpm like most Also its at eye level so easy to read while spirited driving 2.5inch size 2) This gauge is nice, 2inch size, id prob just put a gauge pod on the steering colum in-front of the factory tach,or mount it in the coin holder bit in front of the gear leaver with a flat plate behind it so its flush and tidy This is the pod id use tidy look i feel 3) or this wee sucker above the steering wheel Whats your guys thoughts? i don't really want to spend alot, Ive looked into the digital link g3 display but thats $1000 so bugger that lol
  21. My G3 was tuned and installed for $3100 all up as well, i highly recommend them
