  1. this is for my e30 325i. i am putting an sc14 onto my m20b25. i have already started megasquirting it, and i am almost done with that, it is going to be a perfectly running ms'd car n/a before i start boosting it. i am currently using 360cc injectors.(35lbs give or take) i am going to also redo the head bolts before carrying on with the b00st. as for the guys who say sc14 is too smal... an eaton m90 puts out 1.47 litres of air per revolution, sc14 puts out 1.42. so thats the background. there are 3 ways (from what i can see) to do the plumbing: 1: air filter -> throttle body -> blower -> intercooler -> intake manifold this way is the most costly, and leads to a bit of throttle "lag". also requires the blower to be constantly driven. 2: air filter -> blower -> intercooler -> BOV -> throttle body>intake the BOV wil have a low pressure spring which will vent excess boost more than the 8 or so psi i want. NOW before y'all go "TEHRE WANT BE A PSHHH NOISE YOU CANT USE BLOW OFF VLAVE TURBOS ARE MAD PHAT THEY GO PSHHH" i am not using the blow off valve to make a noise, just to vent off excess boost i.e. just as boost control. also required blower to be constantly driven 3: (preferred choice) air filter>blower>intercooler>throttle body>intake. between the throttle body and intercooler there will be a T off the line to another air filter, which will have some sort of one way valve, or check valve in it (anyone have ideas what i can use?) so that the engine sucks air through that until boost forces it closed and the motor is running on the supercharger. this way i can have the blower clutch hooked up to an output driver on megasquirt which controls its function. i.e. a tps switch, or something similiar. it can also be disable with a cabin mounted switch for sitting in trafic so that it doesnt engage/disengage constantly with town driving. has anyone done any of these 3? what can i use for the one way/check valve behind the second air filter? i am open to ideas here, so all/any input is helpful. calculations show that with 70% ve, i should be able to get around 200hp at the wheels and so far all my parts have set me back less than $900 (although the injectors were free, so i guess that helped.) from here all i need is brackets to mount blower, piping, and time to finish the job.. its going on the back burner after my baby is born though.
  2. for me it would have to be the bmw, although the s2000 would come a close second, i have driven one on a long journey, and i tell you, the gearbox gets a hell of a work out. which is fun when your on it, but honestly i drive my car and i am on it probably 10% of the time and i am just commuting 90% of the time.
  3. i am looking for diamond black front right guard, drivers door, and bonnet
  4. 6.3l (383ci) chev v8 1993 vp commodore. about 500hp. and a lot of suspension and brake work too.... weighed in at a hefty 1510kg. but that was before the manual conversion, must have lost about 30kg there(at least) also shes has an r6, i have a zx6r
  5. e30 4 door diamnod black bonnet, drivers side front guard, and drivers door? must be in good conditional
  6. i am looking for something similiar to this - what size is the valve? i.e. what bore size etc does it have?
  7. i figured that one of them is a foglight button, but which one? one button makes a green foglight indicator come up the other an orange one. button for green: green light: button for orange: orange light: and wtf is this little control thing for? it has a little toggle switch and a dial which read 0-1-2-3, but doesnt seem to do anything. thanks guys feel free to move this to the correct forum if i have it wrong. and to make the thread worthy, a turbo from a v-12 man diesel engine. (i had my thumb up for perspective, but got it all wrong. the inlet is bigger than an unfolded motorola v3x. there are 8 or them on the motor
  8. i have a few odd things happening in my car, and would like to sort them out the car is a e30 325i 1988 w/130,000km 1. the 13 button obc doesnt keep the date and time. 2. the fuel gauge is wack - full tank shows 55 litres and empty tank shows about 15 litres - which is the same as what the obc says. 3. obc tells me i am getting about 25km/litre. according to the obc i average 4.3l/100km open road, and 7.2 km/l in town. i actually average 9.8l/100 combined. 4. the washer fluid lights is on all the time 5. the seats are sloppy as, when i pull the lever up to recline they just flop stright back - also the seat is high as is there a way to lower it? 6. the stereo doesnt keep the code when i enter it, and doesnt store my radio stations thats about it. thanks for any/all help. p.s. anyone keen to come give a hand with my manual conversion?
  9. assuming that mine is not an lsd - couldnt see an S on it and not yet had the chance to do a skiddy (waiting for my manual gearbox) would it be fair to say that all auto's are non-lsd? mine is a 325i auto 4 door. i have access to a 318i manual 2 door diff if i want it. also were the lsd's an option, or were they just standard on some models/years i.e. all 6cyl 2doors, etc? also why wont the bleeding forums show all the posts and i have to click on each one?
  10. been reading about guys overseas who turbo their m20's on stock ecu's, and the main mods seem to be better head bolts, 19lb injectors, m30 afm, and an fmu and rrfpr. with this sort of set-up, what kind of boost levels are attainable? how good is the standard ecu at compensating for boost? assuming that i was going to turbo the m20b25, what type of boost levels can be used with stock ecu and the rest of these bits? i saw one guy who is running 14psi, in the states and he still passes emmisions control, which would suggest that the car is running pretty sweet with standard ecu. i am thinking about doing a turbo setup on my car, nothing over the top just a bit of boost to get about 200whp, and if i can get by with a standard ecu, that would be choice. cheers guys
  11. well thanks for the advicei looked on trademe and found a 88 325i with 129km.. it was $1500 buy now and looked tidy enough so i hit buy now and i pick it up on monday black on black leather. auto (but i have got the cash sitting there ready to do the manula swap) had new cambelt and full service from bmw at 120km
  12. i am looking at buying a 1986 325i. it is a 4 door, with high km's (280) but it is in very good condition for its age. it has a blown head gasket and so comes with a reconditioned 174km engine. i would fit the motor myself, and then probably build up the old motor with for boost. yes its auto, but looking at trademe, i can get a box for about 700, and the rest of the bits for about another 3-400 to make it manual, so thats first on the list. after swapping the motor obviously. is the car and engine for $1200 a good deal? it has the supar stylee brown cloth interior, which is not cool. but seems to be otherwise in really good condition. cheers for all reaplies guys oh and btw other cars are: 1993 holden calais 5.0 with 328rwhp 1993 toyota corolla xl 1.3 with ass dyno 35fwhp(being sold to pay for 325) 1991 suzuki gsxr400
