I went through 4 variations (diameter / thickness) to get the vibration out of mine to no avail.
Went back to a 2pc and is smooth as silk.I did read alot about this issue, cheers for the heads up!

Cool thanks guys i'm on the fence about it all right now.
After talking to a few people it doesn't look like i'm going to be able make my target hp of around 800-850 well reliable hp anyway as it will cost a stupid amount upgrading gearbox, driveshaft, diff, axles, clutch to be able to handle prolonged use of it
As sad as it is i'm going to have to admit defeat and just try see what happens at Dyno time with the new mods to the M3 engine only and see if there are any loose links that need attention then -
Wheres the best place to get a single piece driveshaft for my car??
Google says http://www.driveinn.co.nz/driveshafts/4550008919 in nz may make one and https://www.vividracing.com/catalog/driveshaft-shop-chromoly-driveshaft-bolt-rear-flange-9599-p-55683.html if want to buy one, anyone know of any others??

Ok so used this handy calculator found here... http://www.csgnetwork.com/compcalc.html
Going to go with -18 dish pistons which should get me close to 9:1
The S50b32 cylinder head i brought was missing a lifter, ive placed that on order along with a 2,75 shim and 2 oil squirters that the goat stood on and destroyed

Not yet, sounds like a good idea

You reckon I've done no measuring.... I haven't lol
The dish I've come up with it -16

Haha ok sport here's the run down let me see if I got this right..
engine is s50b30 with b32 cylinder head 34cc ??
the stroke will remain factory 85.8 ??
rod length 142 ???
the bore will increase to 86.5
the headgasket is 87.5 and 2mm thick
The deck height will be 0 ????
What ya reckon

Ok so before I order my Pistons I'd like to see if someone comes up with the same as me...
what I want is 9:1 compression ratio
what volume dished Pistons do I need to order?
-
Yeah braided lines aren't cheap when it's custom, I ended up spending about 1,450 on all mine

Should drive a bit nicer now, seems alot of toe in for the rear tyres considering the camber on BMWs always wears the inside edges at the rear you might find some premature wear especially if you have some wide ass tread. personally id be wanting to sit on the lower side of the factory specs on the rear toe than the higher for this reason.
-
I suspect you may have a camshaft ledge worn that seals the oil from leaving the vanos system at revs, once the wear a groove in the cam carrier you will need to replace the seal and the carrier. if its the intake side both the camshaft and cam carrier.
Although there can be many issues that can cause this... above is the most common we are seeing atm.
Id book it in to be checked with a diagnostic scanner that can give you some more information on the codes coming up first.
A diagnostic scan only costs 45+gst here and you can stop in any time you like

Rodger that

17 hours ago, crunchy said:Stock crank is Nitrated, rods and pistons depends on your budget
So you reckon the is going to be any benefits to doing this, think the rods are only good for 125hp per rod
-
whats your thoughts on getting the internals nitrated?? crank, rods, pistons etc
-
What id like is around 850whp, going to still be a weekend hack car, track days etc
