  1. Wow both the vin check things i used i got a 86' 324d. Are you sure your vin is correct? Did Alpina produce manuals? Thought as M Spec and the like are manual these would be also
  2. I'm with AMI and their a total pain in the ass and reluctantly gave me insurance. For my e30 (320i) under 25, no driving convictions or speeding tickets, to insure my car for 3k it was going to be $1600 with a 1k excess!!! So i only have 3rd party now and its like 400 with a 900 excess Probably going to change at the end of the year and sounds like states a pretty good option
  3. Cigarettes are great to taxAlso theres new legislation that could mean a further 10c per litre being put on the price of petrol by regional councils. If they removed gst & excise tax from petrol then they wouldn't be able to be as generous with tax cuts etc
  4. Theres quite a few threads on this. Use the search function to find them
  5. If your going to go down the turbo route do a good job first time and you'll save $$$ in the long runDo what people who know what their talking about and get m/s, link etc Also do some research so you understand and know what people are telling you. I don't think there's many, if any people with m20 turbos on here, but many will have read alot about and know their stuff. Whatever you endeavor to do good luck with it
  6. If you don't mind forking out a bit i'd go Schrick or Cat Tuner motorsport Evolution You can also get a chip made from Evo i think if your going that way
  7. Didn't realise DHC did dyno tuning. Is NZEFI dyno at the wheels?
  8. Sorry to interrupt your thread Luke. Question for Riley where did you get your link tuned and installed?
  9. Did/are you getting new valves and springs to go with it?
  10. Schrick 272-deg Camshaft US$424+p&h Or UK$320 from evolution sport

    Headlights

The crosshairs are black and because the lenses are concave, they reflect the black off the crosshairsI think?
  12. Andrew on here i think is doing this. Would still need to do something about the ecu tho me thinks. If 3k's your limit and you cant do it yourself i think you'd be pushed to do a good job of this Read this Sure he's done lots of other mods but same principal
  13. Is it cat/schrick or a custom one? I thought you were going to M/S it? Thats a pretty good price for all that

    Tucker Max

Tucker tries buttsex; hilarity does not ensue! Got to be the most vial, socially irresponsible and funniest thing ever.
  15. Just pick them up on a push bike
  16. Unless you do something to the air intake side i imagine its going to run rich. Best way to combat this again replace or remap the ecu.
  17. Yes it remaps it but not 100% sure but think you'd need one tuned to your specific car and an el cheapo off the net won't cut it.By replacing the factory ecu i think you can remove the afm and replace if with something i can't remember the name of. Any way this means more air into the engine. Any way point is if you want to do a good job you need to replace the ecu.
  18. Is the 'brain' of the car. It controls almost everything. i.e. fuel rate, air into the engine etc. The current one isn't programmed for boost and thats what you'd need to run a good turbo. You could get your stock one re-mapped but its still going to around a 10k job
  19. When i was in the states it took over 5minutes to fill the tank cause it pumps so slowly. And it didn't have the latch so you can walk away and leave it, you had to stand there holding the whole time
  20. Theres many threads on here and other e30 sites about doing this, have a search for a few as i imagine you'll find lots more answers. As for ecu i'd think you'd need a new one or a piggyback system to run it well but i'm no expert. Edit: Sorry someone already mentioned this
  21. No alarm was professionally installed and worked fine for about 12 monthstalked to someone who knew what they were talking about. Listened to the motor a couple of times and said either its buggered or the wiring needs re-doing. Will get them to check it out and hopefully have it sorted soon. Thanks for your help guys, pointed me straight in the right direction.
  22. If anyone manages to spill 15+ml of petrol removing the pump and hanging it up they must have very unsteady hands. At most maybe 5 or 6 drops usually escape and they'd be way off a ml each. As for 942cc thats a almost whole litre. If you spill that filling your car your a total tard.
