Grant sounds a tad disillusioned.. This discussion is a right, just like 'boo hoo my e36 waterpump' and 'brake like circuit failure' etc. Tho maybe there should be one stickied threads for all this sort of carry on
-
I like the wheels, dont usually like chrome. Nice. But the tail lights man... WHY! WHY DID YOU HAVE TO GO DO THAT! :rambo:
-
Two things, Brakes - The groan because e36 brakes love to rust when wetted. So when you have em in the wash they get a lil rusty, so your first bit of braking will be over the insta-rust they get. To prove it, wet your rotors when the brakes are cold, and see the magic. DME - Its somehow that the drainage by the front window makes it overflow into this compartment, flooding the dme. Yeah, some dumbass design fault. The cars like being handwashed anyway..
-
You could always drive to one of those 'drive in an DIY' places..The biggest issue is that carwashes flood the computer.. Its russian roulette ever time.
-
I tried 98 for a while, but really it just costs more. Its prob wasted on my car.. But i think there might be a degree of placebo in the sale of it.. Anyway, for you guys looking for it - BP sells it as 'BP Ultimate' - i think they list them on their website..
-
Get insurance man, national autoclub insures everyone..for a price. You'll be glad when you pull infront of a brand new gt3 or something.. haha
-
Doubtful, but prove me wrong! E36's are expensive if you want something nice.. Just beware of a catch if its cheap. Be aware of the chronic problems every e36 has one time or another, and if those are the reason you're getting it cheap.
-
Theres guaranteed to be. Especially if they ruin something expensive, they arent gonna budge.
-
Half an hour doing it yourself aint a big deal anyway - my car doesnt look remotely clean from an automatic carwash..
-
Try elsewhere. Dont put up with that. Most places should take credit cards, especially the decently big ones..
-
You'll be wanting just a 316 or 318 for that eh?http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-26995519.htm maybe? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...on-26512453.htm I would prob rather get a mint e30 than a bad e36 for the money..
-
Dont do it. please? If youre gonna lower it, do it proper. Get some decent springs and new shocks made to work with them. Theres no point in doing it if all it will do is slow you down and mess up your tyres and ruin your handling.
-
Hey,If i were you i would never use a carwash again. They dont remove the dirt, and... In E36's they tend to flood the DME, so you end up buying a new one. The drainage is terrible, so if there is as much water coming at it like in a car wash, it will flood the whole thing. In conclusion, please dont use a carwash again, dont say i didnt warn you!

I might be getting an eibach one if the seller is willing to ship.. http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/attac...chmentid=109420

Maybe get the windows tinted if ya havent already - other than that it looks good. Just gotta get it shiny as possible - maybe give the interior a touchoup if it needs it (if you got leather seats get em reconditioned). Good luck eh!

Yeah, i been on a hiatus. I think id prob still be more confident sorting something out from the US later..
-
http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showt...ighlight=xbrace I dont think xbrace is gonna help much, might just be better to go with strut bar... Quite a few replies about there not being a difference if you got aftermarket suspension..
-
Yeah tho.. http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/detai...PRODUCT_ID=E36X 130US Any kind of strut brace is 130-360 US. Im just wondering why an xbrace is so cheap..
-
Hey, Anyone wanna post up the details for those strut braces? I wanna get some before the track day in august, so that even if my car aint the fastest, the handling will at least be improved.. cheers.
-
Theres a reason ive been making like no posts here, and sticking to bimmerforums.
-
Thanks for proving my point of why bfc pwns this forum. Looks like this place is never going to actually be anything with any kind of automotive worth to it. Oh yeah, and the next time i want an opinion on something, i guess BS is the wrong place to go and i WILL just go to the experts. Nice guys.

Thats the reason people wash them. And the reason for this thread.

Hmm, glad the car didnt get more damage.. Yeah theres a few stories around of some cars getting owned, while the bmw just gets a scratch.... *cue gus with the 'itll buff right out'*
