Well the original question never got answered. It is interesting as the only +88 car to have those tail lights was the M3. All others got the facelift type.

ok will try and find the parts to do this, but find finding parts might make me end up like this though :banghead:

So are cars are prewired? Even an 83 323i? Just checking I really want to do this conversion, and pics or a write up would help.

Got an Mtech 1 I would be willing to swap directly from a 40,000 mile E30 M3. Been in storage for about 2 yrs now.

Yeah I am going to check that when the new alternator comes in. The one I got from Ebay was bad.

Ok guys just changed out the alternator in the car and for some odd reason even after I turn off the car the OBC and radio stay on. Check panel lights are also on. Also the drivers side will not lock for some reason. Key will not turn it. Could this be a bad key or ignition tubmbler? Anyone think they might be tied in together? Need help this area is high crime and I have to keep the car unlocked all night and the battery disconnected obviously to turn off the OBC and check engine lights.

anyone have horsepower and torque figures for an e34 520i? Saw a nice one for sale the other day, but when I test drove it, it seemed to lack power going uphill.

Yeah pics would help. Was havng the same problem on both sides and the tail light gaskets, and trunk gaskets were replaced.

Haven't paid attention to the tach and speedo, but it needs to be jump started everytime. It will idle very roughly (checked for air leaks and need to replace intake boot) and then when the car is put in first or reverse just die. This is after it's been running at idle for abour 5-10 min. It's giving me a major headache :banghead:

Hey guys, Ny friend's 320i always need a jumpstart get started and will cut out in first gear. Is there anything that could cause this besides the alternator? he has a new battery, spark plugs and wires. It also has an erratic idle once it's running. Any and all help appreciated TIA
