As far as i am aware yes. On mine i can play nz new games and imported. I brought my PS3 brand new in NZ too. Im not sure regarding coppied games however.... It can play the majority of my movie i have as it can play Divx format, which my dvds are. IMO, PS3 is great!!!

Hay everyone, Its a lil off topic but I thought I would see if any one is interested before I go to TradeMe. Have for sale a 32" Wide screen Samsung with cabinet, surround sound and 5 disk DVD changer. Mint TV and sound wicked too. Also have leather couch. 3+1+1. Very comfortable. Has a small break in leather on the 3 seater but could be repaired if you wish. Only want $1500 for all.... Or anyone interested in just couch or just TV let me know.
