  1. Nothing wrong with the honda bikes. I rocked em' for over 3 years. (Orange now though) Those old single cyl farm/dirt bikes just don't die. Go anywhere as well.
  2. So are you going to get financial members? Other sources of income? How would this be different from the normal BMW Club? Sounds good tho.
  3. Plenty of pics floating around on teh internet anyway, Carl's one are still floating around somewhere and R3V has got some?
  4. I got mine from amazon a while ago, no hassles or anything. Only thing is that it doesn't cover all of the models, shouldn't be too much of a problem though.

That would be the M42, the 318iS got a DOHC motor, the normal F/L 318i only got SOHC M40

kia ora, nice car you got there, not too many of those on the site.
  7. I don't see anything wrong with the E36, still looks better than half the new cars coming out today. I'm a fan of E34 and E39 though, the E34 has aged really well and the E39 will probably be the same. As for new ones, didn't like them at first but the Z4 has grown on me, still not sure about the others.
  8. I'd get rid of that auto before you did anything else. have you read this... click me Just search, its been covered heaps. Google is your friend, have a look on e30tech.com also. As sic has said... cheap, fast, reliable. Pick 2. Mine will get a major power upgrade (even if its in 3 years when i finish uni) but until then I'm just keeping it in good nick and slowly sorting suspension brakes etc, oh, and also learning to drive.
  9. as long as its all factory/or equivalent parts then you don't need to. (Sorry- doesn't apply to engine swaps etc) Its when you get into custom bits and peices that you need to worry about it. edit, would still tell insurance though.

    volk rims???

I know this has been covered before but I thought the factory bottle caps were 35mm offset, atleast thats what it says on the back. Ive test fitted a few 17's from jap cars and the offset was fine but quite often the brake caliper got in the way.
  12. Reiger kit is way to flashy for an E30, doesn't suit at all, neither does the E46 M3 replica kit, however the E36 M3 kit looks pretty good on E30.
  13. I emailed both of those guys a few days ago. Ralliart said they'd get back to me on thursday, haven't heard back from the other fella.
  14. theres a few turbo projects on e30tech.com
  15. f**k for 5 hundy better be a mint box. Just buy a clucth kit from BNT, around $350 - included clutch disc, pressure plate, and bearing. Don't even bother putting a second hand clutch in. Also get recon kits for your master and slave, about $50 for both? Trust me on this one. Have you asked the wreckers down here for prices on bits? Bravo-wouldn't worry about your bracket type, z3 shifter still works fine. Carl posted up on how to do it. Have search for it.
  16. I've had the back ones for since january, been waiting for ages to get round to doing the back camber/toe, i'll put them in then. I'll do the tierods and rackends as well. What else might need doing? Do you reckon it worth spending the extra cash for the sway bar d-bushes? I've only got stock bars. Tim- PM'd you about the CAB's, probably order them on thursday.

    1.6L to 2.5L

Yip. You wont be able to use the rear disc brakes. Driveshaft won't fit, neither will the bigger front struts (Not a big deal but they are stronger). I'm not sure how the loom and ecu will work either. Engine mounts and oil pan might also cause problems. Other people on here iwll be able to tell you for sure about the loom, mounts and oil pan. Basically unless you can find a 325i parts car it going to cost you quite a bit more.

    1.6L to 2.5L

I agree with pretty much what everyone else has said, definatly do the swap. As long as the parts car is there the swap shouldn't be too bad, you'll find there are lots of little bits you'll need like driveshaft, oil cooler etc. As for diffs, my mate had a 3.91 in his 2.5 and it would out run vtec preludes, but it did have very short gearing, wouldn't want to go any shorter. Lastly what did they say they were going to do to it do get it performing like a 2.7? The 2.7 strokers apparently make around 200hp, your rebuilt 2.5 will only make 170hp.
  20. You sure brent? I thought only the 2.5 head would work with the 2.5 block and pistons? Also, I wouldn't bother with a longer duration cam if your going FI.

If you more a cruiser then I don't think you'll want an E30, (earlier 3 series), definatly go for an E36. I'd also get a 325i if you want an auto. 320 are pretty slow and pretty thirsty on gas for the size. My olds recently got a 95' 318i auto, done around 80'000k, they paid around 8g for it.
  22. I thought they were cheaper than that from BNT, I've been quoted $300 i think, and you can pick em up even cheaper than that if you shop around.
  23. Heaps of that stuff you can get at BNT, they give discount for BMW club members as well. Hoist is ideal but even a pit is really good, maybe a mate has one in a garage? If not you'll just have to get the car as high as you can, some stuff under there is done up quite tight and you might need room to use a strong arm.
  24. I'm going to get a set of these over shortly. Gus got his for 50 quid to his door so if theres more of us it will be less than that. I'm going to place the order sometime this week so let me know if you want a set as well. www.powerflex.co.uk
