  2. Been there and done that.

His costs are way over the top.

To do the targa last year our total cost was more like $15000, to $18000.

Entry fee is at the worst cost, it gets more the later you enter, about $3800.

6 tyres at about $350 each, Motels for the 4 of us, 2 driving and 2 crew and you NEED the crew, $1800. Gas for both car and service crew about $1500. Food for 4 about $1500. Then there is the spares and servicing the car before you go and supplies and parts that you may never need but still need to take with you in case.

We put new brakes in before the event and take another new set for example and that about $500. a set each time.

$39000 for that you can build and race it for the season and repair it aas well.

He did not say what it would cost if you bend it!!

  3. Full cover for all cars that i own.

e46 through BNZ as they do all other insurance for me. Costs about $600.00. and is covered for about 55k.

Cant understand ant one running with out cover. Bet they would be the first to complain in an accident too.

  4. I also went to the Wellington launch.

    The wine was FINE!

The jury is still out on the car. I have a drive booked for about 2 weeks time, am away a bit till then. The car looked better and bigger than the pictures. But i thought that it was smaller than my e46 in the rear seat area.

The front as the standard kit is way better than the e46, and its going to look better than that when the M tec bits are avaliable.

    Overall, COOL CAR! :mosh:

  5. For the cost of the OEM filter and correct grade of oil, would you risk the life and good running of the motor?????

I run only the real thing in mine, Dont want a big bill for a rebuild on the twin Vanos motor. :(

Cheap oil and filters can be exactly that,,,,,, Cheap!

  6. Ok Guys, my thoughts.

While i was one of the instructors, and know how Steve usually runs both driver training days and racecraft days, this day was not run how we would normally.

It sounds much to me that the General thoughts from the people that do attend the BMW club day at Taupo, are really looking for something more like the racecraft day that we are doing this weekend.

We do not normally do as many people at one time either. 54 drivers is too many for 4 instructors on the Taupo track, if you are really in to the race type of training. It slows the progress of the exercises. The theory session is normally held a few days,or night before the track day to allow the maximum time on the track.

Racecraft days do take in more things like learning to be relaxed about 4 cars arriving at the first corner at the same time and not hitting each other.
