  1. Though i dont have a BMW convertable, i have owned a convertable since 1999.

Its an old car and does not have an alarm. Nor a very good locking system. It does have a safety switch that i installed, to prevent anyone trying to get away with it.

I have never had a problem with the car being damaged. Use it alot during the summer, park it in town with the hood down, but it does have a half cover that protects it a little. Never had the " ice cream" treatment.

The worst i have had is a line up of people wanting to know what it is and where it came from. Most people have a reasonable attitude.

    My 2 cents.

Dont let it puit you off owning one, you just need to have garaging, and want one!

  2. Got the throttle body on and decided to go with the 325i manifold as well.

So have in creased the air flow in, and injector size.

First impressions are that the car has more torque, and is quicker off the mark. Not sure how much quicker, will have the car on the track on sunday at Intermarque.

Will see what the times are like then. B)

  3. I would go with the twin resonators.

Removing the cat will improve the air flow through, as long as you retain a reasonable size rear muffler the noise will not be excessive.

Removing the rear system and putting the open resonators in my car made a huge change to noise! And performance. But this car is mainly a track car.

Keep two systems and avoid joining them up is my advice.

    :)

Mine is capable of waking the dead, had to put in the 3rd & 4th resonators to stop car alarms going off while driving slowly through the town!! :pimp:

  4. I Have very free flow Exhaust, 4 cobys 2 in each system ( has 2 completely independant pipes, one for each 3 cylinders ) with no restrictions, its loud. Racing dynamics headers , K&N filter. So have the outward flow as free as possible.

Car is L Jet-tronic so cant put in a chip to improve the performance, but it was dyno run and tuned with advanced timing.

Will re dyno when i have the inlet changed over. :P

  5. OK.

as checked with the two ECU's at home. What you have is the same. Same numbers.

I would assume then that the motor may also be 2.3lt.

Have checked on the spare motor. The number is on a flat piece of casting directly below the distributor, behind the power steering pump.

On all 3 of my 323i motors it starts with 23 xxx xxxx.

Have yet to compare with a 2.0 motor if that number is differant. Anyone got one that they can see?

    Also is L-JET.

  6. There are numbers on the case. check them and i will look at the two spare computers that i have for 323i.

    What year is the car.

there is a number on the block down by the sump, that on both of my 323i motors starts with 23xxxx xxxxxx

I wonder if that is the designation? <_<

  7. not Quite,

ABS is a red light that will only come on, If you have abs fitted to the car, goes off once the engine is started, if it stays on then there is a problem with the ABS system.

One of the lights (P) is park brake

One of the lights (!) is brake Fluid level warning, ( i think its this one)

the last one will be the the Front Brake pad warning

I Think that is the way they are. <_<

  8. Put me down to watch carl do the diff change in the 30 mins to 1 hour :P

Cross member is the same , its just the bearing holder that supports the center of the drive shaft. You can get a new one for around $100.00.

As you have a F/L 320i, Any box from 320 or 323, will be OK. Peddal box is the same on the auto, just need to have both of the Manual peddals to swap.

Need to watch out for both master and slave cylinders for the Clutch, as most need rekitting. Its easy to do before you do the swap.

The other difference is in the type of gear selector, early pre face lift is a pannel steel arrangement, later F/L is a cast alloy unit.

Look into short shift as well, as that too is best done before you install the box.

  9. I agree, Aunty Helen has Turned alot of the so called party faithful away with the total lack of interest in the drivers and court case they faced to get her to a rugby game. She did not even have the decency to go and defend them.

Meh, National can't do any worse than the Labour party have managed, can they?

Hate "E" year, too much S**T slinging in Public.
