  1. Hello,

I need to replace the camshaft on my m30b25 engine. I need to check a few things before I go off and buy one.

Can I use any m30 camshaft or only b25/b28 as i know the b35 has a different distributor. I found this cam would it work? http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/C...n-257618301.htm

If I did change to a b35 cam could I then change to the Motronic distributor and harness as well.

I am thinking of buying the complete setup.

    Cheers.

  2. Hello.

I havent done any mods to a rack before so I am looking at this from a no knowledge point of view. But to me the problem is that it wasent designed for a rack so why not look for a quicker box?

Maybe you have more reasons than lock to lock turn that made you decide the rack option.

I have a couple of questions:

    - is a rack better/worse when racing?

    - is the rack lighter than the box for racing?

    - is there a technical term for the box?

  3. Ah has anyone noticed that the accident has just become part of the look? He still hasent fixed the pillar or replaced the windscreen. I dont think this car is on the road or the track. Just a piece of art. The last version is kinda unfinished with the bumper gone exposing the kit fixings. How many kits are made for the e28?

  4. Why cant you send it to West Africa for the lady who won? She would pay postage wouldnt she? Strange buying from the uk aye. She has been disabled now. Did you offer it to the next highest bidder?

  5. When you have fixed everything else just go back and talk to the technician. It isn't wasting anyones time, he is just making sure your car is safe and should understand if he has made an error. It seems to be a simple issue.

  6. Hey guys,

Standard e30 87 automatic gearbox leaking from the where the cable that connects to the engine comes out. Got that?

It has an o ring which i would like to check/replace my question is how do i get it out to replace, just pull it or twist? It is currently out of the car so no problems with access.

    Cheers.

  7. I was told the E30 M20's wont go in the E34????

The m20b20 was used in the e34 form 1988 to 1990 then changed to the m50. But from my limited info i believe it had different mounts and sump so might not be a direct bolt in. Anyway if it is a good engine someone would probably pay $300+ for it, then sell the e34 and you might get your money back.

Seems you have not decided what you want to do yet. Good luck with the conversion which ever it is. :)

  8. *FOUND ONE IN CHCH* Making custom mounts.

    Hello,

I need the sump and pickup before i can continue with the build as i cant postion the engine untill this is swapped over. I was going to do a custom engine mount setup unless someone in nz can supply.

Sump part number 11131708345. (from e30.de)

    Pickup part number 11411714755. (realoem)

    Engine mounts.

    Please include approx postage.

    Cheers,

    Adam

  9. Hello,

The car: 86 325i coupe !FIXED thanks to hotwire!

    The issues: Front

Lights off - indicators work fine sometimes the left middle stops because of a dirty conection.

Park Lights on - they work fine both sides :) but if i turn on the indicators the park lights flash as well.

Low beam on - they dont work and i hear a click from the fuse box when i change. Park lights and indicators seem to get some power because they are faintly turned on.

High beam - they dont work either, the dash lights up and so does the indicators slightly.

Fog lights - they dont work, the dash light does.

And this really confuses me the horn wires on the wheel make the dash indicator and high beam lights flash on?

    Rear lights all work fine.

I have replaced the bulbs with working ones from another e30 and checked the fuses and swapped relays.

All i can assume is somewhere they are connecting but if someone knows of a similar fault and can point in the right direction. I have a multimeter but not sure how to go about isolating this with the many variables.

    Cheers, just for reading this.

  10. Compressed air is the one item that you wouldn't want to use up in outer space.

I think we had better find another source of propulsion.

    lmao!

What have they been doing? Sending astronauts to 'build' a space station that was a great idea. They can not even hold on to their tools.
