  1. I like the floor mat in the second one :P .

I think if you are not worried about the ride as stated above and kept the maintenance up on the engine then maybe it is worth it. They dont seem happy to explain what might be wrong so i would definatly take them for a test drive.

Offer $2000 for the red one since thats probably what the previous owner got off with trade in.

  2. I wasn't in the mood to change the starter again so decided to try cleaning all the connections first. So I filed down the inside of the battery connections and the terminals on the battery itself. Then moved to the fire wall connection and filed that down. And lastly jacked the car up got under and did the negative cable from the sump. All clean 'n shiny :D . And it fired up just like it should. Now just have to wait and see if it will play up again. (Touch wood.) Give it a go it doesn't take that long.

  3. Hello.

I have been having the same problem with a manual so i don't think the auto switch would make a difference.

I used the guide to work out my problem is the starter. Thing is I have already replaced the starter once. Is this just bad luck or could something be destroying the starters. Also are all m20 starters the same eg do b20 and b25 use the same. Any idea on the cost of buying a new one as it is rather annoying to have this particular problem.

    Cheers

  4. This is one crazy conversion. Logic says replace the whole wiring loom but often the engine is just spliced in. Good to see someone taking on the challenge.

I have been looking at doing a 5 stud conversion dont think i would take this route. You have some skill with the welder it looks very professional.

Are you taking a break for christmas? when will we hear her running?

  5. Hello, I need to undo a 30mm and 40mm nut so went down to repco to check out some prices. $30 and $45 respectably which is a little much for me since I wont use them often if ever again. So does anyone already have these in Christchurch i can borrow? Or do you know where a can find cheap versions in this size? Other options I would consider buying is a multi spanner which was $72 at repco which did up to 40mm. Your experience appreciated. Cheers.

  6. Hello,

I dont think leaving that is a good idea. I have an m20b20 sitting in the garage $25 for the mount.

Will it just happen again if you dont fix the problem? I dont see the need for changing from rubber can someone give some pros and cons to switching to Urethane or Delrin.

    Cheers.

  7. Hello,

I require some cosmetic parts to tidy my car up.

    - Curved drivers door chrome trim in good condition for a 86 2door e30.

    - 2door e30 sill plastic covers that hold the carpet down that are not cracked for both sills.

    and

    - e30 325i rear battery cable and engine compartment attachment to fire wall, battery cover etc. Cheers

  8. ^Yes back to the problem at hand^

Right so I might aswell start the deconstruction untill I find another cam. What is the best way to keep everything in time? I thought about using a vivid to mark the sprocket and chain after I turn the engine to tdc. And/or then use cable ties to hold them together.

I measured the rather large nut as 40mm is that correct?

  9. The 335i has turbo and they got the quicker time by increasing the psi by 0.5 if you take that into consideration then how can you compare them. You could just keep fiddling with the turbo.

Clintin the car looks great and you got a good deal with the low k's and warrenty. Enjoy.

  10. Pretty sure the camshaft is quite different, I know the pistons etc are, and you'd need to be sure you weren't going to get valve clash?

I may have a 2.5 cam in my collection, if I can find it I'll let you know.

    Cheers David,

Can i replace the cam without taking the head off while the engine is out of the car?
