  1. I agree, havent seen any cars like that on the american sites thou, maybe you could take them off?
  2. Hello, I am having a similar problem, mine was starting fine then one day nothing, the battery is fine as i switched with my other car. I can also jump start it. Does this narrow down the problem my mate said it sounds like the starter motor. How can you determine if it is the starter motor or the wiring (what tools would i require), is there a fuse for the starter motor? Excuse me for chipping in on your post. Regards, Adam

    E30 Kit

Hello, Now I know that the kit I have is an M tech kit, with the three grooves around the bottom edge, is that M tech 1 or 2? Cheers, Adam
  4. mmmmm3... what i like about the wheel/ tyres on an e30's is the fact that you can fit such wide tyre on. It just completes the look to me. Adam
  5. Hello Alex,Hold off on the hammer happy job. I just got one off yesterday using a tie rod splitter which is a really simple tool that only cost $25 at super cheap or similar. It has a split fork that goes either side of the tie rod bolt under the strut and an arm that sits on top of the bolt, these arms are on a pivot and are forced together by tighting a bolt and after only three pulls on the rachet off it came. So easy and i havent damaged anything. Thats my experience with tie rods anyway. Regards, Adam
  6. Welcome, nice car, i have the same wheels. Wheels from the same era always look so good.
  7. Bugger i have a Luxerbeige e30.... i didnt see the post until today. Sad to see her go aye. I am keeping my e30's for the series, but have two more projects before i start on that. Well good luck with the race car. Adam
  8. Hello, What hp has the M50 got? Have you got rid of the 325i engine yet? It would be cool if you posted your pictures of the build. Cheers
  9. Hello, nice car. Are Japanese BMW import cars made in Japan? Or made for Japan with some restrictions? I am looking to buy a 2000+ BMW next year.
  10. I see a pattern that just sucks. We have badges stolen, bonnets scratched, door kicked and a couple of weekends ago i catch this guy running over my car which will cost $1400. Cops could not come and do anything because they are out chasing the so called boy racers around the aves. Bright side is i get a new bonnet roof and boot paint job.
  11. Hello, Mmm tempting dare i ask how much? Cheers
  12. Thanks a lot. I have a start to research from now. I will post my findings later. Cheers Glen.
  13. Hello, Wow what a response, must be a bit rare if you have not worked on one. Yes it is the big block M30 I know this from asking about a sump pan a while back. So yes I would like to start finding the other parts that I will need and/or modify. Can I use everything already in the engine bay and just swap them over to the e30? Because when I read your parts list Glen you get parts from a lot of models. Cheers Adam
  14. Hello, I have one tired engine in the e30 so I have decided to replace it with the M30 from a 1987 525i e28. I know it would great to put a 3.5L in but i have this engine and it has only done 66,000 miles. I am in the planning stage so any hic ups others have had that i should watch out for would be great. Cheers, Adam
  15. Hello, Welcome to BS. I have a TC Baur as well with the same front kit, is it an alpina kit?, my kit style follows around the whole car.
  16. GOT ONE NOW THANKS. Hello, I am looking for a e30 bulk head, it needs to be rust free. If someone in Christchurch has a shell they want removed for free i would be interested in doing that. I have an 1986 e30 325i coupe. Does anyone know if the bulk head changed from pre face lift to face lift? Cheers p.s. i had posted this in the 'want to buy' but no replies.
  17. "or an E46 manual (SMG sucks ass except in the CSL)." Right so these guys know as much about BMW as i know about Subaru's. Except that a Subaru's value will never match a BMW.
  18. Hello, Using a www.xe.com website i worked out the NZ$ cost 752 = $1,834.75 430 = $1,049.00 376 = $917.00 288 = $702.70 164 = $400.00 144 = $351.30 150 = $365.90 (frieght per set) So if you get the 6 sets everyone would pay $1634.20. I am very interested. It wont be for a race car but will still improve the performance and i would be able to use the rest of the existing exhaust system? Cheers
  19. GOT ONE NOW THANKS Hello, I am looking for a e30 bulk head, it needs to be rust free. If someone in Christchurch has a shell they want removed for free i would be interested in doing that. I have an 1986 e30 325i coupe. Cheers
  20. Hello, Good points to note, i have one questions on your answers, rear main seal? can you give me a pick maybe off the OEM site. Cheers
  21. Welcome, I will keep an eye on it. Regards, Adam
  22. That would be great but you are so far away. I have found some sumps in christchurch off e28's but they are 3.0L and 3.5L will this fit? Yes i have already asked about this and just thought it would be stronger and easier to just replace it. You have to remove the sump and degrease it before you can weld it anyway. Cheers
  23. Hello, I have taken the gearbox and engine out of the 1986 e30 325i and because I don’t have any service record I wanted some advice as to what may need to be replaced and good products to use. This is what I was going to do - oil and oil filter, coolant, fuel filter, air filter, gearbox oil, power steering fluid, clutch fluid and brake fluid. The engine bay had a sticker with a picture of the timing belt cover and the miles done since then about 3,000. Is the cam belt usually done at the same time? I was also going to give it a good scrub down so I can see if there are any leaks. Since I have the gearbox off I am interested to know if there are any sport clutch plates and flywheels, just thought it would be a good idea to replace these since it is such an annoying job to get the gearbox off. Are there any websites to look at? Cheers
  24. Hello, Just wondered if the engine is completely stuffed? Because if you need to replace it and you can only dump the engine well i need an m30 sump for my e28 525i which has the m30 engine . Just thought i should ask. Cheers
  25. Hello, I have just removed the gearbox in my 325i and those bolts! i didnt strip them which is lucky because it had already been removed before and they put the same bolts back. I will get new ones this time, is this a good practice anyway? How much is it for a new set? I took the top bolts out last which didnt help, when putting it back in is there a better order? Bravo had the right idea as well, remove the driveshaft. I removed the engine earth strap aswell. The front cross member has just four bolts? Cheers
