  1. You could have taken the bus... on the positive it is only one more night before your car is fixed
  2. So I have 1 of 20 ... I was looking forward to replacing it with the 2011 version aswell. I will clean the cars up and do a shoot asap for entry in the mid year to mid year version. How much was it last year? Could do four photos per page so more cars can fit which will increase interest.
  3. Another Christchurch member Nice looking car you have. Welcome to Bimmersport.
  4. Yes I have replaced and intend to replace alot of these 25 year old parts . On this engine I stripped it down and replaced a lot of seals, gaskets and I did do the o-rings etc. At the time I spent so many hours in the garage working on it I had had enough, put it back in the car and called it stage one complete. It looked good, and had no leaks however I have now decided to finish the job and make it perfect. It doesnt look good when you stall your car....and we all want reliable running cars at the end of the day. Cheers for clarifying the jargon.
  5. Yes the plan is to replace all the vac hoses, the valve and the rubber intake boot as part of this maintenance. Just so I am 100% the ICV idle control valve is item two as listed on the link I posted?
  6. e30 325i 86 Hello. I have found that the butterfly valve gets a coating of oil which then will cause it to stick. The engine then has poor throttle response as the revs tend to drop when the valve hesitates to open and the idle hunts when cold. I know this is the cause because I just cleaned it again and the symptoms have again stopped. So... my Questions. Can anyone tell me what causes the build up of oil on the valve and is my periodic cleaning the only solution. My next step was to take off the throttle housing take it apart and do an even more extensive clean. I was also going to replace the hoses leading to it as they are most likely dirty as well. 7. That looked like harmless fun. As for speeding I hardly think that guys on their road bikes would be staying under the speed limit either. And they fill the road up driving three or more across. We just need to leave people to do as they please and take responiblitiy for themselves. And have some Fun!!
  8. Just reminded me I need to make a trip to the depot. Free, they only ask that you dont leave the containers there.
  9. Welcome to Bimmersport. Christchurch chapter indeed +1
  10. We arrived in ChCh with no more issues however the rain turned into a down pour after Cromwell which made it an interesting drive. The car was awesome on the open road cant wait for the next road trip. This is the damaged hose can not see anything else was affected and the engine still went well. Here we are on top of the Roxburgh Dam before the down pour. Thanks again for the help. Travel safe over the break. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
  11. Thanks for the help. Went to the wrecker and got a hose the same dia. Will do until i get back to chch. Now on the road and will watch the temp! It is raining
  12. I have tried with the e30 hose. No luck it needs to be larger. It really needs to be the exact shape. Cliff if you have spare hoses that would be great. Will head to the parts places in the morning.
  13. yes thats the number on the hose.
  14. No 16 termostat hose, it is well burst
  15. UPDATED POST I AM USING A CELL TO POST AND IT ISNT THAT STRAIGHT FORWARD.
  16. All sorted, now I need to do some preventative maintenance. e28 with m30 engine 02102534071 On hol from chch due to return tomorrow. Car burst the U shaped hose between waterpump and thermostat. Does anyone have a spare or even one which could be cut down to size to get us back to chch, have spares at home Cheers, Adam.

Could be the fuel consumption, is it under the rev counter?
  19. I like your approach, and it looks really very good . Being able to remove the front like that is rather handy I bet. I haven't done a new clutch and flywheel yet do you have to get them from the US or is that only motor sport versions?
  20. Welcome. Thats a good effort at a custom face lift . Like the 318, looks tidy .
  21. Welcome. Where are you from incase someone can offer advice in your area and what model BMW also so people with the same model can assist you. And do you have a photo of your car? Everyone likes photos. Edit: I notice you have a toyota, are you looking to buy a BMW?
  22. Wedge a brick under the other wheel . I have some oem tyre blocks but bricks, wood or metal toe cap work boots all do the trick to hold the wheel. Edit: Dismiss my late night ramble lol. I guess the easiest way is take it to a garage and put it on the machine then tweak it to suit. Easier than removing half shafts etc.
  23. Tempting... what else can you get from them for the e28's?
  24. That looks awesome. They could enter the 1 series into the WTCC instead of the 3 series.
