you cant reg it in nz , due to the silly frontal impact laws . cars must no older than 10years and have 2 airbags etc you would have to buy a rhd e34 body and swap all the M5 bits over , i have a 1988 535i body sitting in my driveway now . bare shell no damage $500 . cheers brent 021433600 or 2997389 . there was another guy who did the same , brought one off these guys then fitted it to a std 520i body (bad choice of body too) easier to use 535i body a lot more similer in the brackets etc and already has the bigger drivetrain etc , had to get new manifold made $1200 alone for that. plus lots of labour . worth doing though . have seen M5's sell for around $25k a few years ago . and as low as $20k . i have a 1985 M745i with the m5 motor in it , will be swapping it out into my 1986 M535i

its a 3.07 lsd from e24 or e23 735i or 635i i think , would also fit e28 m5 . but they ran a 3.7 or 3.9 or something . no good for any other models

Make sure you borrow enough for the , new set of extractors you will have to make $1000-$1500 (this came from a LHD) plus a ecu $1000+ plus having to swap sumps , oil pump over. modify engine mounts etc . also will need hotwire AFM .

selling this 1985 M745iA south african assembled . full buffalo leather leather interior incl , dash door cards , console etc . electric memory front seats , and electric rear seats ,rear pull up blind , self leveling suspension , abs , cruise control , Trip computer , uprated factory brakes ,4speed auto with sports, ecno and manual modes , etc etc . will be removing the engine and loom , so just put another 3.5l engine in and way you go .( have one availble if required ) or maybe fit a rotary , V8 or something else different . slam it, pimp it etc heaps of room in the engine bay ....... car has done about 145000miles . not with wheels in pic , will come with some other std type bmw alloy wheels i have . call 021433600 or 09-2997389 . looking at around $2000

they did 525i e28 from 1982 -1987 its a M30 block 2.5L , 525e from about 84/85 to 88 was M20 2.7L( check if it has the dizzy mounted on the front of the cam like a later model e30 325i or e34 525i then its M20, but if its at right angles to the cam then its a m30 ). if its a 525i m30 i have a freind who wants one . cheers brent
