Hybrid: Dynavin D99 Android e39 with DVB-T
jcerecke replied to hybrid's topic in Audio & In Car Entertainment
Does anyone know if I can use the GPS antennae I already have in the car? I assume it's stock, but it's stuck to the front windscreen and doesn't look very stock. Also there's a BMW box with "GPS receiver" written on it in the back under the floor of the touring. If I have to use the dynavin antennae, can I delete this box? More room for a hidden amp in the future! Also I have no idea if I need the loom from front to back or not! I guess I'll find out when I give it a go, let's hope not! haha. Excited! -
No idea what that really means, but it does RS232/RS422/RS485. It also does sort of hi/lo voltage sensing type thing, but that's designed (being an home automation controller) for sensing relays/buttons/that sort of thing rather than a communications bus.
-
Yeah I looked at those, although for that price I figured it was just something similar to Jochen's SimpleInterface2 and not as fancy as the resler one. I think I might as well just get it though. Don't really see many other options unless I buy a Melexis TH3122 chip off resler and copy his V4 schematics.

I'm not a massive expert on this sort of thing, but collision detection isn't the same thing as checksums is it? Collision detection is because Tx & Rx are on the same line. That's why you need itm in case two modules try sending a code at the same time, and if they do detect a collision, then each module waits a random amount of time and tries again correct? And then checksums are just a "did I receive this code correctly?" thing. Hybrid, is your top secret product a piece of software? Or hardware? Haha just curious, I love hacking around with things and making them do something other than what they were intended to do.

I appreciate that, but navcoder won't run on my AMX NXI Perhaps if you gave me the algorithm you used in NavCoder, I could port it?? Haha.
-
Initially will use it to recode some options, but long term it'll be hooked up to an AMX automation controller, which has relays/rs232/IR/rs485/ethernet/and a few other bits and pieces. So I can make the car do custom stuff like say happy birthday to me on the MID hahahaha.

Hybrid: Dynavin D99 Android e39 with DVB-T

Excellent work! I spent all day yesterday reading overseas installation reviews and they all seem to say the same thing, crossed control wires and really really tight fit. -
Hey ants. Checked it out at the office the other day, looking good. Welcome to the forum.

Taken from Rolf's website: I really want the V4 interface but it's been out of stock for months and his last update in August shows some hope, but the deadline has long since passed. I've tried emailing him several times with no replies. The reason I want this particular interface is because I'm hoping to use it on an automation controller which needs RS232, but I don't want to have to program my own collision detection algorithm into the controller. If anyone has a spare, I'd be keen to buy it. Also if anyone has any other links to alternatives that would be cool too, although I've searched quite a bit and found nothing that I don't have to make from scratch (don't mind a kit though).

Damn it! While I'm stuck down here in the SI waiting an extra 2 working days for mine! Be keen to learn from your install though. -
E39 Android system will be released soon

Excellent news! Is ebay the best way to get rid of the old screen/cd changer/mk2 nav? Obviously the nav's a bit useless for NZ. -
Yep, all good. And feel the same as everyone else. So over it all. My theophany speakers stayed up this time (hallelujah!) which was my only real concern beside life haha. But the driveway opened up again, so I chose to leave the car on the road. But now I'm over on the west coast at dads and it's beautiful and relaxing and I don't want to go home.

My e30's smell has been overtaken by the dampness of the entire cabin and boot.

So whats the latest ETA? I remember reading something about 15th-30th Dec, but can't find it now. Can't wait!! -
I'm just waiting for a new set of lockpicks to arrive. Lockpicks.com had a 20% off sale haha. Problem is you can't really do it in CHCH anymore, because I'm freaked out any abandoned place could be quake damaged and fall on top of me. Heaps of people have checked out the old maltworks in heathcote here and I saw some pictures of some abandoned apartments literally in the middle of town that you would never have guessed were abandoned. I know Canty Uni and the hospital have heaps of tunnels under them, never given them a try though, but my brother who lectured at Uni got into a service tunnel there. I figure CPIT would have some, and I know Arts Centre has basements accessible from the outside. The only other big place I know has cool tunnels is the airport but they take security pretty seriously haha. Been down in them for work.

Oh yeah I fully accept that he was right, I just like to argue because I thought it was stupid. It's like if you have seatbelts you have to have a seat! I can understand it being the other way round, but that is just plain retarded.

Haha I just had this same discussion with my mechanic. Had spot lights on the e30 which came on with high beams but weren't able to be switched off independently. Had it this way for about 6 WOF's at the same place, but only just got picked up. So naturally I can't be assed wiring in switch so just use the fuse holder as the switch haha. And then they get grumpy at me because now they're on the car but don't work. So then I got smart to him and asked him if the speakers I left in the car after taking out HU had to work.

By memory they're a T1D210 which is the dual 2ohm coils. No idea what they're worth, I bought them for a stupid amount of money, something like $600 each. On another note, has anyone heard of these guys? http://www.stereointegrity.com/ As far as shallow sub's go, overseas forums seam to rave about them. Can't purchase off them at the moment, as they're in the process of releasing the new version. But I'm probably going to get one for the e39 wagon and replace factory sub. There's some awesome videos of them testing out one of them on youtube.

I have two RF 10's. First had them in a really basic small sealed box and this was nice, and then swapped to a single one in the ski hole with a really whorey IF setup which wasn't really IF at all, it was more open baffle. With the RF, the second setup sucked big time compared to the sealed box. Probably because of how lazy I was with the second setup, and the fact that the driver specifically said not to use it in IF haha. I'll definitely be going back to sealed box when I start on a system for the e39. EDIT: You can buy both my RF Power 10's if you want? Or just one. One's got a small dent in the metal cone. The other is in top condition.

Parts stolen, keep an eye out for me please?

Oh awesome! Thanks for all the support guys, and the identification of my lip too haha. Surely something like this isn't even worth bothering to steal? But thieves aren't often the brightest bunch. -

Papanui, near northlands. Thanks! -
One of my cylinder's is leaking too, got AA in and he put some more fluid in and bleed the slave to just get me home. I was just about to assume that it was the slave, but I might not anymore (thanks glenn) haha.
-
So clutch cylinder died on the e30, so I parked it up on the street out of the way for a couple of weeks until I could get around to fixing it. When I parked it it looked like this: Come out this morning and it looks like this: Laaaaaame. Anyway, I can't say I pay a huge amount of attention to other people's cars but I don't think I've really seen another front lip like this one on another e30. So if you all could please perhaps keep an eye out for it to help me track down the arseholes who like to help themselves to my stuff. It wasn't even in good condition either, it was almost falling apart haha. Any help would be appreciated, cheers all.

Is the Parrot chip for bluetooth or what? Also the double radio tuner I'm guessing is an analogue/digital tuner? Doesn't make a lot of sense to be recording radio on one channel while listening to it on another haha. Sounds exciting though.
