Nah not for a paint job. Its around $1000 from the dealer for them to buy and apply the gardx to your car for you when you buy a new car. Its just a protectant for your paint to keep it nice and minimise watermarks etc... But i did get a nice $743 bill from the dealer today. Yum cant wait to pay it.....

Yeah the car was 16 years old so I think it was doing pretty well for itself.. Umm sh*t I have no idea. I have about $600 worth of products in my laundry.. All sorts of different things that give different results.. I also use GardX... costs around $1000 for the dealer to do it for you

Thats the spirit, everyones got a 3 series, be a tiny bit different and go for the bigger car

You can get away with two I reckon.. I did mine last year and it was still firmly stuck when i sold it a few weeks ago.. Flick me a PM and we can sort something
-
Flick up a pic of how bad it is at the moment man. I could probably lend a hand sometime, it seriously is really easy. just gotta buy the right glue. 3M 90 is the best, you can get it from Gordan Harris in Newmarket its about $40 a can. I used about 3, but I think you can get away with using 3... Here are some pics before and after of mine...

Huge difference man! I always do mine by hand which is a pain in the ass most the time and to get polish to work properly you need lots of friction, so the pad and paint gets hot. So buffer comes in handy there! Its often overlooked what a bit of polish can do to a car... Can deffinatly save you money on resprays. Which is what I always used to do when my paint looked yuck. Im looking forward to seeing the final result mate -
Im keen for this too, once prices etc are established. Is it still connected up to trial?

Ahh Clay bar, good to see people are catching on. People are always amazed by the results, but everyone is always skeptical about it. Really does make a difference and makes drying your car so much better. I am a little fussy with paint and car cleanliness in general. This is my routine for good paint... - Rinse - Wash (using lambs wool) - Rinse - Dry - Clay bar - Cutting compound on rougher scuffs and marks if needed - Megiars 3 step Paint Cleaner Paint Polish Carnuba Wax - Gard X Paint protection Stage 1 Stage 2 - Dust off and done

There isnt enough E39 love on here, get amongst it and spread a little...

I called my mate and he said Subaru do a upper engine cleaner, and you use it the same way as Seafoam. Think he said it was about $25 - $30 from the Subaru dealership.. Maybe try that one. Bimmersport upper engine cleaning day? BYO Gas mask.

Dude do it yourself, its real easy to do. It just looks daunting. I did it in my E36 coupe last year it wasnt sagging but it had a ciggarette burn on it from some disgusting woman. I had it out of the car, retrimed and back in the car with a hour and a half. You can probably get it done pretty cheap. It cost me a lot becasue I did it all in black suede which Im about to do again in my E39 which its headliner is sagging in some spots.. I think i did a write up somewhere..
-
Yea I wanted to try this also, but I dont want to be there to see the smoke since I'll probably freak out. My mate said you can use Moreys Upper Cylinder lubricant aswell and it works pretty much the same if you cant get your hands on the seafoam stuff..

Hey man, I got a few mates that might be around highbrook etc, I text them all and told them to keep and eye out and gave them your number if that helps
