Sometimes when I drive my car I feel like I am in a tent. Although I have not ever been camping I beleive it would be like my car. So I decided it was time to go pick up some Alcantara suede and sort that sh*t out. Since we all love before and after photos, here you go...... (note the flash makes it look crazy, its not quite as in your face as that..)

Idiot things previous owners have done to your car.

The main idiot thing the previous owner did to my car is let a vagina own it. They just dont know how to look after cars... I dont know what the f**k the whore did in it but there is high heel holes everywhere -
Looks worth while but how long will it stay looking nice and black? Im going to be taking my parcel shelf out too on Wednesday to get it trimmed in black suede insted.. You dont happen to know a link where it explains how to take the rear deck out, one which has a electric roller blind inside it...

Hey man, welcome. Sounds like you got a kinda cool project on your hands. I say do it man.. As for the 'special key' to reset your service lights isnt a bit issue at all. Most mechanics have them and you can get them online, it can also be done with a paperclip.. Auto gear boxes should be fine and should last a very long time but thats all dependent on how the car has been treated over the years.. You will find on E39's that the cooling system can be a bit of a bitch sometimes, mostly just on the 6 cylinder versions. The clear expansion tank on the side of the radiator tends to leak over time along with a few other places the cooling system can leak but not a huge issue as long as you dont neglect the car. Window regulators are another common fail on E39's I have just recently learnt, not cheap if your going Brand new OEM.. But aside a few issues like everycar they are nice cars. They didnt win World Car of the Year for several years in a row for no reason haha Keep us updated!

My rear window regulator went crack the other day... Im after a new one/ working used one for my car. It is for the right rear window, this is the part number that Real OEM spat out at me 51358159836 If anyone has one or can point me to a website where I might find a aftermarket item, let me know! Cheers fellas

Yeah it was publicised on the news and was on Trade Me. I forget how much it was on there for but it finally sold for $2.8 mill. It really is a shame that its not treated the best, I'd hate to go see it in person and what state its in now. Lots of hard work semi down the drain. Oh well. Its an amazing plane either way and hopefully like as some have already touched on that you just cant get another one. Its rare even when they are for sale if at all.. Maybe one day when im grown up I can get one back in the family!

It was a while ago that the family sold the Spitfire to Yan-Ming Gao ( Owner of North China Shipping Holdings co.) Some might remember the thread Here I finally got some follow up on whats happening with it now.. He donated it to China Aviation Museum in Bejing where it is set up on display in such a discusting way. Its not even kept in a hanger and is covered with a net where it is subjected to some sexy acid rain that China gets. Anyway here is a cool picture I found of it back in the 1970's and it in its current state now in China. Thought some of you would like some follow up on how it all panned out, even though it is a bit disappointing, lets hope that display is tempory

Bit of a mystery then man... But then again carjam isnt always 100% accurate. It said my old E30 325i was NZ new when it was from South Africa. Its quite a fortunate mistake for resale but not accurate haha

Are they tinted? maybe he just swapped the windows out for some weird reason
-
Because maybe at some point your car had its window replaced off a wreck? just maybe.....

Im pretty sure I saw this today, looking good mate made me turn my head even

Its a must really. It would make a cool car even cooler. Just seems silly having a giant stereo in my dash that does pretty much nothing but control the CD changer and I still hate the tape player. Thankfully that is hidden behind the wooden door. Cant wait for the E39 release!!

Cant wait to get my mitts on one for my E39... looks cooler than the E46 one in my opinion. More stock looking at least..

Yuss, Speed Show! Just so people know... The M3, 550i, X6 M, X1 are all my handy work.... I even drove the X6 there myself and polished it up

Weird. If it came from Japan like that it shouldnt have even got compliance with those in...

I dont think they can just fail you because they are aftermarket. Surely they had a reason why the are not WOF-able? Maybe the lights are set up for left hand drive use. Like you I like the look of the lights you have much more than the otherwise Pre-facelift lights. My advice would be to maybe try for a WOF somewhere else and if the same problem pops up there then it might be an issue you will need to seek an alternative or maybe a different set if lights. As stated already, there are different bulbs you can put in to factory headlight housings to give the white/blue Xenon look the the lights or just switch them out for your WOF then put them back in and run the risk of getting caught for that, even though the lights look so good!

Yeah sounds about right.. I knew it was a kind of silly number plate but I guess its the same as me having B1MMER. Guess we should start a wanky PPlate club. Yea always see him in Remuera a few times a week. Still get the nod and wave
