  1. So, Precision was closed for over NY so I went on a mission to find another good panel beater and I ended up doing a deal with NewMarket European Panel beaters which the quote was $1040. That includes fixing the door rather than getting a 2nd hand one paint + blends and clear coat on the entire side of the car. Pretty good deal I thought. Anyone else have dealings with them in the past?
  2. Yea I am grateful for the honest folk of St Marys Bay haha Now my next mission was trying to find a panel beater I trust that is open this time of year!! Oh well I'll get it done next week
  3. Id say it will be fine mate, since they had stated they changed the guage because of the fuel metre not working properly is a fairly decent reson I suppose and if the LTSA are aware of all that since it has gone through them with most things I wouldnt worry too much. But if it does worry you its easy enough to find another car with similar low KMS as that model is pleantiful. Welcome by the way
  4. Does the LED lights for the liscence plate make the warning light show up on the check lights inside that cabin?
  5. Oh I know I can still go away just it was all planned that I'd have my car but if its at the place getting fixed I'll be without a car. But yeah either way its still frustrating. I do count myself very lucky though it was good honest people who owned up and said they will fix it.

    300000km

Thats awesome mate!! Kinda makes me wonder what the maintence cost of 300,000kms of motoring is!?
  7. Well at least someone gets it. I mean Im totally happy that she and her Husband came over and told me what happened. I just found it funny if they asked if there was always a dent there haha. But yeah Im just pissed off that having my car sit in a panel beaters getting fixed over the holiday period kind of throws off my plans of what I was meant to do. So hopefully shes back in tip top shape soon for summer crusing which is why I bought a new car in the first place haha By the way does anyone know the colour code for Mauritius Blue? The colour sticker from my engine bay has gone astray I've noticed.
  8. I was merely making a joke out of my misfortune. its the internet, lighten up.
  9. So my ever so kind neighbour delivered me a late Christmas present this afternoon.... More like she drove her Range Rover out of her garage into the side of Bimmersports favourite calender car!! Getting pretty pissed off with getting the brunt of peoples dumb-ass-ness. Still havent got my wing mirror fixed from the last epic oppsy. Oh well it was a accident and is going to Prescion Autowerk for a quote tommorow, just looks like I wont be going away for New Years Grrr had the worst luck lately with cars.. End Rant

  13. Its funny how pretty much everyone mentioned to desaturate the photos... I think he got it the first time it was mentioned.. Car looks great dude, deffinatly need the centre caps to to finish it off.. What happend to the E46 wheels that used to be on it?

    E36 keys

Get a non-chipped one so if you do loose your master key you still have the key pattern to get a proper new one made off it and plus its good to have as a non-chipped key will still get you inside the car for if you lock your master one inside.
  15. I agree, you cant really compare apples with oranges. As I dont think you can compare a BMW to a Mitsubishi for example, they just arnt the same breed of car. As everyone who has stated above the history of the car is important, as well as the condition of the car when you go to see it, even the condition of the paint and how well they keep the car can also be a genral indication of thoughrough the owner must be with the rest of the stuff. My advice would be to take your time, the E36 shape you are after are pleantiful and there are a lot of good ones, so look at a whole range, maybe even a bad one just to give you some perspective on whole to judge the good ones. You can be very fussy if you want, I think I looked at about 6 E36's before I settled with my one. I will admitt when you look at them you see a few flaws and you sometimes are like hmmm I guess its not that bad I could learn to live with that but I guess that was just me gagging to get into a new car haha. So yeah find a minter, with a decent sized engine (something I wish I did!) and have it checked out throughroughly make sure there arnt too many little dents or scratches, they start to piss you off after a while!

    Spotted: Bmw Z1

Ive driven a green Z1 proberbly the same one, uses a M20B25 its kept in such good condition, he gets it serviced way too often all the mechaics at work always comment on how they are always changing the oil when its not even a tiny bit dirty, love the drop down doors.
  20. I always heard Plasmas wernt reliable, I have no idea how this could be but thats what I was told so at house house I bought a 32" Phillips LCD for my bedroom and a 20" Phillips for the Kitchen, both a great tv's. Just as long as they are plugged into proper airial things if your watching TV, bunny ears are stupid haha
  21. So, I went back to the resturant to talk to the guy who did it, gave him the two quotes. Cant say he was overjoyied about it but thats not my problem but for a young dude he was good about it and hopefully it will be sorted by next week. Worse comes to worse it was all caught so perfectly on camera and I'll just send it to the police and let them deal to it haha Meanwhile... My mirror is still ductaped to the car. Any ideas on a tempoary fix that will hold it in place and is a bit more aesthetically pleasing than lots of different coloured ductape? haha
  22. Yea I do the same thing Josh, only it was my mate who was using my car parked it right out front, which is handy as it is right under the video camera so my mate watched it this morning and he said its all on camera clear as day.. Got some quotes/ damage control today The pasenger side was totally sweet and clipped back in. The drivers side was bad as the metal clips inside the mirror snapped so I need a new mirror so I went to work and got a quote on the new mirror. Excluding the glass and unpainted obviously that costs $461.20 So all up the first quote to re-attach and paint the new mirror and fix the the gauges in the door paint is $1141.20 (Including OEM mirror) and the second quote (which is actually my most perfered place costs $1012.48 (also including the mirror) So I cant wait till my mate hands the boy the quotes for him to choose which one he wants to pay... haha
  23. This is what we use at JCBMW mostly only pacer products, they work very well, you can get the restore-all through them www.pacer.co.nz
  24. Yea it was good of him to front up and say what happend and say he will pay for it, so I'll get it fixed and all painted and he can pay.
  25. Okay, here we go, Coincidently this all occured withen 50 metres of Botany Motor Works... I dropped the BMW to my mate who is the chef at the restuant on the corner of that intersection. I took his Audi for the day. Went back there tonight after my uni exhabition, car was fine when I saw it walking in as it was parked right infront of the entrance to the resturant.. Saw my mate, hung around upstairs and had a beer, I go to leave and was like err where is my mirror? So I was litterally standing by my car scratching my head and someone came out and was like dude im so sorry these dudes we doing this and that and then they tried to fight me by your car and the mirrors got knocked off etc. This dude stunk like brewry and was saying how he will pay for it and I was like yip what ever mate I'll send you the bill. My mate came out to leave also and he ended out knowing the dude and so yeah, he can pay for it to be fixed along with the nice fresh down to the primer scratches on the door from the mirror grinding up against the paint.. I will be resolved haha
