The set is update-able from the net ( working on it ).Mates/family etc bimmer's I know so far, I just punch in the chassis, and wamma, it's all there. As for the sparky side of things, haven't had a problem, because the diagnostics/recall info gives me all the info I need to track/trace problems so far. ( mine and others )

You need to answer these following questions: Are you doing Macro? Do you want loooong exposure times? Resolution, 4 MP will be enough I would imange. What are you taking pics of, cars, scenary, racing, night time etc How many high res shots will you take (relating to card memory ) Size..small, thin, does it matter? Do you need zoom?... a attachable lens maybe?

I was told by a friend he used Frend carpet spray cleaner stuff. Stunk like a bitch for a little, but they came up like new and no fading. And hes a grubby mechanic always covered in crap. If you do try it, I suggest testing it on a part you dont see first. Myself - I would go to a car groomer and pick their brains.

To your question, I was simply referring to the maintainance between the two if a failure or reco was needed, in this particular case.For example: It's alot easier to rip out a wee turbo and reco it than dissmantle a supercharger to reco. Time wise, a turbo is alot quicker also. I enjoy ( ed ) doing a supercharger more than a turbo, purely cos I love my eights... personal thoughts. I didn't explain myself well, but I rarely do after a few and on a KB ...plus I moved house today, and last night was a drunken blurr before PC pack up Loving da new place now set up...on da piss again..wohooo!

I've built both turbo and super charged motors, being a mechanic for eons, I won't go into the the WHY'S and DO NOTS, purely because I was given the bits and told to slap it togehter. My personal opinion is if you have a V8.... supercharge, a four or six, turbo the suker. I love the sound of a super charger, but only on a 8. A turbo on a four or six pot, I believe, is more benificial power wise. Turbo lag is a drag, but thats cool because if you were 'boosting' all the time, you would be driving round like a rally driver everywhere. To reco a turbo is a piece of piddle, but a supercharger is a minor majour, so the turbo wins there for me. Dats my 2 euros......

That was nice - boy racers owned by utter class. Perfect. However - seeing this does not help my resistance to update my beamer to a newer model, dammit!

only reason I can think of is the garage will need a 100 odd dollar tool to 'reset' the service lights back to full, or green if you like. I would recommend however, to go to someone whom services these cars often, and has a good reputation.
