    TYRES rubbing

By how much does it hit the chassis? Could you fabricate spacers to fit between the mags and discs, and if needed longer wheel studs to match?... would be hidden from old farts eyes at a testing station picking on you cos they missed out the night before.

    735i air con

in the EPC, they come up as different part numbers. So - unless you want to modify / make brackets, It wont fit. Also - the pully may be different. Don't know the compatability between air con units, but a pressor is a pressor .

    Noisey Dizzy??

only if it comes back. If it does, grab a socket set extension, shove one end in your ear, and the other onto the suspected noise maker. "feel' around with your stethoscope until you find where the noise is being emitted from/loudest. Obviously, dont go jamming it in the rad fan or on the dizzy leads or anything stuipd like that

    Noisey Dizzy??

just a thought - check ya water pump before you go home tonight... if thats collapsed or collapsing, you will hear a bearing noise. Better safe that sorry man! haven't heard of a dizzy bearing giving up teh ghost in a car liek yours, yet

    Ruined E36?

Hmmm.... i'v seen some basterized cars before, but this guy, as my wife puts it, HAS RUNED A FUKEN NICE CAR. And yes - she yell's it out. I would be embarrased to been seen next to it. Harsh maybe - but true.
  12. long day at kohi beach under the baking sun today - much too drink...ment to be pride....pride man!
  13. Welcome - enjoy your ride and wear her with ride!
  14. you won't need to 'pull apart' ( and I don't understand what you are saying with the 'pull apart' comment ) a water pump to test. If its leaking, it's obvious. If the bearing is noisy, you will hear it, and if the bearing has collapsed, you will defently know about it.Just take off the pully belt, grab it with your manly hands, and if it has 'play' laterally or otherwise its knackered, or rumbles when you spin it, its time for a NEW one...
  15. best place for a ford i say :finger:
  16. Under reacall campain 228, the radiator caps were replaced. The old ones cracked and made the motors overheat. Water didn't escape, well it did, but was steam, not that noticable apparently. Have alook at your rad cap for these numbers. Part number: 17111742232 for a M20 Should be 1.4 BAR ( 140 on top of cap ) If its been replaced, there should be a sticker on drivers or passengers side door under the door latch somewhere with 220 punched out of it. Not sure if da jappas would of done this thou. This is the recall campain on overheating for your car witout a obvious leak. Also - check your low speed resister - these are faulty in most models. Symptom: Aux fan does not operate at low speed and/or fuse for aux fan blown. Thats all I can find on overheating on your car with no obvious water leakage.
  17. If it's a VANOS, I hear you need a big mint
  18. Come to think of it I got heaps at work. It's "gone off'", so printers can't use it. I used it to remove a complete van signange glue residue off one of my work vans. Bring over a tin and I'll splash some your way. I'm in penrose, if thats any help.
  19. Post your chassi number and I'll punch it into the TIS software, and check for common O/H problems for your car. I'll reply tommorw, cd's at work ready for burning
  20. You can try Printers Spirits, or commonly called isopropylene....some spelling like that. You can get small bottles from a chemist. It will soften the glue making it easier to come off, and wont root ya paint. There is another good reason for Isopropalene just cant remember it right now :pimp: Black gold, texas something... Oh, and don't buy 20L of it, cos the police will look sideways at you .
  21. Getting the tint to stick would be a real problem, not to mention moisture and heat from the bulbs, I would say 100% failure and looking cheap and crappy would be worse. Nothing stopping you picking up some second hand ones and experimenting I guess.
  22. Hey. I know this has been discussed somewhat before. I can halve my insurance if I have a alarm fitted. Now - I don't wan't some cheap shitty alarm, I wan't one that will be, ahem, bullet proof as it can be, and BMW approved ( if such a thing ) Now I'm the first to admit that if some a-hole want's your car, they will take it no matter what fancyass system you got. I had, years ago, the best alarm at the time on my car, and It was stolen without a sound ( outside my damn bedroom window, along with 2K worth of snapon tools...dammit ), so I am looking at a reduction in insurance costs, but want the best ( feature wise ) there is at the same time. Thoughts on make/brand preferable mobile fitter appreciated. Cheers  note: will spend upto 1K... but 700 odd sounds resonable....?
