  1. still no answer to my question..

if we wanted to we can put the claim through insurance and get everything fixed, i have the guys name address plate drivers license number phone number everything.

its just that i know if we go through insurance and go to a repair place, they will charge probably something like $3000 when its not going to cost that much.. and the poor dude who hit my dads car is gonna have to cough it all up eventually, for the profit of the insurance company/panelbeaters.

so i suggested he just pays for my repairs privately, i am just asking roughly how much do you guys think it will cost to repair/replace+paint.

    thanks

  2. so my old man just got rear ended and turns out the guy that hit his car doesnt have insurance,

my dads covered fully and we can put in a claim and get it fixed that way but the guy would prefer to have a private settlement.

help me get an idea of how much it would cost to get this fixed or replaced (new/secondhand + paint)

    car is a non-motorsport 528

how much should i ask that guy to pay? (realistically)

    thanks

  3. Hence why I said a mint one would be worth 7-9k, meaning not necessarily this one....

If you bothered to read the first sentence of my posts I suggested its probably around 4k.

What I meant was even a mint one is not worth that price :) just my opinion anyway

  4. reduced price from $8000 to $6500.. seems to be a bit more reasonable.. considering all the other el cheapo $3000 e36's on trademe...

scott: yea i do like to look of factory tail lights as well :) but hey, its only about $50 or so if you can find a set on trademe and its a easy swap

oh and badges are still factory with black vinyl on top of the white and blue pizza slices :) can easily be removed too hehe

seanv: make me an offer on the mags, i may consider if i can find another set of wheels to replace these with for the sale.

  5. Can do it for you... but not for $140... the correct oil costs more than that and a genuine filter is $20 + Gst

So what oil will you be using? and how much will it cost? i dont mind paying as long as i know what im getting.. whereas from the quotes i mentioned i have no clue what oil they will use and i know they rnt using genuine filter!

btw i have genuine filter to use.

    cheers

  6. whats the best way to go about an oil change for a e36 323ci 1997 (m52)?

i got quoted $140 for full oil and filter using a brand called sinopec.

otherwise castrol 10w30 was $110 for just oil >_<

from the bit of search i did supposed to use 5w40?

and the car takes about 7L of oil? so if i was to DIY, i need to get 2x 5L bottles..

also where to dispose old oil if i decide to diy oil change?

    thanks
