Not sure about what? Your sexuality?
:-P

Very giving of you, good stuff.
Wanna adopt me and fix up the e34 lol? -
+1,
A lot of people think I paid 10-15k for the e34 lol... -
Dry weather for extended periods followed by rain is always a bit hariy. Throw shitty tyres on a big car and the equation gets even tougher.
Sorry to hear chief. -
tidy! Is this one of those golden remuera side of the road finds?
-
Why not ??
i'm surprised you're not getting this guy on as a consultant Glenn... he's clearly got it all figured out...

http://maps.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/aucklandcouncilviewer/ - awesome tool
If you can put up with the smell and lack of space at rush hour the train is OK... I hate public transport but some people don't mind.
There's a lot of free car parking 5 minutes walk from Newmarket if you get here early enough. I start work on broadway at 7am and never have trouble finding a (free) park
Otherwise earlybird caparking is $7 - get around birds shitting on your car everyday...
Avoid the motorways at all costs!!!!!!
-
if it was just the cops I wouldn't mind so much - it's the speed cameras that get me... so unsporting
-
Great price!

I'm after the intake elbow that connects the MAF to throttle body like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Intake-Air-Boot-BMW-E34-525i-Touring-and-Sedan-/260696370001?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cb2b6eb51&vxp=mtr

Obvious questions:
-What fuel are you using,
- what tyres & pressures do you run ?
Our E39 528 averaged 10.6 over the 298,000 km it had clocked up when we sold it:
- worst was 14.6 when booting the crap out of it
- best was 7.3 on a trip to Rotorua with the full family of 5 and all the crap including mountain bikes for a weekend of fun.
- Start stop stuff was around the 10.6 - 11.0 mark.
P.S. it was manual.
I only run 95. Tyres are Bridgestone Potenza G3 (predecessor to the re001 i believe) @ 34psi
I have the early m50 - so no vanos
Manual box does make a hugee difference - no doubt.

I Cleaned the ICV out today. What a huge difference that has made - car is running the best it has since I've owned it. In doing so I also managed to identify 2-3 serious vaccuum leaks that will explain the fuel consumption.... so time well spent.
The ICV clean took much less time than I expected so I went and bought some new plugs to occupy the rest of the afternoon.
I somehow managed to break one of the coil pack connectors.... so now the old girl is running the worst it has since I've owned it. That also means I have to take the train to work for the next few days until I can get it running on 6 cylinders again
Will be interesting to see if the cleaner ICV does anything for fuel consumption or if that will only improve when I get the hoses/intake replaced -
The maintenance... oh god the maintenance

What design of plates are you guys referring to?
The NZ style ones with southern cross and fern? -
-
I think the main issue was the font is slightly different on the overseas ones because plates.co.nz complained and said "their" font couldn't be used. And our speed cameras can only read the font used by plates.co.nz.
Plate surrounds are therefore ok.
I wish - Have had 2 camera tickets with the euro plates...
106km/h on a long weekend and 61km/h in a 50 area...

Seems it's only a problem north of the bridge... too many cops and not enough meth there

I have to do the control arm bushes too - been avoiding it for months
Try Darren (forum sponsor) for some new rotors. The price he gave me for a set was sublime - barely more than you'd pay for a skim.
Free shipping within Auckland too I think! -
Probably all good questions to be asking Mercury mate
And now it's Holdens turn
