  1. Why cant he just write in or speak to a JOP in the Community Centers of his town for some advice.

I was being serious, My friend was telling me the other day what to do if a cop calls you to court with small issues like this, its got something to do with a maori treaty or something in northland where if you represent yourself as part of this organization then you are above the court. He even told me how people rips off winz. I am going to find out more next time.

well if your mate said it it must be true

judging by the factual nature of your posts I have no doubt the company you keep is equally trustworthy

  2. I had a $400 fine from these pigs last year because I crashed my car and called them to report it, so eventually they kept changing the story and ended up pinning it on my lisence, for which I paid $25 to have NZTA fix it. :D

Hahahaha oh that's right. I completely forgot how retarded you are.

Booked that one way plane ticket yet?

  3. Just to bump this thread. A lot has gone on, I had to rebuild the motor again (two pistons cracked) and this time did it myself, suffice to say its running a lot better now, compression tests are up to around the 210psi mark, up from 180-190 that the last build got.

Big thanks to M3AN on the forum for letting me rent your timing tools, I will replace the pin I bent after this weekend is over :)

Now making some really good power at the wheels, 310rwhp to be exact, it's also making over 300rwhp from 6000-7500rpm which is primo.

There are heaps of pics on the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/bmw303 and I put little updates a lot of the time.

We are racing this weekend in the 6 hour enduro, live feed will be live.hamptondowns.com - I will be having a live in car feed as well.

Nice work. I enjoy your facebook updates.

That seems like huge power atw. Is it all in the tune?

  4. Donate $200,000 to different Charaties.

Give Away my 328is to a friend/bimmersport community.

Give Away all my stuff (not much) for free...

$3,000 one way plane ticket out of New Zealand...

What are you spending the remaining $4.797m on?.. Therapy and Prozac?

  5. Go somewhere far removed for a month to consider my options. Then hopefully arrive at something like this:

Pay off student loan - $30k

Racing car of some description $50k

Late model euro of some description, probably an f10 m5 or 550d. Maybe even a maserati quattroporte or whatever the new one is called. $100-$150k

Travel/ski until I get bored of it $100k

Bank $500k on call and the remaining $3.5m in term deposit.

Finally I would speculate the remaining $500k in financial markets.

I would continue renting until house prices/rents normalize. No point buying a $1.5m house in Auckland that nets maybe 2% p.a. - some other sucker can take the other side of that trade.

I would quit my job and try my best to keep the winnings secret/formulate a really good cover story.

I would tip good customer service people with Rutherfords.

  6. Just pulled the thing apart.

Notice the broken mount. I believe this is putting the central locking mechanism out of alignment and causing the issue. The latch mechanism itself is working perfectly - the only time it wont latch is when its fixed in place.

So I need a replacement handle/lock mechanism like this (sorry for crap image):

Very glad I bought a Bentley service manual a while back. Mate this job much smoother.

If anyone local or otherwise can help please let me know. 0274977188

  7. Failed wof for excessive play in front wheels. Also have a good shudder at highway speeds while under light braking. Would I be right to inspect thrust arms first?

I failed a wof 6 months ago on lower control arm bushes. From memory they knew the exact fault and highlighted the worn bush with a marker.

Failure is a likely cause of the shudder

  8. That pair of 'highways' is appalling, and more akin to a UK 'C' road in terms of grade. They're kind of more like country lanes, except that they link major towns. I guess it's something we'll just have to deal with, but it does feel like we get short changed in the roading department. In some ways, we have a decent network of roads given our geography and size, but equally, there are countries in Europe with similar populations to that that of NZ which not only have an amazing road network - but one that is smooth and light years ahead of ours in terms of quality. Places like Denmark for instance. Challenging climate - but wonderful roads - and more of them too relative to size. NZ will probably always push the use of this dreadful coarse chip and the false economy that it entails. Governments here have never known how to do something once and do it right. It's always been a case of do it on the cheap and make it last as long as possible.

Where's the money going to come from?

How much more fuel/income tax are you prepared to cough up?

  9. I have never come close to crashing due to the condition of the road. Any of the remotely hairy situations I have been in are either my own or someone elses doing.

If you're on a sh*t road drive as though you are.

NZ drivers are much more dangerous and frustrating than the roads.

  10. An E36 M3 suggests a used value of $15k - $20k for a good one. A good 745i 2002 - 2005 on TradeMe still sells for $15k - $25k, that's not half if my math is correct when using averages on TradeMe and not a $7k basket case as a comparison.

As a function of the purchase price it is.

But hey, why worry about depreciation when Mummy and Daddy cover it right! Right!? LOL

    Tool.

  11. These same tired (jealous) arguments seem to come up in every new BMW thread. If you want a car that is dynamically the same as an e30 then buy an e30.

This is one of the rare occasions I agree Clarkson - the m4 is really the ultimate all round car. The e92 m3 was also lauded by dozens of independent motoring journos for being the perfect, do everything car.

Bigger than last E92 series longer& wider in wheel base & overall . but lighter. Must be almost as big as the origonal 5 series . . Id prefer the new 2 series especialy the M235 with the big turbo six , looks more like origonal M concept of small racy coupe , who cares about rear leg room & luggage capacity you dont buy it for that send it on ahead these are toys not family friendy shopping trolleys .

Your posts are terribly difficult to read.

And be honest though. In your m235i you would only have a gut wrenching feeling of inferiority with this filling your rear view mirror:

    2014-BMW-M4-Silver-White-F82-Concept-01.

  12. I like it. I'm still not used to the idea or sound of a turbo on an M car but that will change in time.

Too big in my opinion. I park next to a 2013 3 series at work.

It is only slightly smaller than my E60. It makes the E92 and E36's that park nearby look small.

Parking my E30 next to it is a real laugh. Twice the damn size.

    It's lighter than the e46 m3 though.

  13. My bridgestones are about 8 years old and have similar cracking.

Despite being close to worn out the tyres have plenty of wet and dry grip. Shitloads more than any brand new cheap (sub $150) tyre I've ever used.

Are they perfect? No. Are they safe? Yes.

If they were kingstars I would bin them but a decent brand will be fine.
