  1. The price list is too old, I haven't got time to update it yet, All prices in there are dropped.

    Navigation conversion is now $1550

    Bluetooth is now $949

BMW 6FL, 644 Bluetooth, ipod, usb retrofit for idrive car from $1499

Reversing camera for idrive car is $1099 (sedan) $1199 (wagon)

    CIC retrofit is also available.

Now we can do BMW OEM combox 6NR, Internet, iPod video on CIC car.

For UK import BMW, We can convert your CIC HDD map to NZ for $450. this apply to all E or F chasiss.

BMW retrofit need a lot of knowledge about coding programming, also some special tools to do such thing. We can do many things that BMW dealer can't as we have more knowledge and constantly developing new solutions for new BMWs.

looking forward to a digital tv tuner being on that list.

  2. Always been with NAC

Have bad history so it isn't cheap.

i dont even ask for quote any more i just give them the creditcard and say bill me (not like anyone else will insure me anyway!)

They have always paid out and they let you take the car where ever you like for repairs.

They have a small windscreen excess but thats kinda "so what" considering the cost of replacement is quite large for most OEM Euro.

  3. Well took the car for its WOF this morning.

Passed - Clear and without warnings, no mention about the Xenon.. The guy said the beamform was spot on and level was fine, I asked the specifically to check for that.

    Yay me :)

Wouldn't take WOF as any kinda guidance on whether or not it is correct, took a Falcon for a COF (comercial WOF) at VTNZ and they asked if it was front or rear wheel drive after being under the car!

  4. Radio can be done via coding (about $300 to get someone to do it for you) its not simple and the equipment to do it will cost you more than $300 so dont bother unless you plan to do lots of cars. DO NOT USE A BAND EXPANDER THESE ARE S***.

You will either have the CCC or new CIC system (i think yours will be CCC) CCC is the one with 1 or 2 buttons by the idrive wheel and CIC has 7? buttons around the wheel.

CCC Nav works off a DVD/CD for the NAV, the disc itself is rather easy to obtain (can use an australian one as it contains NZ and AU maps) but for the Nav to work in NZ it will require a complete CCC computer replacement and recoding, this would run you around 2k+ there is NO way around this do not let anyone trick you into thinking its just a map CD its most definitely NOT.

CIC Nav is harddrive based which requires the maps to be loaded to the internal hard drive and the FSC? code which is specific to the VIN of the car to be registered (i dont know the pricing on this but im pretty sure being an '06 your CCC anyway) note im pretty sure this would require CIC unit replacement and coding.

Phone, depends what is in there now? if its a actual phone handset then its throw away it won't work in NZ. If its bluetooth (almost all japs seem to lack this, idk why) then you should be good to go just pair your phone. it is posible to retrofit bluetooth (if you have nothing or you have a jap phone) but its not cheap and requires hardware (new TCU) and coding. this is also in the 1-2k mark as far as i am aware.

I have the factory bluetooth (nz new) i can honestly say its the best handsfree i've ever owned or used. absolutely perfect quality, sounds just as good as talking on the handset itself if not better, the system pulls your address book to the idrive, pairs flawlessly every time you put you key in and also displays your reception on the idrive screen.

  5. I am advertising them on TradeMe for $2 but you can have them for free.

    Cleaning out the garage ...

One has 2-3mm tread. The other has 5mm tread and has had a puncture repaired. They were originally on an E92 335i but I swapped the tyres.

Hopefully someone has a use for them rather than gathering dust in the garage here!

Must collect from Pt Chevalier in Auckland.

    Hi Dave,

Are these run flats? if so i'd be happy to take them off your hands, can pickup anytime.

  6. We are working on the fully integrated DVB-T solution for E46, E39, E53, E83, E85 OEM Wide sreen, also fully integrated DVB-T solution for E60,E90,E70,F10,F01 idrive system.

This will allow us to use BMW OEM screen and and control for NZ freeview.

Still doing the testing at moment, will provide more information once confirmed

    *thread resurrection*

any news on a DVB-T solution for E90 with CCC system?

  7. Every time I think about getting a later model BM, I read something like this and think, why?

If it's not cooling systems, it's electrics.

Come to think of it, I could have said a later model Euro.

Get an E90 (or something with FOB only)

then u dont have a "key" at all ... just kinda awkward when the electric steering locks stops working :P

  8. My e39 530i is needing a top up of coolant each week. Is that normal?

no thats not normal for any car.

cooling system is full of recycled plastic. Generally speaking needs an overhaul around 100-130k mark depending on how old it is. You may get away with replacing one failed component at a time but if you have the money its good to replace everything at once.

  9. Would be good to get one. Mine's in jap.

Could I send you some virtual beers in the form of a deposit in you BC and money for postage ?

cool just PM me your address its not very big can just send via normal mail (its only for the nav/monitor not the rest of the car)

  10. The OEM in dash monitor is exactly that JUST a monitor.

All the graphics are generated by the tv/video module in the boot.

it is a complex/expensive but not imposible retro fit (at least 2k)

alternative would be to install a dynavin unit which fits straight into the space and doesn't require all the other modules.

  11. I seem to have inadvertantly acquired an original NZ manual for the NAV system in a E46.

It says E46 on the book but i imagine would apply to anything with the older IBUS NAV system.

Not really exciting but thought someone might want to complete their owners manual pack, maybe someone who's done a jap retrofit?

    Free to a good home.

  12. Japan ones are always better spec'd than the NZ ones. The E60 "i drive" can be loaded with new software to convert GPS to NZ.

I believe there is still a hardware component as well as software that must be replaced.

Also worth noting that the tv wont work once analog is turned off in NZ (which will be periodically in the next year or 2)

here is another altho an 04, but NZ new and with NAV etc!

    http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/...n-409387856.htm

when you see 2005 it may not actually be an 05 this is just the date of first rego. you need to check the VIN for the actual build date.

  13. You would think showing the instrument cluster photo with overdue service showing wasn't the brightest thing to do. Especially with the comments he services BMW's

The amount of photos I've seen of the cluster with the car running and an engine check light is ridiculous

  14. 1)I wonder i f you can order a new 1 series WITHOUT run flats

2)I had to get two new tyres just before xmas. The car already had bridgstones Turanza and Continentals but neither of these were available.I got some pirelli P7 run flats but they were 400 each but they do seem to be slightly softer riding than the Bridgestones

    3) I will consider getting non run flats next time and trust a tyre pando and or tyre repair kit and a compressor

    4) forget about the M5 comment its not important

    re:

    1. i was under the impression that there was physically no room for a spare due to the diff placement? meaning BMW would i imagine be very reluctant to sell a car without an emergency solution ( i could be wrong)

    2.

    3. yea thats what i was thinking, also just realized there is probably no jack either?

  15. can you option them WITHOUT run flats???in my case i had to pay 400 each for a pair of pirelli 205/55 16 i think. They seem to more compliant than the bridgstone turanzas that they replaced.I have a pair of contis and the pirellis.I will SERIOUSLY consider non runflats and a pando.Isnt that what the e39 M5 has as standard?

didn't understand a word of that
