seen this on E39 sitting at dealers, it was a *surprise* to them when i pointed it out

Any one of you brothers have any spare or for sale bmw e38 clips. These are the clips that hold the wood trim onto the dash. I only need 2 for the small right hand side piece by the steering wheel.
Wreckers dont care about these clips and ebay ones each cost way too much with postage.
here is an attached pic of what it looks like.
Thanks for your timing guys.
you can pm me or text me 021632749.
go to the dealer they will be like 50c each

Err, there is heaps of places in Australia that are 90kph.
he meant for towing i believe.

im just waiting on the DVB-T tuner confirmation!

its been said sort of but...
There is no law against "Laser Jammers"
There is law against interference with police equipment
AFAIK no one has ever been done in NZ for having them.
Edit: I run a Escort 9500ci laser jammer/radar detector, have had it go off with laser before (saw cop pinging me) but i'm unsure as to whether i was actually going fast enough to get pulled over so i cant confirm if it actually did its job or not, reviews online seem to suggest it is a reasonable system but not the best. Most systems will eventually fail to jam if you are really close to the gun but generally they ping from a distance so you should have time to slow down. RRP is 2500NZD (which i did not pay). Running a V1 for radar and a laserstar would be a good option.
also remember for installation the laser (or rather infrared light) is line of sight so the jammer heads need to be located in clear view of the road to work, not behind grills etc (plastic or not).

The dashboard read "trans failsafe prog" so I don't think its a bad battery or alternator.
Bad battery/alternator = dirty/low power
dirty/low power = computer going abit french
computer going abit french = surrender
but yea could be heaps of things, needs to be check by someone who knows what they are doing not just a Muppet with the ability to read fault/error codes.
-
Would be interesting to know what they did to come to the conclusion that it needed to be overhauled. The failsafe can be caused by heaps of things eg. Bad battery/alternator.

How much is the DICE kit from that site?
email and ask there are different models for different features.

Looking to buy full set of M5 brushed aluminium trim.

i gues if its like a "private contractor" kinda thing

That sucks man, feel for ya. Do you park your car on the road?
Defiantly worth contacting insurance.
Battery acid is better, not only does it destroy the paint, it eats rubber, plastic, everything. Weed Sprayer in the middle of the night, the next morning the car will be f**ked.
So im told.
just make sure it doesn't eat through the application device first!

Hey, I'm interested in making an ibus cable to program the TV in motion feature also. Do you know where the ibus connector on the car is to plug this into? The cable looks simple to make from the schematics..
i asume you are talking E39? ... in dash on right side of steering wheel, its covered by a flap.
-
just exterior panels. not engine bay door frames or anything..
4k is reasonable, to completly strip it and paint absolutly everything u'd probably double that.
-
is it the paint itself or something on the paint?
been in the vicinity of an angle grinder?
-
pretty sure i've seen this on the road, all that can be said is WANT
-
Nice ...
Good example of how long these cars can last when they are looked after!
-
i also ordered one last week to change a few settings, as well as a obd-serial cable for EasyDIS in the hope that i can use DIS for more descriptive fault codes.
-
ah....thanks for that... bum, its production date is 2002/11 so i guess its not a 2003 one after all....
another question for you if thats alright..i'll figure out how to PM if you prefer... did you say you can install reverseing camera that will use the screen in the dash? if so can you give me an idea of $$ ? thanks
hmm that should be ok i think world tuners went in 9/02 onwards from memory so should just be a setting change in service menu.
hotwire has the backing cameras, i think the hardware is about $250, defiantly worth it especially if you don't have parking sensors.

ooo like the sound of this
can you elaborate on the Antenna setup? or recommended antenna setup?
-
thanks Grant. will consider. can you tell me where the AV input is? also the car dealer had a band expander installed but radio stops at 100FM (90 FM displayed on screen), which is a bugger because i want the Radio New Zealand at 101FM... is there only one kind of band expander or should i have specified they put in a kind that gets it up to 101FM thanks again for your help.
If the car is 2003 built (check the Chassis number), then the dealer is an
idiotuninformed. You don't need a band expander it is just a settings change, and then it will work as if it was nz new (for radio). If you are able to change the region tho you will need to remove the band expander they put in and fix whatever wiring they cut into.http://www.bmw-z1.com/VIN/VINdecode-e.cgi
put your vin/chassis into there, found printed on drivers side tower under bonnet, or look it up via rego plate at carjam.co.nz

^This, especially if it's a tail light sourced from a wreckers that's been sitting on a shelf for a while Make sure there is no corrosion on any contacts, lightly sand all the contacts, bit of CRC to clean them up and try again. Also make sure the bulbs seat properly on the contacts too as that can cause the OBC error to show up.
^ what he said
on another note, if it was an insurance job i would have expected the panel shop to get a brand new part from BMW.

Sweet photo of my cat just now! he's not moving unfortunitly

If it is still in failsafe then definatly they can see codes, if the codes were cleared and its no longer in failsafe there may or maynot be codes that have been logged scince (lots of errors are logged that dont come up on the display).
Regardless if you are having issues with it take to a BMW workshop.
