As above, need a RHS one as I have a nice big crack in mine, but will buy a pair if they are in mint cond and nobody wants to split a set apart. No cracks please. PM or post here. Cheers, Nathan

Needs some dish on the wheels to break up all the sharp edges in the kit IMO

Adjusted the idle screw on the TB from sub 500 to 750-950 on the rev counter as recommended by Haynes manual. Sounds so different and smoother at idle now (not like a bridgeported rotary lol) and we havn't had any stalling issues yet, hopefully I have sorted it. Now I wait and see....

Okay so have cleaned AFM, Throttle Body, Throttle body plug, AFM Plug, ICV, ICV Plug and tightened all the vacume hoses and it starts fine for the moment but still idling at like 250rpm instead of like 500+. So will adjust the idle screw according to manual specs and see where we go from there. I am enjoying chasing this around the car haha. Another thought I had was maybe getting an air compressor around that area and seeing if I can blow any moisture out, if that is what is causing it.

^ Sorry bro I am busy writing essays and tryna diagnose what the frick is wrong with the green machine, busy tomorrow night, but if you want to wait till tues night I will give you a hand. I have done 4 dashes now, it's not that hard Check your fuses too for the instruments after that short out.

^ Yeah the E30 that got pressure washed that I mentioned was Geoff's. I might be onto something. P.S got no credit, bring those rear springs Thursday along with some biers, we can give em a go

Cheers Oli, Paul and Max. Will try all those things. It also goes from starting fine, to idling as per normal then droping to 0 RPM and dying to not starting at all, hence why I have been stranded a few times. Quite frustrating. I have seen similar symptoms in a M20 that got pressure washed and wouldn't start. Ended up being water somewhere around the AFM and eventually dried out etc. I will note on one of the days it died whilst it was like monsoon season down here, maybe it is an after effect of that?

^ Yeap they are all brand new. I might try cleaning the TPS plug too.

So to add another chapter in the saga...it is still dying at idle. I think it is air related as it initially idling at 500rpm then dropping to 250rpm which is far too low. Will try cleaning out the idle control valve with throttle body cleaner and the associated plugs with electrical cleaner, then moving onto cleaning the AFM sensor with sensor cleaner. Anyone else have any pointers? Is there anyway to adjust idle speed? Hopefully if it is able to be raised, it will stop it dying. It has only ever died when it is idling, so I don't think it is the fuel pump, surely something to do with air. As I have said before we have tons of spark, 12v everywhere. Help is appreciated.

IMO the price you pay to have a set rebuilt + inital purchase, you miles well just hold out for a new set. I got mine brand new through Paul for about $475 a pair IIRC.

Did you remember to not connect the ABS wire....Mark had the same problem and it caused fires.

Going from this post: http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index....st&p=325265 yes they do with some 185's stretched on it. Unsure if that Jetta is a mk2 though, don't know my VW's very well. I am practically giving them away at this price. For more info on fitment, pm Jono, user: Zenetti who made the thread with the photos in it. Cheers

Our front valances look similar , looking good Matt, love the purple.

I need something like a 50-60mm rear drop (Jamex superlow?) or a 4cyl superlow/low rear spring? Even a superlow or compressed E36 rear spring if anyone can guarantee the spring rate to counter the extra bodyweight a E36 has. And before anyone asks I would prefer not to compress the Eibach's in there at the moment. Cheaper the better as I would rather not pay an arm and a leg for shipping. Cheers, Nathan

Not a fan Pjay, looks good unmolested. Nice experiment though.

Ended up being I had a earth come loose on the steering column and it seemed to fix it also cleaned the connection for the wiper relay in the fuse box and it works perfectly now. Try that Oli.

Well guess who's the pinhead forgot to connect the black and yellow wire that goes from the ign switch to the starter motor. I slammed my head in the drivers door as punishment lol. It starts now, just need to see if the troubles mentioned above continue. So it's bittersweet. The ign switch that came off the car before I replaced it with the new one looked all corroded and was shorting off another wire..so could be the cause. Fingers crossed !
-
Okay so I managed to take the ign switch off, it volt tested fine but had a couple dodgy looking kinks in the main ign wire so I replaced it. Managed to find a near new one off a car at pick a part even with the BMW part sticker etc still attached. Installed it, now I can get the lights etc on the dash to light up fine, but can't get it to crank. WTF has gone wrong/what is next tangent to follow? Just about ready to push it off a cliff

Try a decent upholsterer. The one I use here in Wellington said he could source it for me if needed.

If you want to do it yourself, at least buy a manual, the Haynes version has plenty of pointers on how to pull them out, if you own a E30 you will need one often anyway. You will need a engine crane or alternatively a double braced cross beam in a garage and a endless chain if you want to do it safely, otherwise there are plenty of other 'rangi' ways to do actually pull one out. If you don't want to buy the manual, google can find you a copied PDF version.... Do some more research before you go any further.

^ Cheers Grant, Lets just say he is a recommended local BMW mechanic and didn't know where the fuel pump relay is on a E30 and leave it at that. I am glad I wasn't paying anything. I haven't got the car back yet to check the voltage etc, your recommendations mirror what Glenn said to me on the phone so you guys must be right Will keep this updated with any findings.
