  1. Haha yeah its a great wagon. Thanks for the offer - it already has 17" wheels on it anyway. Cheers
  2. That's interesting, thanks Josh. I did like those wheels on your 330i. Would need to trial fit, as apparently tourings can have rubbing issues with 9.5" wide.
  3. I'm looking for a set of wheels for the Touring I just picked up. Ideal specs: - Either 18" or 19" - Preferably staggered - Good condition (not interested in refurbishing a set) Has anyone got a set lying around? Cheers (They are to go on this)

    E36 M3

Pretty sure it's just an M3 in a 318is shell, as stated above... Except he has put the new VIN plate on it, which creates the perception he's trying to hide that fact. Edit: But for $12k, it could be good fun!
  5. Just a quick note - thanks for this Ray. It'll make a great daily driver!
  6. I'd been waiting for this to arrive for a month or so. Looks like a well spec'd wagon to be honest, but unfortunately the dealer isn't very good at communication! Definitely worth a look.
  7. Thanks Ray - that's exactly what I'm after. Search over.
  8. Right - time to resurrect this thread. I'm on the hunt for an E46 / E39 touring (preferably msport). Up to $15k for the right car. Has anyone got one that isn't on TradeMe?
  9. That's what I don't understand - it's was less than 2 months since the original WOF that it was put through a pre-registration check again. Any other ideas? Or is it one of those things you just ignore?
  10. But usually simply putting new plates on doesn't require the "pre-registration check"?
  11. Guys, I'm looking at buying another BMW, but can't figure something out. It was imported from Japan in June '11 and registered in July '11. It was then registered again in August '11 with different plates. (Only 1 month later??) Any ideas why this would be? (No, the seller isn't aware why....) Reading, Km Date Source or reason Usage (avg), Km/day/year 86,281 2011, September 1st WOF inspection no travel for 2 days 86,281 2011, August 30th pre-registration check 25.71/9,360 84,841 2011, July 5th WOF inspection 84,841 2011, July 5th pre-registration check 84,897 2011, June 3rd border check
  12. Interesting. What helped my situation was the policy wording. They were specifically excluded from my contents insurance, but fell under my motor vehicle insurance. Here is an excerpt from my argument: However, you advised that the Contents policy doesn’t cover car parts or accessories. Therefore, the claim should fall under my Motor Vehicle policy. This policy states: “The motor vehicle, caravan or trailer (registered for use on public roads) specified in the Certificate of Insurance including spare parts, attached equipment and accessories (including any built in telephone) or tools which were factory fitted or supplied with the vehicle.†This explains that spare parts are covered by the definition of a motor vehicle. Spare parts, by definition of being “spareâ€, are never attached to a car, therefore there is nothing stating they need to be on, or in, the vehicle to be covered. Good luck, and stick to your guns (unless they are clearly excluded in the wordings).....
  13. Isn't there a chance the phone is locked onto the Telstra network? It depends whether he bought it on a plan through Telstra, or direct from the Apple store in Aussie. If it's locked, it will need unlocking before any NZ sim will work.

  15. Looks awesome - nice buy with the Sat Nav work already completed!
  16. That's a pain.... I did see these on TradeMe though, which seems like a good price: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-...n-410477434.htm

    M3 make over

Those seats look amazing! Can I ask who did the work? (feel free to PM the answer)
  18. *Edit* It was the camshaft sensor after all... just for future reference. Today the E39 started to stall. Completely out of the blue. If I lightly accelerate, it stalls. If I accelerate heavily, it's fine, but a loss in power. No warning lights on the dash. It's sitting at Burgers Motor Worx waiting for a scan in the morning (closest I could get to). I could just be patient and wait till it's scanned tomorrow..... but that's no fun. What are your thoughts on the cause? My initial three guesses are camshaft sensor, fuel pump, or air intake. Any others from experience?

  20. http://www.sella.co.nz/motoring/cars/bmw/8mz17m/ It looks pretty tidy.
  21. Another thing you might add to the list is fuel filter if it hasn't been yet - I did mine at 115kms and I swear fuel economy picked up. Might have been my imagination though.. Depends what has already been done. Any work on cooling system? That's most likely to cause you grief.
  22. Cheers guys. I got the AE bulbs off eBay, will PM you details. They were under $50NZ landed.
