    LSD - E30

Read this guys http://www.bimmersport.co.nz/forums/index.php?showtopic=6465 Spargo: Tony can put more loading on your lsd and it locks up ten times better than standard he also can sort out rebuilding it if its needs to be.This is what I wanted to do but once he looked at it said it was fine and loaded it up more ,now its fine. I have a 3.64 crown and pinion set here somewhere if you need it sparkle

    Head studs/Autronic

Hey gus I've been down this road with my car I originally bought an smc then found out what I needed Depending on what motor you are using you need to consider the following things and more As I found out ignition drivers don't really mean you can drive that many coils it means you need to hook it up to an ignitor and run either wasted spark or use two mitsi ones or autronic ones if you want to run sequential igniton this add substantialy to the price Usually need to run an Autronic crank trigger. Smc doesnt have a fan relay or a tacho out put-sucks! The sm2 or the sm4 seems better and not that much more.I found it was like buying a turbo "You could have this one for this much or have this ONE for just this little bit more"!! and thats pretty much typical of all car parts! Most autronics don't have base maps so more expensive to tune and actually get going. Need to buy a map sensor if you are going to run "X" amount of boost. Apparently they are an excellent ecu which can run a motor as good if not better than standard ecu. But what was a $2500 bought ,fitted and tuned item is more looking like 5k I originally wouldn't have gone for a link but for $1300 it has wicked features that no other ecu provides for the price and I'm happy. Also another piece of advice that I was given was when you are trying to fit this to a motor here in NZ ,motec autronic are over in Aus and its a mission for them to feed you information where as link is a call away. At the end of the day it all comes down to your tuner things like cold start and hot restart. Im sure this is gonna throw a spanner in your works Just make your mind up your self and don't talk to too many people Good luck

    E30 parts

hey mate my contact number is 0211645663
  12. That is a valid question Andrew .I did originaly have a 4.27 "small" case diff behind the m10 motor but the open diff I got the 4.27 ratio out of was a medium case diff which I found, that apparently you can't get,Rare as rocking horse sh*t! Price was aprroximitly $180-300 but it depends on what you give him(condition wise) But what I was hoping is if we start sending more guys in there with the diffs then the price may come down. I also recommend running redline oil in the lsds. It's expensive but helps with the lock up.
  13. Okay I dont know if this topic should be in here or not so mods move it to where you think it should be! Right I've notice a couple of people have been asking about changing ratios around in LSD's. What I did was bought a medium case LSD think it had 3.64 in it and bought a 4.27 open diff and had the centre swapped over at Steelie Gears. Now I rang Tony this morning at steelie gears and told him about how this is a problem (backlash ,preload etc)and could he do us guys a good price. He said if we can supply side seals for the diff it would make the job cheaper and also depends on the components you are supplying etc! I also had my lsd double loaded when it was out there which makes the car alot easier to flick around saves three point turns! So if your actually serious and want to get the ratio change(Don't f##k him around cos it'l wreck it for the rest of us)take your diffs out there and get him to sort it.Tell him your from bimmersport and your mate Darren rang and spoke to you about getting ratios swapped in bmw diffs Steelie Gears 3/32 Salesyard rd Otahuhu Tony 2766297 PS:I have a few LSD's coming my way so if any bodys looking for them let me know Also thought since people are swaping ratios around maybe we should have a log of what ratios people have spare cos this might help someone else out.

    M52 block??

Havent pulled it apart to see but it looks like a rod has let go and made a scene.Which is weird as most bmw's are overheated not blown up,but will let you know.

    M52 block??

Whats wrong with turboing your motor? blown Toyota v8s are good most 2jz's/1jz's will make more power for alot cheaper and you can buy more stuff off the shelf for them. I personally think alloy blocks are not that great. My sr20 is alloy block but its not putting out that higher horsepower,Watching the development of the rayglass datsun they were finding reliability problems with the block the higher they go and castiron evo motors are putting out over 1100hp. In hind sight I shoulda bought a starion 4g63 block and put an evo head on it. This week I've seen a friends m52 alloy motor let go and now you can see through the block.very expensive motor to replace!

    SITDWN

The version 5 was the last of the gen 1 so if you got a gen 2 you would be doing well .version 5 would be alot cheaper now since they have brought out gen 2. If you live out pukekohe I'd definitly be getting bob homewood from hitek motorsport to tune it ,good guy and very well priced.

hey,I used th nissan one for awhile but airflow meters are gay so running version 5 link plus, it all good, has alot of features that other ecus can't offer for the same money, I still havn't hook up flat shifting and launch control so might be able to get the time down to a 12.6 or something but not really too worried really wana hit pukekohe.
  20. I'm sure I just threw one of these away in the inorganic rubbish collection I'll have a look for you and let ya know
