  1. noticed this parked at the top of the bombays with a aa ute behind it today, hope its not the same problem.
  2. Thanks to everyone that showed for the day, was awesome weather and an even better bunch of cars. Highlights of the Day, Hearing the M3 CSL's and the e46 touring car going round, oh the induction noise. Seeing Ian go nuts on the skidpan with the 540. Not having to see any bent cars. Not bending any cars. Seeing everyone getting faster and faster. Getting a mean t-shirt tan Seeing a certain Blue X5 towing a blue e30 at the top of the bombays with a AA ute behind it. Hearing BMW drivers talk sh*t about VW's Hearing VW drivers talk sh*t about BMW's Heaps of people were asking me when the next day is, haven't really thought about it yet but it will be round mid year, in the meantime you can go to Trackhack.co.nz for any updates, also chucked all the upcoming trackdays around nz on there. Till then, lets see some more pics and vids
  3. To go on the track you need overalls and helmet. Afternoon session will be around 1 but I would recommend to maybe start on the skid pan if your going to miss the morning sessions if its your first time.
  4. passengers are allowed on the track in a caged car with overalls and helmet after signing the indemnity form. passengers are allowed on the skid pan in any car with any clothing.
  5. Afternoon is open pit for anyone and everyone. Day will finish at 4:30pm. Skid pan is a big concrete pan, 100m by 50m in size, there will be small courses to drive with a mixture of wet and dry surfaces. Its really good for car control and showing up bad drivers with too much HP as all they do spin round and round and round, then when they are straight again they sit there just spinning the wheels
  6. Few people have been having problems with it, when we did a test tho it seemed to work fine, only thing I know that will stop it from working is to use a AMEX card
  7. Im going to be there at 7:30am to sort everything out, not sure if gates will be open before then. Yeah, bring your car so I can have a look at the paint
  8. 8:30 driver sign in, so probably just after 9
  9. turn up on the day at 8:30am for driver sign in. check your mums email, it will have been sent a conformation.
  10. +1 about the no prizes. slicks on a wet skidpan are going to be pretty interesting, expect to see some hydroplaning going on If anyone want's a co-pilot for the day to laugh at your mistakes and generally talk a lot of sh*t.......im available
  11. sweet, might chuck some skid tyres on the 8

Time for an update, car was going really well, I was getting well into the 1:14's at Hampton Downs. Link to Video Pic from the day Then it was my Dads turn at the last taccoc meet to see what he could do, started the Day in the 1:16's then towards the end he was doing 1:18's (we had to swap the standard brake pads in due to the race pads wearing out) He kept on spinning it tho.... Then on the final lap of the second race he decided to play with the concrete wall on turn 1 and did this; He later admitted he thought he may of been trying a bit to hard Have since pulled it apart and the damage could have been worse, only infront of the front right strut tower has been ruined. While pulling it apart it was found that the; Left engine mount was loose Gearbox had ripped the left mount of the support out of the chassis Center driveshaft rubber was flogged Left side of the rear subframe was missing one bolt and other were loose Rear bushes had heaaaaaps of play (which might be the main cause of it always wanting to spin) At the moment its getting the panel and paint done. Has also been put on a chassis machine and is still straight Plan is to Put the engine back in Replace all the rear bushes Re-valve front shocks (still have standard road valving which probably doesn't match the rears nicely which have race valving) Remount the gearbox so it has 2 mounts and not 1. Re-postion front header tank to passenger side and further back for better weight distribution Mount fiberglass front bonnet with pins (less 10kg weight) Sort the engine mount. Replace front right slick with the spare as its munted Replace drive shaft hanger Replace front pads with race pads Should be a bit quicker once back together

    860i?

You can get kits that will stroke it to 6L, just like any other stroker. There is no factory 860i tho.
  14. Need solid rear trailing arms bushes for the e30, anyone got anything? Need them ASAP.
  15. aren't the borbet reps 15x8?
  16. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=340776903 Start/Reserve of $6999, Just got a new WOF.
  17. Hell no, It should have a way better weight balence (also less weight) once back together.
  18. still on, not many number tho so heaps of track time for those that come. If you prepay it makes it a bit more easy on the day as its one less thing to do. and yes it was Chris behind the wheel, he admitted later that he thought he was trying a bit too hard to get my lap times, closest he got was 2 seconds off
  19. bent the LHS chassis rail, will be pulling the e30 apart this Saturday to cut it up
