Your Intake cam ECU target and actual target should match. Unfortunately there is no software around that will show you this however it is availible from the DME by other means. should look like this typically (sorry this is a s50b32 which has exhaust cam too) My point is the DME target, in your case intake cam target (ICT), should closely follow the intake cam actual (ICA). If not you have a bung cam position sensor or other wiring issues or probably seals are gone. Units for the cams are in degrees and on the primary axis, secondary is RPM scaling on this graph. Replacement seal kits are availible.
  4. sweet ... hit me up on PM .. will give ya my email and well take it from there. haha
  5. mean .. person transport for bimmersport taupo track meet. Oh wait .. kind of need to bring the car. In other news, am doing some pretty geeky stuff at the moment which I hope to start sharing with you lot soon. Just not quite yet as its very prototype and could fall flat on its face still. (shouldnt do .. have spent a year + thinking about it and planning, excuting it)
  6. Remuera coffee club back scratching I reckon .. I rate this stunt up with BMW's decision to synthisis engine noise through the speakers in the new m5. Dont get me wrong, I like the new 3 quite a lot. Motorsport / SE version will be very nice.
  7. I do lots of stuff. If its geeky .. I'm usually pretty handy at it. Im one of 'those' ideas people so im always asking the question "I wonder if I can do this...." usually finds me down some interesting paths. My profession isnt really of any use to people, more to my company.

  10. I love how in that article that there are 2 photos of her driving and three photos of her pissing around with the gimmicky fart cans. 1 of the actual car (outside some bankers holiday house) On the plus side it describes new BMW car owner demographic perfectly.
  11. I can't really see where the intake is getting its air from but if the filter is exposed to engine air, it will be sucking in warm air under certain circumstances. The only real way is to measure the in take temp and the KG of air per hour is by obtaining readings from the MAF. This will properly confirm what the engine is getting. I spent a little bit of time tuning my airbox this way. I still have some strange goings on about 160kph+ but thats low pressure in front of the car building up. What you want from a CAI is physical separation between you cold air source and the warm air in the engine bay, Ample none turbulent air source across the speed range. Shielded from rain.
  12. Yes again, thanks for all your help over the years and for taking my 'please dont scratch my wheels' requests seriously. Still hard to find people who give a toss. Best of luck for the future. Could you please PM me around the advertising stuff about who Mag & Tire's new forum delegate will be etc. Cheers
  13. i'm not down with idrive yet sorry. Haven't had any vehicles to mess with. Remning / Car Entertainment Solutions is your best bet. He did my friends 6 series conversion. Not sure if hotwire does idrive either ? PS Mandatory pics of your car in the showroom please

Really can't wait to see this all up and running. I think you're onto a winner there Ashkan.
  18. Yeah, its not the end of the world. Again youll just get build up of desposits in and around the head. Maybe a stuck hydraulic lifter or 2. But that takes hours and hours. Modern engines are pretty good these days.
  19. Man, I just typed a novel .. and got killed by the cookie monster and lost it all grrrr anyways, Yes warm up your car but not for too long. That will help with stone cold engine start. (crank and cam bearing shell wear) Make sure you car is up to normal operating temp before taking it over 4000rpm and/or doing spirted driving Oil operating temprature. Oil prssure takes longer to build when oil is cold. Water temp gauge isnt your oil temprature, but can be used to work it out. Oil usually only takes a 1-2ks to get upto normal operating temp 80-95 degrees. All of this is dependant on the grade of oil you use and ambient outside tempratures.
